The facility isn’t impressive, but the vodka is good, and the gin is great! They have a small fee for a tasting and they are very nice people. If you’re right up the road tasting the«candy» vodka, drive 5 minutes and taste some quality spirits.

It’s not flashy, but it gets the job done. And by the job, I mean getting you tipsy. Dripping Springs is in, obviously, Dripping Springs. They run tours at scheduled times and they’re $ 10(so less than Deep Eddy but you don’t get the cocktail). You’re taken through the plant first, which has the stills in the back and then the bottling in the front. What’s amazing is still how much is done by hand, like putting on the caps or working with the oranges to create orange flavoured vodka. It’s still a very small organization. And then at the end, you get a shot(and a generous shot) of each of the styles of alcohol they make and you keep the shot glass. I can’t tell you another spot that would get you drunkish for $ 10. A winner of a day for sure.

A bit of a drive out of Austin but a good opportunity to see the countryside. I learned a lot about distilling vodka and how the water used can change the taste. I even tried a gin they make that I didn’t hate, which I usually do, thanks to their added ingredients. They were very friendly and knew their stuff. I challenge you to go into any bar, learn all this, get 4 shots, keep the shot glass, and pay $ 10.00. Nope. Not gonna happen.
