So i live in Portland, Oregon now & we have amazing food but the one thing i miss is VEALMORETTI! Honestly, i’m not even a «veal» person but their veal is amazing! It melts in your mouth. This place looks like a dump on the outside but is quite lovely inside. I would have never visited but heard about it via word of mouth. I can not wait for my next trip to Ohio just so i can eat here.

I’d say 4 ½ stars. Very yummy Marsala sauce. Large portions that could be shared. Salad was delicious. A little dark and sightly more expensive than it needs to be. We had a great meal. Happy Father’s Day.

You will find Moretti’s is located in a modest strip mall on Sawmill across from Sam’s Club and Home Depot. It has a unique family restaurant feel that is hard to find these days. While the dining area is slightly cramped with tables close together, it is usually busy for good reason. Reservations are a good idea on busy nights. You will see people here for family meals and it works well as a date spot. Another good option is you can eat at the bar where there is a good amount of space. They have a solid menu of choices and their pasta noodles, fettuccine, sausage, and even the butter that comes with the bread is homemade! And it is all good stuff. I really find it hard not to fill up on the bread with their homemade butter because it is so good. I am a huge fan of the pasta because of its more solid texture that works well in all of their sauces. Please note that it is on the pricey end with some specials running around $ 30 so be sure to take advantage of the weekday specials they have. I recommend Moretti’s if you are craving Italian food and they are the best option in town!

Don’t let the strip mall location of this Italian restaurant fool ya! With white table cloths, homemade pasta and entrees between $ 15-$ 25, Moretti’s is a place to go for a special occasion or when you’re wanting a large meal and then a large meal of leftovers for the next day. You are immediately served endless bread with garlic butter. THEGARLICBUTTER. It’s worth contemplating ordering a meal over because this bread n’ butter is satisfying and filling once you keep on saying, «okay, just one more slice!». Each entrée comes with soup or salad and this salad is certainly something Moretti’s is known for! It comes with romaine, tomatoes, green beans, noodles, balsamic vinaigrette and gorgonzola cheese if you want to spend $ 2 more. For some strange reason, the most recent time I went, all of the 12 girls I sat with commented on how salty the salad was. We still ate it up but probably a bad batch of dressing unless they spiked the sodium content in the recipe. I would recommend skipping the entrée portions of the menu and looking at the appetizers. You’ll find spaghetti, fettuccine alfredo and other pasta dishes for a few bucks less and maybe 5 bites shy of the regular dinner size(aka copious amounts food!). I’m confused on how a large plate of spaghetti could be shared by all before another large plate of your own but I’m not complaining! The tomato sauce has a little kick to it so if you’re anti-spicy, I would pass. The seating is relatively limited, the walk to the bathroom is ‘I hope someone doesn’t back out of their seat at the bar because I will get pinned again the wall’ and the service for a busy Saturday night was nothing to rave about. Probably not theee best Italian I’ve ever had but if you’re looking for something authentic, I would recommend!

I was terribly unimpressed with my experience here. All the reviews said it was great. I don’t know what everyone was eating but it was awful. I was celebrating my birthday. The tables are awkwardly placed. It was REALLY loud and difficult to have a conversation. I got the homemade veal ravioli. You could tell they were homemade because the dough was so thick it could double as a paperweight. They were bland and the size of lemons. The dish was more than $ 20 and absolutely not worth it. The salad and soup weren’t memorable at all. I only ate half of my meal because I was so disappointed with the whole experience. I won’t be back.

I really fell in love with this Italian restaurant and I know that I would definitely return some time! The cream cheese that came with the bread was one of the bests that I have ever had! Wedding soup came with the entrée was great as well! For entrée, I ordered chick Moretti and it tasted absolutely amazing! I wish I could have more capacity but I was already full with the bread and soup! Portion was generous. Service was fantastic! Such a wonderful dinner with friends!

Our new favorite Italian restaurant. Service was perfect! Food was more than enough and tasted homemade. The bread and butter were delish, large salad or soup with dinner. 6 of us, we had Chicken Moretti, shrimp and sausage, chicken piccata and chicken parm. Everyone loved their dinner. Good specials like $ 7 off chicken dinners on Monday. Good wine recommended by our server, appreciated that.

The best Italian in the country hands down. I’ve eaten here at least 30 times over the years and the food is always excellent. Every time I try something new it becomes an instant favorite. Catering is also great option for hosting larger parties.

