First time here. Not fancy, but clean and friendly service and authentic Mexican. If you want they will bring you a sample of three different meats to try and a sample of their Hibiscus tea. Nice touch.

A wonderful surprise off the beaten path. Nothing fancy here but the food is quick and great. Start with the queso. Try the fish taco. It’s tasty. So is the shrimp as well as deep fried pork. Why not experience the tongue taco? It’s definitely a conversation starter.

ICANTSAYENOUGH! this was an amazing meal — la joya in Spanish means the jewel and this place definitely lives up to the name — i had the la joya burrito with chicken and it was fantastic — my co-worker had the Sante fe burrito and the entire time he was eating it couldn’t stop talking about how good it was — we also ordered guacamole and Pico DE Gallo to have with what appear to be house made tortilla chips(which were pretty good) — the Pico was ok but the guacamole was really good overall this place is a must stop if you like Mexican and are in the area — shoot I might drive 2+ hours this weekend to come back up with the wife so she can experience it… the restaurant itself is lacking in appearance but the food way makes up for it — once again if you like Mexican food and you’re in the area stop here and eat some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had…

Still my favorite place. Don’t let friends eat Mexican anywhere else! Today I had the weekly special: Alambres… beef, chicken, shrimp and bacon fajitas with melted cheese, tortillas, rice and beans. Awesomeness!

Simply the best Mexican Resturant in South Georgia. Everything on the menu is great. This is actually Mexican food not an Americanized menu. The owners are there everyday and bring really joy to anyones meal. Worth a long drive for excellent food and service.

Delicious! Had dinner with the family. Nachos are home made and excellent for the Nachos appetizer. The nachos stay crisp as a result. The special was a chipotle burrito, wonderful tasting. The rice has a pink hue due to the authentic cooking. This was delicious as well. We were served hibiscus tea and goodness, that was refreshing. They even sang Happy Birthday to Mom and brought her a piece of cake, and as with everything else, it was perfect ending. We will certainly come back. In the words of my Niece, «That was the best Mexican Food Ever!» I have to agree!

What an awesome find. Great authentic tacos on fresh corn tortillas. The Pastor taco is a standout. The burrito is great with much better rice than your typical tex-mex spot. Servers are extremely nice and brought us a sample of three of their different pork options and the hibiscus tea which is delicious.

An unexpected, delicious lunch. We were traveling home to Atlanta from Hilton Head and decided to venture off Interstate 16. Based on others reviews, La Joya seemed to be a good spot. I’m happy to say, the other reviewers were spot on.. . it was fresh, flavorable, and fast. We had the nachos and the homemade chips are scrumptious. We will definitely stop in again our way to the coast.

What a fantastic hole in the wall restaurant! First the ladies bring out their 3 red meats, barbacoa beef, then carnitas & fried pork. So i had 2 of them in my enchiladas the carnitas in one and fried pork in 2. It was very good. These folks are from California and definately know their mexican phood. The rice is pink but that is because if you make your rice and put a salsa in while cooking your rice will take on a pretty color. Wifey had the spinach quesadilla with the barbacoe meat. DON’T FORGETTHECHORIQUESO! Chorizo in the cheese dip. Uuuhhh yer gonna need more chips for the dip.

On road trip… wanting something better that what I could get from the roadside chains. Just under 5 miles off the freeway. Sweet place, unexpectedly good food in a very unassuming place. I just wanted half a veggie burrito. This one came with super fresh ingredients including broccoli… I couldn’t stop eating at half. Only reason for the four stars is I had such a limited experience I really can’t say more than I’m happy I stopped. Nice collection of Mexican sodas with real sugar along with the usual choices. Sweet and unsweetened tea. The chips were made in house. Only slight downside was the salsa was good but the more traditional thickish red kind… perhaps house made but I couldn’t be absolutely certain. Really nice people and service. When it came time to go, they gave me a to go cup with even more tea in it.

This little gem has been hidden in Dublin all this time and I hate I’m just now trying them out! I’ll admit though, the first time I walked in here a few years ago, it was just a convenience type store with like two tables in the back. It is officially a restaurant now! I accidentally spoiled my appetite before I came(shame, I know, but my mom called last minute) so I only ended up getting a chicken taco and a shredded pork taco. Reminds me of being back in Houston with the food trucks! Authentic tacos on corn tortillas with cilantro and onion and a fresh lime on the side. The chips were thick and freshly made along with their salsa. So awesome! Thank you for transporting me back to Texas. My fiancée ordered the La Joya burrito and my momma got a chicken quesadilla. I absolutely loved the quesadilla! It was covered in white cheese sauce, which is a bonus :) Our server was on point and amazing. They serve Jarrito drinks(never had one until today and I can’t believe I was missing out) as well as flavored teas. The two sauces the brought to the table, one red and one green, were both good, but be warned! The red sauce was HOT. I usually love hot things, trust me, but this sauce has a serious kick to it. I take off a star because they don’t serve any alcohol. And the pink hue rice threw me off, but I googled it and apparently it’s truly authentic Mexican rice. Not Tex-mex Spanish style rice we’re accustomed to. It’s a tomato paste and/or seasoning that gives it the color.

I hate to write poor reviews, I kept reading over the good reviews and wondered if this restaurant had changed hands! The people were very nice and service was good. Chips were thick and no taste, unfortunately the salsa, cheese dip or guacamole had no taste either and didn’t help. The tamales were dry and no taste. The rice was pink, no taste; the beans, no flavor. My husband has a beef dish that didn’t have any flavor. They don’t serve alcohol, so no margarita or sangria. We were quite disappointed after the good reviews.

There are several things my family and I miss about Texas. Authentic Mexican food was one of those things until we found La Joya! The staff is friendly, courteous and always helpful. The owner greets you with a smile every time you walk in and remembers her customers along with previous discussions. The tortas melt in your mouth. The combination of well seasoned meat, beans, guacamole, salsa, etc stuffed into the warm crusty bread is a wonderful sensation for your taste buds! The tacos remind me of our favorite food truck back home! Warm corn tortillas topped with your choice of meat,(I usually get steak), pico and a lime squeezed on top just has my mouth watering thinking about it. Oh and the burritos are amazing… my kids favorite! They do have an excellent kids menu too. Everything on the menu is exceptional!

This is LEGIT Mexican food. As someone who lived in LA for five years, I know what great Mexican is and La Joya is LEGIT. The Carnitas were EXCELLENT. Ask for Horchata!
