The crab fries were very good. Chicken Parmesan and ravioli were both excellent. The shrimp scampi was ok, wouldn’t recommend it(not a lot of good flavor, pasta was over cooked) my son had the boneless wings and said they were excellent. Very nice place, would definitely come back when we travel this way again.

Absolutely beautiful inside and out… They did a wonderful job! Our server was excellent! The downfall for me was the food… Initially I heard that the food was good but with small portions and the service was poor, granted we went on a Monday for early dinner… But we had great service with poor food. For an appetizer we had crabcakes… They were incredibly small and I just didn’t like the taste, and we had the spinach and artichoke dip… That was good :-) as the main dish we had Resoto with pork Ragu The pork Ragu was good, but The risotto taste like rice pudding… I got a fillet mignon with roasted potatoes the Roasted potatoes were very greasy and had a overpowering herb flavor… The steak was a little under done for my liking and wasn’t properly seasoned. For dessert we have the tiramisu, That was good :-)

OK, here goes. On November 11, 2015 a very large group of us(20) needed to find a place to eat. We called around and nobody could accommodate such a large group but this place. We had read the reviews both present and past and decided to give it a shot. Bottom line, we were glad we did. We were greeted with a friendly smile, promptly seated and not all crammed together. We had plenty of room. As our team started to roll in, we decided to start ordering appetizers and order we did. I’ll bet we ordered 1, 2 or even 3 of just about every appetizer they had on the menu. Stuffed mushrooms, sesame shrimp, quesadillas, wings, and frankly too many for me to remember. They were all absolutely delicious. We ordered drinks and entrées and everything came out timely and with a smile. Did I mention Jennifer was our server. She was fantastic. She had some help with members of the staff but she did most of the work and she did great. I had filet mignon which was excellent(pic attached), several others had the salmon, which they said was also very good and they did not skimp on the portions. We stayed for probably 2 ½ hours and we were never rushed. Overall it was a pretty good experience, we had a few laughs, had some great food and good drinks and we will definitely be back. There really isn’t anything negative to report so I’ll just leave it at that. Why only four stars then? As I often state, one must leave room for improvement.

We stopped into Theodora’s as a last resort option, with a nearby diner AND pizza place being closed. I’m quite glad we ended up where we did. It’s quite a nicely laid out and decorated restaurant, looks perfect for a classy date night option. We were seated quickly and our server was prompt and kind. The food took a little while longer than might be expected. That being said, everyone’s food came out hot, delightful and correct. I had the Ahi sandwich and it was quite tasty. None of my dining companions left much on their plate. Plus they have a full bar with rotating seasonal beer selections. It’s hard to know what to expect out of an off-the-road kind of food stop, and we’ve certainly had some very unsatisfying meals based on necessity of location, but I’m happy to report that Theodora’s is an oasis from such concerns. It’s been bookmarked and we’re sure to make it a regular stop on our East-West travel.

This place is delicious. Food does take awhile, but the service is friendly and everything was truly yummy. French dip, tuna panini and NY cheesesteak special were all delightful. Great garlicky green beans too. Craft beer seasonal selection was on point. If you’re in a rush, go somewhere else. We enjoyed our lunch here. Also, not sure why they have three dollar signs. Thought it was super reasonably priced.

I haven’t been to this restaurant in a few months. I tried it several times and got the same result each time. Cafeteria quality food. Not an interesting menu. Service was so painfully slow. Unfortunately the restaurant is beautiful and it’s one of the few places you can actually eat outside in the warmer weather.

Much better than it was, but still some problems. Lovely fish with crab, and the veggies were perfectly cooked(how often do you get al dente asparagus around here?). Bread, not even good supermarket bread. Noisy, and where we sat, every time the front door opened we were hit with a cold breeze.