Everything here is to DIE for! I never thought I would fall in love with Italian food after spending 2 weeks eating my way through Italy but this is as good as it gets. The fresh homemade pasta is incredible and the portion size feeds me the next day, sometimes even two! I’m an eater, not one to shy away without cleaning my plate, but the sizes here make the prices justifiable. My favorite is the cheese ravioli with the spinach noodles and the meat sauce — don’t be fooled by the small number, those 5 will fill you up. So authentic and full of flavor!

These days when I go out to eat for dinner and I have a bad meal, I get angry. Angry about the wasted time, money, and opportunity to eat good food. Well I’m kinda mad right now. I’m not sure if there is a connection from this Moretti’s and the one in Upper Arlington, but this Sawmill location is the extreme opposite of the UA one. The food here is plain awful. My entrée was preceded with a bowl of Italian Wedding soup. It was sooo salty that I couldn’t take more than a few bites of it. My husband got a salad and it was coated with salty salty dressing. He too only took a few bites and was done. I ordered just a plate of spaghetti and meatballs with marinara sauce. Thankfully this dish wasn’t overly salted, however it still wasn’t very good. It was just«meh». The sauce was pretty one note and uninteresting. The food not only was bad, but pretty overpriced. $ 16 for a plate of blah spaghetti? The one good thing I can say about this place is that the service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Ok. End of bad meal rant.

The ONLY good thing about this restaurant is the food… and it is really good. The service was extremely poor, the worst I’ve had in quite awhile, our table of 6 felt very rushed to eat and leave. Between her poor attitude, and the lights going up and down, I don’t know if it’s worth the drive to go back.

Stumbled on this place after reading Unilocal reviews. We were just looking for good pasta before the marathon. BEST Italian food we have ever had. Make sure you get a reservation as it gets packed. YOU must go! :-)

BEWARE!!! The owner is rude and shady billing practices are commonplace. My family and I visited the establishment last night while there were truly eight of us two of them were babies therefore we did not think that they would be included in the total guests. You see a party of eight or more and like most places they add an 18% gratuity to your check which is fine. The total of the bill came to $ 336 my husband rounded up to 400 and we left. in the parking lot I asked him how could the bill be that much I could not make it add up in my head. I went back in and asked to see the bill the hostess who told me she is also a server got the bill for me and I asked her to point out to me where the 18% gratuity was she admitted that she could not read the hand written check very well and had trouble finding where the server added it on. Keep in mind she has more light standing there than any of us do in this dark restaurant at any of the tables not to mention we were in the very back corner. She finally found some sort of small… very small scribbling where 18% had been added on. I simply scribbled out our $ 70 tip and re totaled the bill. I was upset because I felt that the server knew exactly what she was doing in making this not legible. I asked to talk to the manager the hostess went to get the manager came back out and informed me he was too busy to talk with me. I gave her my number and ask her to have Tommy the owner call me the next day. When he did not call I called him. he immediately was very brash I kept a very calm tone and explained the situation. He began to tell me that he nor his his server had done anything wrong and if I say they did that I am a liar those are his words a liar. I asked him why he was becoming so aggressive with me as I was very calm and trying to have an adult conversation. He continued to yell at me and call me names and tell me that he didn’t even have to have this conversation with me. I very calmly told him that neither myself nor my family would ever be back to the restaurant not because of the incident that happened last night but the way he the owner was handling a customer. His response to me was that he did not care he did not need our business he has a big enough business that he doesn’t need or want people like me in there. I have never in my life been spoken to the way he spoke to me. I told him that I believed the conversation needed to be over I wished him a good day as I was hanging up he called me a bitch. I will say the food there is pretty good the service was mediocre. We had to ask our server multiple times if we could have a refill on water. We had to ask multiple times if she would please clear our appetizer plates in order to give us more room because our food had come we were squeezed into the very back corner and we didn’t have very much room to begin with. She was not very friendly at all and it seemed like we were just an imposition to her. She also kept running her hands through her hair which sort of grossed me out a little bit. And when taking my oldest grandchild to the bathroom I was shocked to see one of the servers take a straw out of a drink taste the drink put the straw back in and serve it to a table. I can only hope that table was her family. It is an extremely loud restaurant this was a Tuesday night and they were busy as busy as you can be for a very small restaurant but it was so loud it’s hard to hear one another speak. Lastly it is extremely expensive the quality of the food and the cost of the food do not match there are many more Italian places in the Columbus area that are much better have much better atmosphere much better service and now I can honestly say much better owners. Lastly when I suggested to him that I would be writing an article on Unilocal he told me «that’s not even a threat to me I don’t give a damn about Unilocal anyone who gets on that is stupid anyway»

