Lenzi’s

I attended a high school reunion here last September and the food and atmosphere was wonderful. I was pleased to hear that they had opened a restaurant and went there last night with two friends. Everything was SUPERB! The bread basket was a tray of deliciously moist and flavorful zucchini bread. We ordered drinks which were good and generous and fried onion rings as an appetizer.
The onion rings were some of the best we had ever tasted! We all ordered the steak tips and were not disappointed. Perfectly char-​broiled medium rare they were amazing and served with sauteed al dente onions and green peppers — delicious! Of special note… (I don’t like the common, current practice of plating food items on top of one another.) I asked the waitress if they could not do this. «Of course!» she said. She also let us substitute french fries and their lemon scallion risotto for the menu offering of mashed potatoes. She very graciously/​pleasantly accommodated our requests. For dessert, we ordered the apple crisp and shared it. It was served with fresh whipped cream and French vanilla ice cream and was a delicious end to a perfect evening!

I would give –10 if I could. I was a guest at a function here. I contacted them to inquire about a gluten free option. I don’t like eating from a buffet with gluten items nearby because of cross contamination problems. I was told to call a week before to place an order they can easily accommodate my dietary needs. Barbara answered the phone said I was all set everything is taken care of. O K no order but they have a plan. While in line which was down the hall around back of our room I asked about my meal. A woman came out with a covered dish. She said it was hot where was I sitting. The tables aren’t numbered so I went down the bar around the corner to my table. She put my plate down and lifted the lid. 3 small pieces of meat each about the size of a half dollar a 3×4 piece of fish. The rest empty plate. No potato or rice no vegetable zip. Looked like they pulled a small portion before sauce for meat and bread crumbs for fish. A frozen dinner has more meat than this plus potatoe and vegetables. I was made to feel as if they went out of their way to give a safe meal. I should have packed my own food I would have had more than maybe 5 oz of protein. Dessert was ice cream in a cream puff. Pass. If you are stuck going here for an event and need a special diet pack your own.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I’ve only written a few reviews in Unilocal but I felt the need to say how bad this place was. We booked a room for my sisters bridal shower, we chose an end room so we would have space and the large wall to project a sentimental slide show I had made for my sister. I showed up the day of the shower to my mother being upset. The event manager told us that he had to switch our room to the middle room because a family had rented a DJ and needed more space. NOT OK. So the room we ended up having was maybe the width of 2 bowling lanes (we had 50ish people and it was a warm day in May). The slideshow would not work and we ended up having to borrow their projector screen. The guy wanted to charge us a $ 50 rental fee for using it to which I replied HELL NO because we would not have needed it if we were in the correct room. My sister arrived and I had music to go along with the slideshow but ²⁄₃ of the room could not hear it at all (including my sister) because the DJ next door was right up against the wall BLASTING music for a first communion. My poor mother had to go over three times and ask them to turn it down instead of enjoying the shower. The event manager made no attempt to correct any of this and didn’t seem to care. I will NEVER go back there with their attitude. My sister has one bridal shower and it was ruined by their attitude, they seemed to only care that they got paid rather than try to reconcile what had happened. I think their mind set needs more of a renovation than the building. Go to Salvatore’s in Lawrence or The Wyndham in Andover! They were wonderful!

Great function facility with excellent food. We have been to many events here and always hope for their pot pie!!!

Had a work function there last night, for the first time. The owners wife (i think it was) was awesome! She met all the expectations we asked her about. The staff was very friendly, and the food was excellent! We asked for them to come up with blue drinks to go with our theme, and they did so making 2 awesome drinks, that everyone was drinking! Cant wait to hold another function there!

My soon-​to-​be in-​laws hosted my bridal shower here! It was so nice and the food good! Not one complaint from any guests. We have also had anniversary parties and mercy meals here in the past– again, the food has always been good, warm, and the rooms are always setup nicely. Would absolutely have future events here and recommend them.

Normally, I lower my expectations at functions with catered buffets. Most times the food is only a short distance from school cafeterias and bug juice, but after reading the reviews here and elsewhere, I was looking forward to Lenzi’s. Well, fool me once. The food was just okay. Granted we didn’t have the famous chicken pot pie or the steak tips. We received baked ziti, meatballs, and fried chicken tenders. All were maybe slightly above average. The real problem, and the reason for two stars, was the service. When you wait thirty minutes for your table to be called only to find two of the only four chaffing dishes empty per line, it’s not a good sign. Look it was a large event (500 people), but if you’re a FUNCTION ROOM – it’s the ONLY thing you do– you should be able to handle it. There was also no service at the tables. You had to hunt down the nametagless middle aged waitresses who blended in with the slew of moms in the crowd just to get a simple water pitcher refilled. (One per table of ten.) Lemonade? Forgetaboutit.
If you’re going to Lenzi’s, it’s probably because you have to, so just brace yourself.

The food had good flavor; the portions were a completely different matter. For example, I ordered a Chicken Pot Pie that Lenzi’s stated feeds 12. I explained that some of my guests were bigger eaters and they assured me that the Pot Pie that feeds 12 would be «Plenty». I, my husband and my mother all agreed that the pie really serves 4 — 5 people. Their salad for 6 served 2. I had to go out at the last minute and buy more food or my party would have been a disaster. Be sure to order a lot more than they recommend because their portions are tiny. In the future I will seek a different caterer.

We had a function there for roughly 500 people. Not only was there enough food for probably 350 people, but what was there was literally cold. Terrible; absolutely terrible.

Hall looks nice, and the event coordinator was helpful.
The dinner was buffet style, so I expected it to be less than restaurant quality. Not what I expected at all, everything was GREAT! We had salad, steak tips, chicken pot pie, mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables! Not a complaint in the whole party! The steak tips were cooked perfect and the chicken pot pie was fantastic!
