$ 7.99 for AYCE for DINNER? UMMM. I only went here cause my normal AYCE mongolian bbq joint(Golden Palace) was closed on Tuesdays. I love the Great Khan’s in the arcadia mall but it’s hard to have a relaxing dinner there. Compared to Great Khan’s(which is not AYCE) this place is not as good. Part of that reason is Great Khan’s knows exactly how much sauce and what sauce they need to add to make your noodles taste delicious(and they give you alot). It’s all up to you to ladle the sauces so your first plate may end up sucking. NOTE, the sauces here are ‘diluted’ so you need to add alot more sauce then you think in order for your noodles to be flavorful. It has all the normal meats, veggies, and sauces you would find at a mongolian bbq, as well as egg rolls, wontons, soups, and rice. The biggest problem I had with this place was the noodles tasted meh. They had some kind of weird taste to them, I don’t know how to describe it that well other than that it kind of took away from the veggies and meat. Conclusion? My other friends liked the place but we all agreed it was lower quality then Golden Palace over at Pasadena. But you get what you pay for. Go here if you’re feeling cheap or if you have to do to go. Mongolian Hashen, 1 bowl to go(4.99) 2 bowls to go(6.99) Golden Palace, 1 bowl to go(6.99) Great Khans, 1HUGE bowl(8.99 or 9.99?)

Thee nastiest Mongolian food i have ever had. For one you take the time to put all the sauces on the meat, just to have the unprofessional cook put several bottles of water on it while hes cooking, this washes all the flavor you put in it away. Upon getting our food back we noticed there was a roach on the roof above us, before we can get a bite in we told the server she can have that nasty food back and demanded our money. Once we did so we pointed out the roach we were refunded and went on our way. Such a nasty place it should be shut down.

A friend raved about this place so decided to try. The sauces seemed watered down so its not very tasty. Rather pay $ 1 or 2 more at the place at the mall. My bad for listening to a hakugene on which place has good Asian food.

The guy that was cooking is really nice but the food was blah! There was not much vegetables and the cilantro was so little and tiny that it was floating in the water in their little container place. The egg drop soup was ok. You have to go to the counter to pay your check. My husband wanted to have another soda refill but the lady wasn’t around. They don’t check your table either :(I don’t know If I want to try this place again.

Well, you get what you pay for. I could see why many people come here. It’s about $ 7, probably $ 11 with tax and tip. That’s relatively inexpensive for an all you can eat buffet. I enjoyed the concept more than anything else-creating your own stir fry essentially. But what it lacks is quality. The vegetables were not too fresh and neither was the meat. I would totally be willing to pay more if the quality and freshness was better. But I dont really see that happening in this place. I wont be coming back on my own. The only reason I would return is if my boyfriend wanted to. He loved it, had about 5 plates. But I should add he was on the toilet for a good 30 minutes later that night. Dont forget to tip the nice man that grills your veggies and meat!

Terrible experience. The food didn’t taste fresh… seemed like it was leftover food from earlier in the day. What’s worse was the lady killing flies with the fly swatter in front of us… She was killing flies where the vegetables are & didn’t even bother covering the food while she swatted at the fly. Then she actually killed a fly at the booth next to us, dropped it on the floor & stepped on it! I guess she was making sure it was really dead. We lost our appetite & didn’t finish our food. We talked to her & let her know how we felt… she said sorry, smiled & didn’t care. We payed for our food but will never return. Sick to our stomachs.

As of now they brought back the Chinese salad dressing. Happy stomach = happy man(ancient Duarte proverb).

This review is based on take out. We got there 30 min before closing so we decided to get it Togo. I’m not the type to dine in right before closing– I’m sure they were ready to clean up and go home. Anyway– what’s great about this place is that it’s only $ 6.99 all day & it’s all you can eat. They also offer a salad bar w/fruit && on the other side I saw 2 soups which looked like egg drop soup & hot & sour soup. There was also fried rice & some sort of beef dish that was already cooked and ready. The cook was nice & the lady that helped us was super nice. She noticed I was looking at the sauces on the table and ran over with some Togo containers so I could take some. I thought that was good service! I usually go to the Mongolian place off of Rosemead & Colorado but I Will def be coming back to this one since it’s much closer to me.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years. This was a place that me and my family would frequent all the time. NOW it’s just a shell of it’s former self. The food is pretty much the staff, luckily the cook hasn’t been changed. He’s always been super nice and very fast. I’m just not a fan of this place since the new ownership, as a matter of fact; the new manager of this restaurant is kind of rude. After getting my drink, I was never checked up on; not for a refill, to see if I needed anything, or just to chat. The only time she came to talk was when I asked for the check, but that’s when I asked for some sesame bread. She ended up bringing it, but started to go on about how I shouldn’t order it the next time I come in and how it slows them down when they’re busy. She then told me that she only brought it because I must have been there before. Seriously? The place wasn’t even busy. There was a maximum of 9 people total in the restaurant at the time! She obviously didn’t want to have it made since it must have put her to work or something. Regardless of the reason, she shouldn’t have talked to me in that way.