I had high hopes and excitement visiting this restaurant for dinner on a quiet Sunday evening. Even tho the reviews gave the impression the place is very mismanaged, the menu looked very appetizing, the chef seeming to have a great culinary flair, I was dying to try. Unfortunately, every detail was a terrible experience, aside from the beautiful setting and tremendous décor and ambiance. First, our waiter knew NOTHING about every single question we asked, from the beers they carry, to the specials, to what was in dishes… to even what sauce n sides are supposed to come w shrimp cocktail(uh…cocktail sauce n a simple lemon…). Again, we tried to over look maybe a terrible server, hoping for a killer meal. No so much… not in the slightest! The scallops were rubber along w the rest of the seafood dishes. Not even tolerable, and I am never one to not finish seafood. They«fresh» oysters were bad, like biting into rotten fish poo. The vegetables tasted and looked straight out of a freezer bag that sat too long, the steak tasting tough. and the list is endless. Apparently only 1 person in the establishment knows what horseradish is as it took multiple questions and 20 minutes to find some. WIth all the seafood they offer, no idea why no one can find the horseradish. All in all, Theodoras seems to have potentially everything to be successful, but is a complete overpriced flop. Maybe their burgers are good, I have no idea, but I will never go back. Whoever is in management, and whatever Sous chefs are working while the main chef is off duty are COMPLETELY slacking, without care and clueless. Now I see why after over a year of them being open, the parking lot continues to be empty. Looks like a multi million dollar beautiful restaurant that will very soon go bankrupt as no one wants to fix the problems at hand, VERY clearly stated in a plethora of reviews on FB, Unilocal and Trip Advisor.

We came here after a day of golfing and showed up around 7pm or so. As we were a larger group and wanted to enjoy the nice outdoor patio and live music, we had to split up into separate tables as they opened up which I didn’t mind at all. Make sure that you call in advance if you want to get some seating as the atmosphere is great and the service was friendly and helpful as well. Getting to the food, for starters we ordered the spinach artichoke dip that was more cheese than anything else that wasn’t easy on the stomach and the quesadilla that seemed a bit skimpy with its chicken and cheese filling. For my entrée, I went with the cowboy pork chop that was accompanied with mashed potatoes and broccoli that was a bit overcooked and the sides were average. Overall, the food was sub-par and I wouldn’t order anything again. Just for the good atmosphere and drinks, I would definitely come back. If you ask me to order something, I would definitely go with all different items next time. When it was said and done, the prices were very reasonable and it came out to about $ 40/person with a couple of cocktails, tax and tip. Enjoy.

Horrible service. Waited 30 minutes for a drink. Here an hour didn’t get appetizer yet. There are four in my party gave us 3 pieces of bread. Feel sorry for server kitchen is so slow. Server is so nice I feel sorry for her dealings with an absolutely horrible kitchen.

Stopped for a late lunch and easy jump off 81 south before we resume our trip on 80W. Very attentive service from Cari and attractive décor. Our orders included sandwiches(french dip, BLT) and pasta(ravioli and kid’s spaghetti). All very good and generous. Hand cut fries were very good. Great iced tea(sweet or unsweetened). Would enjoy this place often if we lived nearby. May make it a landmark for future cross country travels.

I really want to like this place since it’s 5 mins from my house and cosmetically, it’s really nice. …but, we’ve been here several times for drinks and snacks. The experience and service have always pushed us away from actually dropping cash on dinner. This last time, we had dinner somewhere else, then decided to stop for dessert and to give Theodora’s another chance. We went to the outdoor patio which is beautiful, nice décor, nice full service bar. The bartender was eating something with her hands behind the bar and shoved another mouthful in after we sat down. She didn’t wash her hands before coming over to serve us. She either doesn’t know our doesn’t care how to properly pour a pint of Irish stout. We ordered desserts. A few minutes later, she came back to tell me that she«had no clue» that they were out of cheesecake. I picked something else. From that point, it took over 25 minutes for the 2 desserts to come out. Most of that time, the bartender was MIA, and my beer was empty for a good 10 mins before she came back and filled it(not in a fresh glass). Desserts were just ok. Other times we had been here, at the bar inside, the bartender(s) would disappear for prolonged periods or not be there for 10 minutes after sitting down. Once ordered some takeout wings(tasty but pricey) and a chicken caesar salad(a tiny side salad sized portion for $ 12) and waited 45 mins longer than what they said. Management and training and quality of service is really lacking. There are often like 4 – 5 runners, busboys, servers milling about not doing anything, but the bartender is nowhere to be found. It seemed like the tables seated outside were waiting really long for their food. This place is really nice in terms of décor and fixtures but that is not going to keep people coming back if service is terrible. I don’t even consider it a good spot to stop for a drink since getting service or refills is always a struggle. I want this place to be awesome so I have a go-to place close by, but for now, I’ll keep heading elsewhere.

