I’m going out on a limb here with this review. I am from out of town and will not be going there till tomorrow if I get the chance. I travel a lot. I have even gone to several local stores where they can be a bit more wiggle room for what they will purchase and they can also buy things the franchised locations can not purchase. One plus is that Kid to Kid and similar familiar named resale shops(Clothes Mentor, Style Encore, Platos closet, Once upon a child) are franchised and not chain stores. You tend to get a slightly better experience at franchises over chains. Of course this isn’t always true, but the median experience is just that, franchises I realize I think into things a lot more than most people, however, I think looking at the comments made so far show what the problem is, and it’s not simply the ladies and gentlemen behind the counter. It sounds like the people selling have a bad attitude. Also the people working have to feel undervalued. The sad thing is how we can place so much attachment to things(clothes, toys, strollers), while at the same time being callus and inconsiderate to those around us. I am 100% guilty of doing all of those things, I’ve worked in a service position and sell items in hopes of a few dollars back in my pocket. I do agree the customer is the main focus. I went to a store recently, they made sure to compliment one of the things that wasn’t going to be purchased. This is an excellent way to ensure repeat business, by making the seller feel important. I’ve also worked in sales all of my life, sales is like an emotional roller coaster, and to stay at a success rate often I find myself doing too much. The Time I put into continuing education about products that I sell is part of my «relax/family/social time». I know myself, when I first started looking at jobs, I did not want to do sales I knew it was already going to involve a lot of time and effort. I am just as lazy as the next person, but I’ll do the work if it is essential to my eating and having clean clothes. I’m totally turning this into A chance to make a comment on society at large. A lot of the things I hear people say in regards to work are unhealthy. No pain no gain, the value of a hard earned dollar, put in overtime, willing to make sacrifices. They have been taken to glorify the time clock and achievement oriented self worth. Just something to take into consideration the next time we are tempted to become angry with the person who is making our lives run a bit slower.

I’m from out of town(San Fransisco Bay Area) so my experience may be defined more by that, but I think this place is great. The prices seemed really good(again they may just be irritatingly high where I live) and the people are nice. I’m glad this shop is here!

This stores items are well over priced went there for a jogging stroller and I must say I’ve waisted my time. I walked around the store to check their clothes and again for some of the used items way over priced Not one sales associate asked if I need help with anything I guess they were too busy in their own worlds Customers are supposed to be first not after conversation ends. I won’t ever come back

I’ve consigned clothes here during times when I’ve been too lazy to sell them myself. Each time I go in there, I regret it. The amount of $ you get for the clothes(last time I got $ 30 for about 23 items in great condition, some new with tags) is ridiculous, especially given how much they mark it up. On top of that, the ladies that work there are beyond unfriendly. Last time I was there, I stood waiting for 10 minutes while the ladies(who saw me waiting) just chatted with each other about catty, complaining things. When they did finally acknowledge me, they continued to be unpleasant. I felt like an unwelcome guest in some weird sorority. This time I’m finally done.

i buy from here a couple times a year. its great in a pinch. PROS: when ever i call and ask if they have something, the person on the phone takes the time to look for me(i love that). I was looking for Toy Story toys a while back and they put me on a list and every time something came in — they called me! super nice! i get all my POLO stuff for my son here. super cheap and great quality. i do sell things to them on occasion. i always get store credit. i know its not as much as i would like to get back — but for me its easier than selling on yard sale websites. i go in, drop off and im done. CONS: i feel like you should get a little bit more for clothes. i understand its a business but i feel like they could up the payout a little bit. sometimes the girls at the counter can be a bit rude. but i really think its because they are checking in clothes so fast and dealing with people who might have wanted more cash.

Just like everyone else says, the prices are too high for more than moderately used items. But what convinced me to review this sham store is that on several occasions my wife has found the original price tag attached to an item that has a Kid To Kid price on it that’s well above that original cost. And their staff has not been any help. Example: wife found a pair of shoes with a $ 6 original price tag and a $ 12K2K price. The girl at the counter said«well I can do $ 6.99.» My wife told her that was still above the original price and finally worked them down to $ 3. But seriously?! Does the girl think my wife is stupid? Is this how they’re trained to handle this? We’re done with Kid 2 Kid.

There was nothing«gently used» in this store. I went to check it out because I wanted an exersaucer and a high chair. They were charging $ 80 for a chico high chair that I have seen around $ 130 new. I thought it was a bit expensive for something used and I mean USED. It was rusty and dirty looking. They didn’t have much by way of «new» toys, which I guess is fair, but I wasn’t looking for an exersaucer from 6 years ago. I was hoping for a more freshly used piece that didn’t look terrible. The clothing is also over priced! I was poking around and found things from carter’s selling for $ 6. You can get Carter’s stuff online with promo codes NEW for less than that. The only promising thing I saw was the shoe selection. There were a couple of things that are probably about $ 40+ new selling for $ 7 and in not bad shape. I don’t know how baby footwear sizes works yet as my baby isn’t even crawling yet, but I might go back there one day for this only.

I have only good things to say about the staff, who are kind and efficient. Unfortunately, however, this just isn’t a good deal for either buyer or seller. I brought in several brand new items(still in packaging) that probably cost $ 5-$ 10 each, and I was offered only about $ 0.75 per item; I could have gotten 20% more in store credit, but that’s still not very much. Shoppers see nothing of this severe markdown; I looked at strollers and pack ‘n’ plays, hoping for a bargain, but the prices were very steep for obviously used items. There may be a good reason for this, such as high overhead, but at the end of the day, it just isn’t a very good deal.

Kid to Kid would get 1 star but increases to 2 since you can receive cash/credit the same day of consignment. My gripe is what little they take so it’s a waste. And they really don’t take the best stuff. I’ve seen them take Target shirts and turn down gap and polo items so clearly the counter girls know zero about quality or fashion. The store went down when the owners changed and the girls at the front are not friendly. I never shop here since they have a lot of crap on the shelves. The toy section is a joke and I chuckle at the signs asking people not to let their kids play with the toys. Most are horrible looking already. I don’t consign here anymore since I’ve discovered several higher end more friendly stores. Not worth it to make $ 30 here and use it in gas getting here.
