Great. Even though this place is run by the prison. with inmates as staff. It has a veary mom and pop country feel. I’ve had many an item on the menu and am as of yet to be disappointed. The prices are fair if not cheap. And the staff they do use are courteous and of good spirts, up beat if you will, telling jokes and laughing with everyone. I recommend getting the«Captain burger» a double bacon cheeseburger with onion rings, comes with seasoned frys on the side. I take the rings off so that I have both rings and frys with out payibg for both.

Classic diner food– don’t expect fancy gourmet, but DO expect a good, quality meal. Prices are insanely good– like 30 years ago good. Excellent customer service, and really quick turnaround. Clean restaurant. However, because the food is inexpensive and good, the crowds are big. If you come in the middle of lunch rush, finding a place to sit will be tough. Definitely worth it. I’m adding this to my list of favorite places.

Had a great experience here. We came In for breakfast. It was great. Nothing fancy. Tasted like homemade. We had the French toast. I had it with bacon(tons by the way) and my mom had the ham, which was a ham steak. It was great. The ladies working there were so kind. It’s hard not to stare knowing they are inmates. So so polite. The best part was the peanut butter bar we left with. So so delicious. Go in, just for those.

If you want solidly good all-American diner fare at ridiculously low prices, Serving Time is for you. I love the concept and the fact that it allows female inmates to get out and interact with the community, along with providing for them job training, and the tongue in cheek attitude is awesome. And make sure you don’t pass up the tater tots!

Affordable, tasty food made by inmates. Your not going to find haute cuisine here. However you will find delicious burgers, sandwiches and breakfast items. The every day cheeseburger combo for $ 5 is a bargin. Burgers are grilled which I enjoy. Another winner is the French dip. Breakfast is good and again cheap.

I originally heard about this place years ago and had no desire to go to it… now that I’ve been, I regret that decision and if I could go back in time I’d smack myself. Granted, it is literally 10 yards from one of the gates, but it adds a certain je né sais quoi to the meal. The menu was loaded with everything you could want… no matter your taste, from soup to salads to breakfast to bacon cheeseburgers, they have what you want… and everything is delicious. I had the bacon & egg omelet(w/what toast & hash browns) with onion rings and a drink. Got back to the office just in time for the food coma to set in.) Planning on going back this coming week! A+

More indoor seating, in the building across the patio/outdoor tables. I had a breakfast special for lunch. $ 5.99 for blueberry pancakes, two eggs, and sausage and a coffee. Perfect over easy eggs. I’d pass on the sausage, but the bacon looked good. Very good blueberry pancakes! Normal size, with good berry to pancake ratio. Plastic plates and utensils. If you eat in the extra dining area, there are most condiments and also to-go boxes. If you ask, they will bring your order to the extra dining area if you ask. No Wifi. About 5 minutes off I-15.

There are a lot of reviews for lunch… their lunches are as great as everyone claims, but don’t miss out on their BREAKFAST. Their pancakes, french toast, eggs, and piles of bacon, etc. are amazing and won’t cost you a fortune. For $ 3.99 you can get a stack of pancakes or french toast with 2 eggs and a pile of bacon, not just 2 or 3 strips like other places. They serve breakfast all day(till 2pm when they close) so don’t feel like you have to rush to get there.

So much food, so tasty, so cheap. My favorite is the over easy BLT. There is probably a half a pound of bacon on this sandwich in all of its messy glory. The fries are also really good. If you’re in the mood for breakfast, you can’t go wrong there, either. The pancakes and french toast are massive orders and everything is always cooked to perfection. If you’re look for dessert, they have you covered their, too. The cinnamon rolls are delicious and absolutely drenched in icing. If ice cream is more your thing, try two of their homemade cookies(your choice of flavor) with tons of ice cream in between.

Was pleasantly surprised by this random lunch spot. I had the philly cheesesteak and it was delicious. I also ordered a pumpkin square and it was one of the best I have ever had. So good! Check it out. Fun menu names, all prison related.

