I wanted to try this place because of the great reviews here. We ordered delivery. At first I was impressed. My husband and I ordered 2 pizzas and 2 Boston Cream Pies. They called back to let us know that they only had one Boston Cream Pie left. They apologized and said they’d make it up to us by giving us a free dessert Cannoli. Nice. The pizzas… well they were okay. Nothing spectacular. Not by any means bad. Based on the pizzas alone I would have possibly considered going back to give them a second chance, but I wouldn’t be in a big hurry to do it. Then onto the dessert. I had no interest in the Cannoli and I passed that off to my hubby. I then grabbed the Boston Cream Pie and a spoon. Now, I’m going to admit I was not really paying much attention to what I was eating. My hubby and I were doing food and a movie so I was more focused on the movie. From initial glance, the dessert looked fine… well there wasn’t much of it to see. Just the whipped topping, which looked fine. So, with my eyes on the tv, I blindly put the first bite into my mouth. Huh… this dessert is REALLY disappointing. It tastes… well… kind of like gross dirt. My attention is now brought down to my dessert as I scoop up the second bite. The cake kind of falls away oddly, so I look closer at it. It’s mold. I’m eating mold. I’m not eating moldy food. No, that would require their to be some food. I started to scrap the whipped topping off of the dessert and stab through the rest of the mold trying in vain to find a trace of cake. No cake. This was a giant pile of pure mold covered in whipped cream. Well, what followed was very similar to that famous scene in the Crying Game. That is just horrifying. How freaking old was this cake that the entire thing had been transformed into mold? How could they not notice as they added the whipped topping in preparation for me? I don’t use the word hate very lightly. I can count the number of people or things I hate on one hand. This place has now been assigned one of those fingers. I hate this place. This review was for my visit on July 7th2012. Nicolitalia officially closed their doors at the end of September 2012.

Nicolitalia Pizza is no more. Out of business and I have to say we are crushed. These guys had the best pie in Utah, hands down. Dough was killer, sauce perfect, all around quality. We hate Utah and this kept us connected to Boston, Arlington to be exact. So sad, would love their dough and sauce recipe :)

Hands down my favorite place to get pizza on the south end of the valley. I have chatted with the owner on a number of occasions and there isn’t a nicer guy around. He is a Boston transplant and brought an awesome East-coast style pie with him. It is tough to find(hidden in a strip mall off of 123rd) but is more than worth the trip. Food: Pizza: Fresh toppings, flavorful mozzarella, and a perfect thin and chewy crust. Excellent pie. Great wings. Great garlic bread. Everything I have tried here has been great. Also the dessert pizza will melt your face it’s that delicious. Service: Great service, the owner is a seriously great guy who cares about putting a great pizza on the table. It isn’t uncommon to see him behind the counter at the original location(Provo) He is the kind of business owner you love to support, and would love to see more of. Check out Nicolitalia — it’s worth the stop!

Don’t think you can go wrong with this place. 10 wings, 2 greek salads, and a 16″ XL pizza for $ 26 — delivered. Loved the wings. Had them plain, and while slightly dry, the flavor was great. The slight char really made them — and I’ll definitely take wings slightly dry over slightly rubbery any day of the week. The greek salad was tasty too. I really enjoyed the dressing and ended up dipping my pizza crust in it for the occasional extra pop. As for the pizza, we had the Nicolitalia Special: sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and peppers. The crust is thin with a slight crispness to it, there was a good amount of cheese, and the toppings seemed fresh. They went a little light on the meats, but on the whole, it was good. Tasty pizza at a good price. And it seems to stand up to delivery better than NYPD does, so it will probably become my go-to pizza delivery joint in the area.

