Clothing wasn’t ready for pick up date that was specified on the receipt. Never received a call informing me of the delay, still paid full price & to top it off an article of clothing still had stain mark!

I brought a three piece tuxedo and a linen wedding shirt that had a smaill stain on it to be cleaned. I needed the tux for my daughter’s Sweet 15, which was 10 days away. They gave me a pickup date that was about 3 days before the party, which I thought was a little too long but not too bad. I didn’t mind too much because they were just five minutes away from my house and I could just pick it up on my way home from work. My plan was to wear the tux during the first part of the party for all the father-daughter dance and family pictures. Then, change into the linen shirt for the party. When I showed up to pick up my items, I was told that the linen shirt had to be «sent out» to clean the stain. It would take«a couple of days» for it to come back. Okay, that was a little too close for comfort, but no big deal. What really scared me is that they couldn’t find my tux. The lady out front said it probably got sent out along with the shirt and should be back in a couple of days as well. The day of the pickup, I showed up and was handed my linen shirt(still with the stain on it) and my tux. The problem was(besides the fact that the linen shirt was still stained) is that my tux shirt was not included. When I asked about it, the lady said that the stub I handed her only said«tuxedo», which meant the jacket and pants. I explained that I had brought the tux jacket, pants, AND shirt. She then looked in the back and found the shirt, which had not been cleaned. When I asked if they could clean it and have it ready for me either later that day or the next morning(the day of the party), she said she couldn’t guarantee it. I was so disgusted that I just took the shirt back. I asked her if she could at least reimburse me the money I had paid when I dropped off the items since they didn’t clean the tux shirt and the linen shirt was still stained. She said only the owner could do that and he would be in until the next day. I left my name and number and asked her to have the owner call me ASAP. I never heard from him. It wasn’t until about a week later that I stopped by the store and he happened to be there. When I explained what had happened he showed no sympathy whatsoever. I actually had to argue with him to get reimbursed for the cost of the«cleaning» of the tux and linen shirts. I asked him if he even cared that he was losing a customer due to not only the incompetence I had encountered, but also the attitude he was giving me. «That’s all I can do» he said as he handed me the cash for the reimbursement. Needless to say, I haven’t been back to Brite Kleen. Instead, I’m driving an extra ten minutes to Michelle’s Cleaners, where I have found great quality work and excellent customer service.

I tried this cleaners off of a positive recommendation. The prices are reasonable, the staff is courteous, and they do a nice job dry cleaning garments. I also had some items mended — torn seam and a zipper fix — which was quality work. Plus, they contacted me when the work was done… bonus! I will be using Brite Kleen Cleaners as my regular spot.
