If there’s ever a craving for accessible and quick Chinese, King’s Garden definitely fits the bill. Ever since moving closer to this area of town I often travel pass its location a hundred times or so, however, I’m glad that I eventually went in. The owners are a nice couple, always warm and courteous, definitely family owned. They sure can serve some amazing food! As previous reviewers have stated, there is two menus: one includes your typical Chinese American dishes and a Cantonese menu which is really worth a try! A common dish I always go to is the Salted Shrimp with Jalapenos, its salty, crispy and a hint of spiciness. Keep in mind it traditionally has the shell and head still intact, really good and addicting! A few other locations have the same dishes however, this location definitely makes it worthwhile. I recently tried their Cantonese fried chicken, really great flavors from their soy marinade and crispiness of the chicken’s skin. We like to mix it up occasionally with lo mein, sesame chicken which is equally well prepared. Everything just tasted right and definitely shows in the preparation of the food. There is a lot of hidden gems within this plaza and King’s Garden certainly being one of them. If you are ever up in this area of Dublin just off of Sawmill Rd. why not swing on in, take a seat and enjoy the freshly prepared dishes with hot tea. Take the time to enjoy the meal, your cravings and taste buds will thank you!

OK, so I’m not terribly sure how useful this review will be, because I’ve only been once and only got one thing. But I was happy! I went for the pickled vegetable/shredded pork noodle soup off the Cantonese menu — it was GOOD. Hit the spot — salty, yummy noodles. It’s not a terribly complicated dish, but they do it well. I’d like to go back to try some more things on the Cantonese menu — I’d stay away from the«American» menu. From the reviews and from what I saw the other people eating there, these people know how to do their Cantonese food well. The woman who greeted/served me was super nice, too.

What a surprise, the owners were the guys used to own Wong kee down by the campus, miss there food so much and I love to find them here. We have the fried whole chicken and fish with Chinese veg, good like the old days, will be back.

David and I were craving hot salty soups for lunch and after reading Alt Eats’ review of King’s Garden we had to make a visit. Just as Alt Eats writes, there are two menus to choose from– an Americanized menu and a Cantonese menu. David and I settled on the Fried Chicken Wings($ 3.95), Beef Stew Noodle/Rice Noodle Soup($ 6.75), and the Pickled Vegetable Shredded Pork Noodle Soup($ 6.50). David really enjoyed the crispiness of the wings and for $ 3.95 you really can’t beat it. The two lower pictures above are of the Pickled Vegetable Shredded Pork Noodle Soup– the left picture as it was served to me and the right picture after I mixed up the lovely greens from the bottom. My Pickled Vegetable soup was just what I wanted– salty, hot and hearty– full of thick, dense noodles and a generous portion of tasty pork and bok choy. David’s Beef Stew Noodle Soup was also good, but tendons really aren’t my thing(he loves them). His soup’s broth was spiced very differently than mine, with distinct notes of Chinese five spice. We both finished all our food happily. We had a great, satisfying lunch at King’s Garden, tucked away in a strip shopping center. The restaurant is rather small but the service is friendly and the food is good– and affordable! Other menu items include Shrimp Cakes($ 4.95); Baby Bamboo, Dry Tofu with Pork($ 8.95); Whole Cantonese Fried Chicken($ 14.95); Clams with Black Bean Sauce(market price); Salted Squid with Jalapeño($ 9.95); Malaysian Stir Fried Rice Noodle($ 9.95); Wonton Roast Duck Noodle Soup($ 7.50); Beef with Bitter Melon on Rice($ 6.95); and Preserve Egg with Pork Congee($ 5.50) to name a few. I will most certainly be returning to try other items on their Cantonese menu!

We got take out from hear tonight. We ordered 4 main dishes and an order of pot-stickers. The pot-stickers were the only decent items we ate. Everything was very bland and seemed to be prepared with very low quality ingredients. The shrimp wasn’t even deveined. The fried rice was a strange dark brown color. It’s sad because their food used to be pretty good.