So excited! I know and love the location in Provo and I must say the quality is just as fantastic here in Draper. :) The pizza was super warm and the cheese melted perfectly. I got a classic pepperoni and it was simply delicious. It really made my day and I loved ordering online and just paying with my credit card. It’s also nice because I could just leave the tip on the receipt so it was charged to the card instead of having to search for cash like some places. And with your first online order you get a little discount. Happiness. :)

I really like this place. Nicolitalia is located in an older mini strip mall in Draper, and can be a bit tricky to find if you’re not looking for it. It’s located right next to the Mad Greek, which is visible on 123rd. These guys make good pizza. Their first shop is located in Provo, and I’m glad they expanded out to Draper. They always run daily specials where you can get two slices and a drink for around $ 5. Great deal, right? And for lunch they offer an all you can eat pizza special with drink and salad for around $ 6. The pizza tends to be a bit greasy, so if you’re a napkin-dabber(seriously? why?), be warned. The crust is the perfect blend of crunchy and chewy, and their toppings are delicious. Usually there’s only one or two guys working, so if you get behind a rush, be prepared to wait for a bit. But it’s well worth the wait.

Easily the best pizza in the south end of the valley. They use quality ingredients on a great crust and the service has always been great. They have good specials and coupons available which make the price more than reasonable as well. Add to the fact that they have a drive up window and you have a very solid place to grab a quick bite to eat as well.

The food is excellent, but we tried to pay with a coupon and it took FOREVER for them to process it. I’d never heard of almonds on pizza, but it tasted great.

Went back for a visit and I decided I was not impressed with their pizza. It has too much Parmesan or strong, kind of sour something — maybe this is a plus to some people, but I’m a weirdo who does not enjoy Parmesan or strong cheese in general. The dessert pizza is still fantastic though. I probably will not order regular pizza from Nicolitalia again, but I’ll fight you for that last slice of delectable, custard topped dessert pie.

I found this place thanks to Aimee C and I couldn’t be more grateful. The pizza was fantastic, cooked just the way I prefer with a chewy crush, not too many toppings, a delicious sauce and perfectly melted cheese. We tried the Italian Stallion(who can resist a name like that? Not me) and it was divine. I liked that everything wasn’t perfect perfect, the slices varied in size. The bread sticks were also good, they were served with an unusual dipping sauce, but I’m a fan. I wanted to love the cannolis, but the fillings wasn’t what I expected. Maybe it was more powdered sugar than I’m used to. I would love to give them another shot to try some of the other pizzas. It will be easier now that I know where they are, I almost missed them the first time.

The pizza was excellent, but they need major help in the personnel department. Even the«clean» tables were covered in crumbs. Time lapse as follows: 30 minutes-received bread sticks 48 minutes received salads 68 minutes received pizzas I like this place and want it to succeed, but they need to hire some good people ASAP. The food was excellent once we got it.

Great real Boston Pizza! Glad to them expanding from Provo. Good service, with a nice Italian. I have spoken to Nick, the owner a few times. The guy works like a dog. He didn’t take a day off in like the first three years of business and worked day and night. His hard work has paid off, as he has a great little growing business.

Goodstuff I am not a huge pizza fan but had a groupon. Their crust is great and their lunch specials were good. Not busy so go there so they don’t go out of business!

Sooooo good … you MUST check this place out if youre in the Draper area. Its kind of tucked away in a poorly manicured business mall but the food is delicious and the people were super nice. Its out of the way for me but that wont stop me from going back from time to time. I got the slice/salad/soda option for five bucks and its the perfect amount of food to leave you satisfied but not so stuffed youre unproductive for the next three hours. Seriously you need to check this place ou and tell your friends about it too!