Excellent food and excellent service!!! Our server Ashley was fantastic! Answered every question we had and made great recommendations! The calamari is wonderful and the sesame tuna appetizer… Well let’s just say I don’t have words that can say how wonderful it is… New England clam chowder is fantastic and the entrée selection is superb and extremely fresh!!! We had the colossal crab which is truly melt in your mouth delicious and the scallops brûlée which were rich and amazing as well! The crème brûlée is apparently chef Drew’s signature desert and certainly does not disappoint!!! Love the food and the service! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Last night(6⁄26) was our 5th wedding anniversary. My wife had been wanting to check this place out for some time, so I surprised with the news of my getting a reservation for the night. When I made the reservation, the clerk asked if this was for any special occasion, and under the impression that she was making a casual inquiry, I mentioned it being our anniversary. I didn’t think more of this until we arrived and checked in. The hostess had apparently been informed of the occasion and wished us a Happy Anniversary without hesitation. Our waitress was also appraised of the occasion and gave her own greetings. Two managers on floor were also attentive to all of the patron’s needs. The food was quite excellent. I had the prime rib, which was on special(I chose the queen cut), which was done to perfection with no rough spots and just the right amount of fat. The smashed potatoes had some garlic I wasn’t expecting but were well done. The seasonal vegetables were a nice touch. I rarely do food porn shots but the dinner’s presentation was too good to not preserve on an Instagram post. Total cost of the meal was a little over $ 50 for two people… file under worth it. We avoided appetizers and dessert, so we cannot comment on either. In a future visit we are already planning to check out their patio and sample their bar food and the attendant atmosphere. I’ll append or add to this review then. Beyond that, this place was worth the effort and the price.

For such a fancy place, you’d think when the bartender is busy the other people standing around could take my order. Anyhow, I finally got to order and already had my beer, so I was good. Going NE Clam Chowder, side salad(not on menu) and Customized Angus Burger. I’m hoping it’s great. And for the price and upscale ambience it should be. Chowder was super tasty but the clams hard. Not chewy but hard. Side salad was cold, crisp and fresh. But a common theme came to light here. Most of the staff seemed to be total novices. Young and inexperienced. Just before my salad was brought out, I was asked if I wanted crumbled or creamy bleu cheese. Both the bartender and I were taken by surprised and in our evident confusion, the extra staffer said he’d bring out both. I just figured the chef here would have that figured out. The entire time, various extra staffers(busboys?) would hang behind the bar. «What’s vermoose?», one asked. Another, said I thought that stuff(Bombay Sapphire) would come out blue. God bless Sonny because even though I could tell he wasn’t a trained bartender, he seemed to keep the place together. And listening to the cliquey clients(locals), they were willing to put up with just about anything for this place to remain in business. Finally, my burger was brought to me. And disappointing it was. My expectations were way high since the Chef put his name on the menu! The meat was somewhat bland, lacking spices and primarily some salt. The bun was too much bread and the presentation of all with the chips and pickles was lacking. My Swiss cheese wasn’t melted and it was just missing«care». Lastly, getting me check was painful. When Sonny finally had time, running my card was delayed due to some other customers charge creating a computer glitch. At least a 15 minute exercise. Summation: –3 stars because the locals really need to place to stay in business –3 to 4 stars because the outdoor deck is probably a blast in nice weather –2 stars for issues to be improved upon 3 T’s are needed in my opinion; Trim your staff, train the remaining, tighten up the prices or presentation of under $ 20 foods. Oh, and give Sonny a raise or financial interest to stay.

This restaurant was a nice place to go to for something new. The outside of the restaurant is somewhat plain, but the décor inside is upscale and modern. They have a decent menu and the prices were reasonable. I got the special salmon of the day, which came with peas and wasabi sauce. My fish was dry and I felt my dish was lacking, but I am giving 4 stars instead of 3 because the other salmon, and everyone else’s dishes were pretty good. I did enjoy the seafood salad(had a good portion of shrimp and crab), which was big enough that it could have been served as a main dish.

