Super 8 Duquoin

I too do not plan on staying at this hotel if I’m ever in the town again. Unwelcoming and unfriendly staff, dated décor, and dirty. It did smell like smoke. Bed was uncomfortable. I normally unpack my bags immediately when I get to a hotel, nice and neat from suitcase to dresser drawers. I was so uncomfortable that I lived out of my suitcase for two nights. Only eight channels on the TV. It was difficult to figure out the sink faucet, it was either too hot or too cold. I did check for bed bugs before settling in and couldn’t find any.
Best part was the high pressure shower. Also, because the hotel was so small, the room was on the first floor and we were able to get to our car easily. Not enough reasons to stay there again.

The review before mine is fairly accurate, though I’m not sure how a noisy AC leads to a one star review when the place is described as fresh, clean, and well maintained.
It’s an economy motel with everything you’d expect from that. The owners maintain it well and are always responsive to issues, rooms are clean. There is no pool and breakfast is basic but reliable. It’s also located right across from the main storefront and some restaurants.

While I don’t plan to stay here again soon, the other reviews don’t match my experience. The air conditioner was ridiculously loud, the building is old and feels like it. That said, the room I stayed in was clean, had new a new and comfortable mattress and the room did not smell at all of smoke. The room had a fresh coat of paint and the building had newer carpet throughout. Plan to go out for breakfast though, the offerings in house are skimpy.

Absolutely terrible. I was in town for christmas. booked for 2 nights. My first red flag was the stench that hit me when I opened my room door. it is like someone smoked in there but was trying to cover it with carpet deodorizer. The bed is hard and old. The pillows were aweful. The walls are thin and I was woke up at 430 in the morning to what can only be described as hooker sex. In the morning, I was ready for breakfast. The waffle batter was rotten and sour. The employee made a new batch but I was too nervous to try it. Other than waffles, there was only cereal and a danish. On my second day, something came up and I needed to cancel my upcoming night. The employee refused to allow the cancelation and I had to eat the 65 dollars. Yes, 65 dollars for one of the worst motels I have ever seen. Horrible place. Horrible customer service.

The filthiest most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed. Jacuzzi in the «Suite» had duct tape on the jets and was full of black mold. The wallpaper in the bathroom was ripped and the towel bar was missing. The sink looked like there were feces in it. The carpet was torn and filthy. The supposed queen bed was a convertible. Full size sofa bed, flat and with a couple disposable pillows. Air conditioning was noisy… cigarette burns were all over the flea market furniture…