I’m going to call this Nick’s and it’s going to be my favorite. I want to call it Nick’s because people from the Boston area know that’s what a pizza place ought to be called(there’s one in almost every town in Mass.) so I don’t even understand naming it something else in the first place. The first thing I noticed that the place is way too clean to be authentic Boston style pizza… It has a stained concrete floor rather than ragged 40 year old tile, and tables and chairs that all seem to be in good condition. The food is oh my gosh I wish this was in my neighborhood good. I ate so much I thought I was maybe going to die on the way home. The house made creamy Italian salad dressing was so good I wished I had a spoon. The crust on the pizza was perfect. It had that great balance of the little bit of charryness just along the very edges, and chewiness, and flavor. The charryness is a careful balancing act. I’m talking pale brown. Not the golden brown that comes from oil, but the pale almost dusty brown of perfection. And I said charred, not black, that is best left in New Haven, Ct. where it belongs. Nick’s is perfect. The cheese is gooey and melty and the veggies are all fresh and crisp and the sausage is sliced up real sausage and the pepperoni isn’t as gross as some(I’m not a pepperoni fan). Did I mention the gooey cheese? The sauce is substantial and delicious. I don’t know how many times I can use«perfect» in a review without getting kicked off of Unilocal, but for real. Perfect. I just really love this place a lot, but as a previous reviewer stated, they weren’t very busy and they are in kind of a wonky strip mall somewhat removed from the strip mall mecca in Draper so I kind of worry about them. What we need to do is just all go there a lot so I don’t lose another favorite pizza place. I think if I, of all people, am bearing testimony that this is worth going to Draper for, you should all just believe me, okay?

A tragedy awaits. Fraught with irony, hubris, and chunky marinara sauce. You see, I’m a pizza snob. Every time I take one for the fam and pay 5 bucks for my pizza, I kick myself. Sure, I eat it, but a part of me dies inside. I lived for places like Big Apple and the Pie. Real pizza for real pizza snobs. I thought I knew where the best of the best in the SLC pizza world lived. Until last night. You see, I play in a band(long story). We got a gig playing for a pizza place out in Draper. Kinda out of the way. Not the perfect high traffic location. We came. We played. Then we ate pizza. I had the Mahgarita. Good heavens. A pizza place’s cheese pizza is my personal test. They can’t hide behind piles of toppings. It’s the crust, the sauce, the cheese, and you. Mano a mano(a mozza). The mahgarita had this incredible, chunky, sorta marinara-y sauce. Tasted fresh. A bit sweet, actually – probably from the basil – but with a nice punch of garlic. The cheese was a blend I think of mozza and romano. Not too much so’s to overpower the flavor of the sauce. The crust – perfectly done, hand-tossed, and chewy, not too bready. My breath smelled after eating. That was a good sign. The tragedy? This place opened Valentines Day 2011. I hear its sister location is a well-established joint down in Provo. But this place ain’t gonna be around long if people don’t find out about what a treasure awaits. And if it goes, Provo’s just going to be too far for me to go for my five-star pizza, snob or no. True it was a Tuesday night. But it was slooow. Let’s just say we got a tip in our jar from everyone that came in the door. We left with $ 1 in tips. Please, go – try the Mahgarita pizza. Or the special. And get a salad with the house dressing(family recipe). If you go on a Tuesday, you’ll get live music as well ;). Then, go and spread the word. This place is worth it.

I’ve been a fan of Nicolitalia pizza since they opened their store in Provo, and I couldn’t be happier about the new location! The pizzas are fantastic, I’d recommend the margherita. They use a nice thin crust but the sauce seems a little plain.

The pizza is great – I love all of ‘em, and the Nico Special is my favorite. The Mahgarita is fantastic as well. Also try the Scarpas, calzones, and house dressing on the salads. It’s all good. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, is clean, and it’s great service.

I love the Nicolitalia in Provo, so when I found out Nick opened a Draper store(where I live) I was ecstatic! This is the best Boston style pizza you’ll find for 2000 miles

I just moved north of Provo last year from Chicago –disputably the pizza capital of the US. Upon arrival, I immediately set-out to find the best local pizza joints, ultimately ending up at Nick’s in Provo after reading numerous reviews here on Unilocal. And as the reviews encouraged me to do, I ordered the Mahgaritah pizza and Greek salad. I was not disappointed. So when Nick told us about his Draper location, I had to give it a go, and to my delight, the manager there seems to have the whole Mahgaritah pizza-making process down. He loaded our pizza up with the perfect amount of plump, fresh tomatoes, and the cheese was perfectly cooked on top. But where Nick’s pizza really shines is in the crust. I’m pretty sure I could happily eat Nick’s pizza every day:)
