My Old Place Bakery

Small bakery with above average baked goods at below average prices. Their selection isn’t as vast as some of the other bigger guys, but regardless, if you want a birthday cake for your kid, even at the last minute, this is a solid place to go to. You and your guests won’t say it is the best cake evah, but they will compliment you and ask where it came from. Far and away better cake than any of the grocery stores in the area. Maybe even a bit cheaper. This place is close to me, so I will continue to get birthday cakes from here.

Stopped at this bakery while I was on my way to a meeting. I wanted to pick up something to enjoy with my coffee. Ran into the owner. I asked if he had a cream cheese frosted donut with cherry filling. He was surprised that I asked for a cherry filled donut and stated that he doesn’t sell to many donuts and does not carry a variety as they would not sell well for him and instead offered me a cherry filled Danish. I took his advice and opted for the Danish. It had a cinnamon swirl and was garnished with a streusel topping and icing. Portion was huge; the Danish was big enough for two. The cherry filling was mediocre. What made the Danish memorable was its thick and rich glaze like icing. This bakery offered other assortments and seemed to even take cake/​pie/​pastry orders for the holidays and other occasions.

It is hard to find good sticky buns, they have the best that I have come across in a while. Package of 8 baked fresh daily. I have tried both with and without the nuts. I can’t comment on anything else they make, as all I have tried are the Sticky Buns, my wife sends me for these quite often.

Yummy, rich cheesecake

Good sticky buns at $ 6.75 for eight large ones. Better than most around here. Good service. Takes preorders for the holidays.

Oh, but the service was great!
