Tonight was my second time to this location and it’s always awesome. I don’t know why I never think of this place on my own. My girlfriend and I brought a menu home tonight though, so hopefully that helps keep the Meadows in our rotation. Otherwise, it’ll always be a pleasant treat when it does come up.

Get off I-80 and get into Meadows. These cones are fresh, soft, and wonderfully creamy. I could kick myself knowing how many times I’ve driven by Dubois without stopping, when this custard spot had been in business for over 50 years! Me and my honey ordered a peanut butter shake and a black raspberry truffle cone. A

Great stop off of a long trip on I80. This is a perfect sweet treat stop. I really like frozen custard even with all of its fat content. It is about 2 miles off the exit but it was worth it. I ordered the Peanut Butter Ice cream Cone for around $ 3. I was expecting 1 – 2 less scoops than I got, it was huge. medium is easily enough for one person. I would recommend a small unless you are really hungry or sharing. I shared a little to my little one so I’d didn’t feel as guilty eating it all. The custard is creamy and delightful. They have around 6 – 8 favors which are your basic flavors. I didn’t see anything that stood out as unique as they keep it simple. They have blizzard type treats, Italian ice options, and shakes. I also saw a few people get their sundaes which are gigantic. The down side to this place is the location as it is in a strip mall with only a few chairs outside. It would be great if they could get a few picnic tables and a grassy aa for customers to relax in. The inside looks like a diner so you can order and sit in the AC as well.

In a battle of custard vs. ice cream, custard wins every time, especially if you’re ordering at one of the numerous Meadow’s locations throughout western/central PA. Whether visiting DuBois, Clarion, Indiana or Altoona, I’ve never been disappointed with any of the homemade custard flavors(esp. Chocolate Peanut Butter) or my usual go to, Turtle, with hot fudge, caramel and pecans. YUM!