So after a visit to Ikea we did a quick Unilocal search to find a hidden gem close by. This is NOT it. It is as others have said right next to the prison which is fine and the line out the door had us smiling as we approached. But then we got our food. Out of the 4 items we bought I would only recommend the cheese fries, but really how can you go wrong with cheese fries? The captain burger was pretty gross, I ended up throwing half of it away and I ledt hungry. My wife had the chicken quesadilla which had everything in it but cheese — weird to be frank. And even my 9 year old was somewhat disappointed by her chicken fingers. I am flabbergasted at the reviews, maybe the prison is paying folks to positively review this place, my advice is to steer clear of this place.

After a couple of visits to this place, I remain impressed. The food is pretty good, the prices are very reasonable, and the place has a great humor about the situation… the situation of eating in a present with the food cooked and served by low-risk inmates… just in case that wasn’t apparent. Many people feel the same apparently as the place can become pretty busy at times. Service is pretty good and kind of speedy. Definitely come if you’re into decent food and cheap prices… or maybe if you’re just really into Orange is the New Black. Red anybody?

Great food and good prices! The ladies doing the cooking are inmates and work very hard. If they were open later I would eat here more often!

Cheap and tasty. I love the tater tots, they always come out crunchy. There are daily specials which include entrees as well as desserts. The one time I was disappointed was when I got their cherry«empanada.» I was expecting a handheld pastry, but it turned out to be a knife and fork type of burrito with cherry pie filling. They are open Monday –Friday till 2 pm.

Location: you have to drive a bit far to get to this place but it was very easy to find located in a mobile trailer in the parking lot Staff: people were very friendly and excited to serve you which made the whole experience worthwhile Food: I ordered their daily special: chicken tacos with their mexitatertots. The tacos were good but not out of this world and tater tots were regularly seasoned. Food was very cheap though

After recommendations from my friends I finally decided to eat here for lunch. This place is located right next to the prison, but don’t let that deter you away. The food is really tasty and the serving size is huge. I got the Captain Burger. Two patties, all the fixings plus crispy bacon and onion rings. I also got 3 cookies for a $ 1 and those were great too. Make sure you stick with white chocolate cookies all the way. I also tried some of the sweet potato fries, seasoned fries and tater tots. The food is definitely god for what it costs but it’s nothing out of this world. If you haven’t tried eating here I would suggest you do though. I’ll go back in a few months.

I love the unique experience, but more so the fact that you get amazing food for so cheap. Almost everything on the menu is under $ 5, they always serve breakfast, and there is so much to choose from. It’s a very cozy diner with a very friendly staff. Place is very easy to find, parking is right in front, food is awesome. I’m so happy I got to eat here, I’ve been waiting for awhile and I finally got a weekday off as they are only open Monday — Friday 8:00am — 2:00pm. Love it love it love it.

I love to ask everyone I work with«Let’s eat at the prison.» They always give me the crunchy eye look, and then realizing it’s me asking them, they always give in. #yourwelcome. I love it and everyone I take, loves it. I eat here all the time, especially on my cheat days(can’t be eating fried food all the time!). It is cheap, fast, close to our work(we are right across the freeway), surprisingly tasty, and they even have a punch card :). The location is so silly, and they play around with it as well — their specials are called«Infractions of the day» and their treats are«Good Behavior.» It used to be called Hard Times Café, but since have changed their name. Still the same good place with the same good food. Their fries are some of the best around. If I want to mix it up, I get the sweet potato fries, which are equally delicious. I love their philly cheesesteak and their french dip. A lot of my friends really enjoy the BLT(I am not a bacon fan, at all), or the malibu sandwich.

I’ve been here several times and the food has varied from really good to just OK. With the interesting location, ambiance, and clientele, it’s still beats just about all the regular fast food outlets. This is THE place for visiting sheriffs and employees. There’s a great room in the back for several people to have quiet private dining. Like the Greek places, this place has a large menu. You know all the ingredients are coming from Sysco or similar. Sometimes they’re over cooked. However, they often come together. They don’t get the cheapest ingredients. The fish and chips here were pretty good. They were better quality fish that I’ve received at some of the well know chains. So, the food is 3 star, but the place is solid 4.
