Wow! This is my third review of three different eateries at 361 Tyngsboro Road in the last few years. Sabai-Sabai, which serves up Thai and Laotian cuisines, opened at this location in 2011, which was formerly Chubby’s, JP’s Diner & Grill, and All American Diner before that. I’m wondering if the secluded location and lack of own parking lot(parking along Tyngsboro Rd) has anything to do with the high turnover at this location, which is sort of tucked away in a residential area next to an apartment complex along Mascuppic Lake. Anyways, I stopped in at Sabai-Sabai for lunch takeout very recently. The atmosphere inside is very cozy and casual with a few tables and takeout counter in the dining room, walls painted yellow and flatscreen TV on the wall. There’s also table seating in the entrance way. The kitchen area is no longer visible from the dining room, as before when it was Chubby’s. The menu offerings here include stir fried noodle dishes, pad thai, seafood dishes, fried rice, curry dishes, Laos noodle soup, Laos steak, Laos salad, tom yum shrimp, chicken satay, shrimp lettuce wraps, and deep fried appetizers. Fruit shakes are also offered. The prices here are fair, 6 lunch special dishes(include soup) priced $ 7.75-$ 10.75 and dinner entrees $ 10.75-$ 13.75. For lunch, I ordered the 36. Beef fried rice($ 7.75) served with 2 pieces of egg roll and soup. The food was ready in about 10 minutes after ordering. The beef fried rice was cooked to order which had tender pieces of sliced beef steak, peas, carrots, and egg with soft rice. The 2 egg rolls resembled spring rolls, which had a thin crispy wrapper filled with cabbage, carrots, and ground pork. The soup(supposed to be wonton soup) tasted pretty good, which was mostly a spicy tomato broth with few small bits of vegetables and soft pork pieces. Lunch overall was pretty decent. I will have to stop in here for dinner since the filtered reviews of the food seem very positive. NOTE: Credit cards are now accepted here.