My parents absolutely love this place and they brought me to try it out the other day. It is $ 6.99 per person. It is set up as a bar where you fill bowls up with an assortment of vegetables, noodles, and a variety of meat(chicken, pork, beef, and goat) and the chef cooks it up for you. I felt that it was alright… it was good for the price paid. The other food they had to offer didn’t seem fresh and was cold for the most part… the only thing hot was the soup. The fruit seemed like it had been out for hours and their fried rice was alright. The customer service was slow… probably because it was one server brining everyone their drinks… it took about 10 minutes just to get glasses of water and there was barely any people there. Aside from that, the chef and the server was really nice and friendly with my parents and I liked that. I wasn’t the biggest fan of my experience but I am willing to give them another chance just because my parents enjoy going there and they are very nice to my parents.

Can’t beat the price. 6.99 for lunch or dinner. They have a 10 stamp card where you get 1 free after 10. The mongolian BBQ selection is decent. They have the basic meats: Chicken, Lamb, Beef, Pork. Different items in the selection such as bell peppers, mushrooms. Hint: Look to the left and pick up item sfrom the salad bar like Spinach or water chestnuts. good additions. It’s heavily geared toward the mongolian bbq, so the other items aren’t as standoutish. They have vegetarian fried rice, some eggrolls or fried item, some other meat dish(bbq ribs), and some soup. I did find the sauce choices overwhelming, and hard to balance with what I was cooking. but if anything, make it light, and you can season it more to taste later on. The reason for 5 stars? 6.99 is cheaper than you can get mongolian BBQ anywhere else, and that’s for 1 plate. Here, it’s AYCE.

The first time we went the food was GREAT, not overpriced or anything. And I got a lot of food like a silly person as always. It was buffet hour and after we were done eating they actually let us take our food home without extra charge. So of course we come back. They recognized us from last time and seated us and after we are we didn’t have too much on our plate but still wanted to take it home. They wouldn’t let us unless we paid them. We were completely scammed by these people. I felt betrayed by my own kind.

Very good place. The food is decent but most important is that the owner and staff are extremely nice. The price is excellent and the food is good. 6.99 all you can eat holiday special dont know how long it will last but its been that price for more than a month now.

Update: this place is under new management now. And way better management than the last I must say. Customer service was great. The food is good. I’m glad the previous owners sold it.

All I gotta say is that the price and experience here is fine for me. I mean it’s been around this price range since my dad worked in this area… and that’s like a decade ago. The previous owner(Mongolian-Chinese) sold the place to some northern Chinese folks I believe. It’s just regular Mongolian BBQ; sub-par quality meat stuff; doesn’t really matter as long as it feeds me. $ 7.99 a person I believe for lunch. I mean you come here to eat, not experience fine dining. The bread and soup is free now by the way. The Latino guy who works at the wok has been there forever. I always leave him a tip.

My friend and I were stumped on what to eat on this particular day and our consensus was ‘noodles’ of some kind. After a back-and-forth debate we finally decided, hey why not some Mongolian barbecue? Great Khan’s was the first choice that came to mind. It was a perfect choice. the only problem was it’s located in the Santa Anita mall nearby, and we really did not want to deal with all the side effects that come with having to go to the shopping mall. It’s a hassle. first we have to get there, then we would have to circle the parking lot to find the most optimal parking space, and then finally get to the food court. No! Not on this day! Then came — hey! Isn’t there a Mongolian BBQ place on Huntington Dr. near the McDonald’s and KFC? Oh yeah! I remember that… vaguely. Never tried it. Well then let’s go! Adventure time! So we decided to give this place a try. We didn’t even know it was called«Hashen». The restaurant was always right there but we never gave it a second thought to give it a try. We found out why. Everything about the place is bland. The meat becomes so dry once it hits their grill, a testament to the quality of meat they purchase… Presentation of their ingredients bar is so bad, the décor is so worn down. How bad is it? It’s a buffet, and after one bowl we left and got Popeye’s Fried Chicken instead. In hindsight, we should’ve just went to Great Khan’s.

I was in a hurry to grab some lunch before I got back to work in the afternoon. I never pay attention to this place. I was originally thinking to go to El Pollo Loco right next door. Since I pulled in my car to the parking lot next to it. I decided to go try it. I think that it is a ok restaurant for the fact that it is a all-you-can-eat BBQ. Food will be cooked after you fill up the bowl(like other Mongolian BBQ places) and hand over to the cook. By the way, you can save like about $ 1 if you just to do one round instead of unlimited rounds. I gave 3 stars only because of the cleaniness and the décor of the place. However, they do have friendly staff members.

Owner is nice, space is simple, nothing fancy. The cost includes Mongolian BBQ& all the other appetizers & condiments around the food area. I thought the sauce variety was nice, flavors that you can adjust & modify to your preference. Overall, my Mongolian BBQ product tasted very good. I think Khan’s Mongolian franchise at the mall has better qualify proteins. The beef here was chewy. If I’d ever crave Mongolian BBQ, mainly for the noodle, vege & sauce mix, I’d come back here, but would try another protein or just use tofu if they have. For the cost of $ 8.99(1 bowl, appetizers, condiments) or $ 9.99(all you can eat, bowls &ALL) per visit, decent taste, good selection of items for the bowl, not having to stand in long line & pick from messy bins, I think 4-star is about right. Quick & good eat.
