I love this store! I’ve been shopping here for two years. They have most of what I need and the rest they order and have shipped to me at no extra charge. The staff is very helpful and always nice and smiling! Something you don’t see often in customer service anymore. I wish it were closer to home but worth the trip every time!

Great music store. Easily the best in the tri-valley area. Not only did they have the song books I needed in obscure keys that are hard to find but the place is tidy, organized and professional. Most music stores in the area are messy dumps piled to the rafters with chaotic sheet music. Pepper is for pros!

I had been looking for a place that sells sheet music in the east bay. I found out about JW on Unilocal and it had great reviews so I drove out the this morning. My biggest criticism is for the staff. I wandered around looking at music and not one of the two available workers offered assistance. As a matter of fact, when I entered, no one even acknowledged that I was there. After looking at piano books for an HOUR, I finally asked if someone could assist me. There were three employees in when I arrived at ten. One young man was very busy on the phone while two young females chatted and giggled away. I have an idea they get their customer service skills from their manager who arrived, went into his office, then made something to eat… and during this activity he did not acknowledge me either. Great customer service? No way! They do however have a great deal of sheet music and books for all types of instruments. After making the 30 mile trip, I did by about $ 95.00 worth of music. Which brings me to my next issue, I use a cane, so I had my cane, my purse, and some books. You would think that it would just be common courtesy to offer to take some of the books out of my hands so I could get around easier. Dave, who was off of the phones when I was ready to check out was kind and did apologize for their lack of customer service. I don’t think I will be making another trek out to JW Pepper again

This place is like a study hall/neat library /heaven for music lovers. It’s like Barns & Nobles but better for all musicians! You wouldn’t think its anything special from the tinted windows viewing from the outside — in fact, you might think it’s some computer company — tucked away in this industrialized street off of Dublin Blvd — but it’s not. As you walk in, it’s clean, spacious, yet full of rows of bookcases with any sheet music for your liking. Ranging from Popular genre(Glee, Lion King) to Classic(Bach, Tchaikovsky). I even found the Super Mario sheet music.(awesome!!). Too bad they are not open during the weekends most of the year.(In August, they will open on Saturday) so I will return again to hang out. Return policy seems easy going: as long as the book is in perfect condition. In fact, they allow you to have other books transferred from their warehouse, to have you come back and take a look, and if you happen to like the new book better, you can exchange for an earlier version you bought — as long as it’s in resold condition.