We had a wonderful dinner tonight at Theodora’s. It was our first time there and wanted a nice place to take our family to celebrate Valentine’s Day. There were 9 of us and all our meals we delicious. Five of us had steak– filet and New York Strip. It was cooked exactly as requested with delicious fresh green beans. The remaining four had chicken parm, scallops, and chicken. All great. The service was exceptional which is a hard find in the Hazleton area. The manager, waitress(Jennifer), and water attendant were very attentive and friendly. To top it off, the friendly hostess gave all the woman/girls are bouquet of tulips when we were leaving. Nice surprise! We’ll definitely be back again. Anxious to try the outside deck in the summer.

Please read below for about the most in depth review I can write: I have mixed feelings about Theodora’s. I went there on 8÷8÷2014, a Friday night. Background — I love food. I’ve lived in lots of food towns, eaten in some serious restaurants. Went with my 5 year-old daughter and a friend. Atmosphere — attempted to make a nice restaurant, but the setting is not terribly intimate. I think they did an ok job with what they had as the bones of the old restaurant. They obviously spent some money on the décor. You could feel at home wearing khaki’s, jeans, or shorts. I felt my daughter there was just fine for those with reasonably behaved kids. It was not terribly loud(but not crowded inside when I was there). Service — Friendly, but it was quite slow. No problem unless you have a 5 year old. Took 20 minutes to serve desert after ordering it. Menu — Reasonable variety, but it was lacking veggie options that aren’t pasta beyond an eggplant dish(which sounded good, but I had eggplant for lunch). Here’s a wrap of dinner: Appetizers — We ordered some steamed clams. They were good for not being on the ocean. I have no gripes here. could have been cleaned a bit better(remember, I’m picky). I ordered a house salad — It was decent. Not HUGE, which is a plus. House balsamic I found good. Entrees: 1. My daughter — Kids meal mac and cheese — I was actually really impressed. Usually kids meals are tasteless. My daughter almost always gets the mac and cheese, and it’s usually from a box. this was not. The mac and cheese(while lacking some seasoning, just needed some salt) had a few cheeses and was nicely baked. Kudos to theodoras for making a decent kids meal. She had ice cream for desert. I didn’t try it. Ice cream(mostly) is ice cream. 2. My friend had the surf and turf. It had a side of sqaush and peppers and mashed garlic potatoes. the ups — the veggies were really really good. They tasted farm fresh and were prepared nicely without being overcooked. Maybe too much sauce, but seasoned nicely. The lobster — overcooked. Too bad, because it seemed like a decent tail albeit obviously frozen. The steak — cooked appropriately but had this — just AWFUL and sweet — sauce that was poured on top, totally smothering it. Look, a good filet speaks for itself. At least put the sauce on the side. PLEASE. It just… ruined the meat. It was like crappy gravy over meatloaf. NONONO. Potatoes were a bit dry, needed more garlic and some salt, but they tasted like real mash, so that’s good. Cheesecake was apparently«ok». I didn’t try it. 3. I had scallops with the same sides. Again, veggies were really quite good. Scallops were cooked nice. They had nice color. They were in a mushroom/cheese sauce and covered in cheese. Overall, I enjoyed them, like a 7⁄10. I think they would be better served over the sauce and without the cheese. The cheese is not necessary. They seemed smothered as well. The dish would stand well without it. The sauce had good flavor, but it was a bit overly greasy. I had crème brûlée. It was burnt a bit but otherwise fair. In summary, I think this could be a good restaurant. The prices are reasonable to high for the area. I think the prices would be completely justified if some slight changes were made and the some of the higher-end proteins were cooked properly(lobster was the only thing over-cooked to be fair) and allowed to stand for themselves instead of being smothered in sauce. I hope they keep using a beautiful seasonal veggie side dish as they did tonight. That was fantastic. I’ll probably give it another try. I could make it a regular place if they fixed some of the issues as above. Maybe I’ll try some of the other dishes. I purposefully choose these things because they appeared to be some of the more technically difficult to prepare foods on the menu, and I wanted to test their kitchen. There’s an outside patio. We ate inside. The outside looked really awesome(5 year old vetoed being a bit chilly), but I suspect 309 running next to it makes it a bit noisy. The torches added a cool ambiance. Hope this helps you. If you haven’t been there, I would give it a try. You may be less picky and find this great, or they are still ironing out the kinks in this relatively new restaurant. Support a place that’s not a chain! Cheers.