Best authentic Italian hands down. Almost everything is homemade, the bread, soups, meatballs, sausage and most noodles(lasagna, ravioli, spaghetti, fettuccine, cannelloni, manicotti, etc)!! You see people coming in and being treated like old friends from the staff. Occasionally you’ll see someone just walk right into the kitchen and you immediately hear loud, warm Italian greetings. The portions are big and you’ll most likely have leftovers but the food is just as good the second day and you almost wish you hadn’t eaten so much at the restaurant because now you’re craving more. Sometimes we get Morettis in our heads and it almost starts a Pavlovian salivating response and we have to go get it! Oh, the carry-out portions are the same size and are given the same attention to detail, unlike a lot of other places where the carry-out is nowhere near the dine in experience. This location is by far my favorite. This location and the one in Arlington are owned by brothers but their cooking styles are way different. Their mom makes both locations her amazing cheesecakes though!

I seldom like a thick-crust pizza, but the one I got from Moretti’s on Sawmill was excellent! The crust was airy yet had a good crunch. The sauce did not over power the other ingredients but served as a backdrop to good pepperoni and big, fresh mushrooms. The cheese added to the pizza but did not hide the other flavors. All in all, the pizza(which we ordered through Skip the Dishes) was perfect for a Friday movie night.

Came here for the first time last evening. I was a little skeptical because its in a strip mall and its definitely not the classiest setting. But didn’t your mom always tell you not to judge a book by its cover? BESTITALIANFOODINCOLUMBUS. I say this as an Italian who’s family owns Italian restaurants all over Pittsburgh. I had the manicotti, which was fantastic. The ricotta stuffing was a bit sweeter than most recipes, which made it all the better. Sauce was divine. Dinner was started with bread and homemade(I assume…) garlic butter. I opted for Italian wedding soup as my starter, which was still good, but I prefer my wedding soup to have more orzo or dittalini and meatballs! I took home my last manicotti and we had to skip on dessert, we were so full! I give service four stars. We definitely weren’t «wined and dined», but our server was polite and efficient. The dining room is small, but quaint. I literally called my Nonna(Italian for«Grandma»!) to tell her that I think I just found the best Italian restaurant in Columbus!

Never again. I don’t typically write bad reviews, I know everyone has an off night, but when the owner says to you«I don’t know what you want me to do about it.» and continues to charge me $ 50 for a meal I couldn’t even eat, well, it’s on! Food? Meh, go to La Scala, better quality, better price. Atmosphere? You tell me, do you like strangers sitting in your lap? Service? We requested a table when we got there, her response? «we’ll see, you may have to sit in a booth». Utterly disappointed. Had to take our overpriced, under seasoned food home. I had to pay for it so I am going to choke this crap down if it kills me.

The best, most authentic Italian in Columbus. First, I am more Italian than anything else. My great grandparents came to the U.S. on a boat from Italy. I have dined here probably more than 50 times. I always get the same thing — the cheapest thing on the menu — homemade pasta, homemade marinara and homemade meatballs. Sometimes I add sautéed mushrooms too. I’m not cheap — it’s just the most perfect spaghetti you’ll ever have. Just like my grandmother made — from scratch. Nice bar and wine selection. Great bread and butter. Tons of other delicious entrees. Yummy desserts. A simple, great Italian restaurant. Oh, if you can handle the fat grams and cholesterol, get the crumbled sausage & peppers in cream sauce. OMG, trust me…

After we tried going to Angry Bear and 101 Beer Kitchen unsuccessfully, we ended up at Moretti’s. What a happy accident! We walked in and were promptly seated. The atmosphere is dark and quiet which would make it a great place for a date. Currently, there are tasteful holiday decorations. We looked at the menu and I decided on the penne with meatballs while my date got the shrimp pizza. The food took quite some time to take, admittedly. But once it came, it was great! Mine came with Italian wedding soup. It had spinach, carrots, meatballs, and noodles. It was really hot, but really good once it cooled down! I wasn’t expecting anything to come with my pasta, so it was a pleasant surprise. My pasta was really good. The red sauce was slightly spicy and had visible tomatoes and spinach in it — yummy! This is the kind of pasta that you know will be just as good as leftovers, which is amazing, especially considering the portions were huge and you’ll definitely have a doggy bag! My boyfriend really enjoyed his pizza, too. Our waitress was genuinely nice. She filled up my soda twice and offered to fill it up a third time and boxed up our leftovers for us as well. Although the menu isn’t the cheapest around, we paid less than $ 40 for a nice Italian dinner, which isn’t bad at all. We would definitely try Moretti’s again.

One of our two«go-to» spots for Italian in Columbus. Hand-made pasta and sauce… you can tell the difference in a heartbeat. Huge portions, so very easy to split an entrée between 2 people. The chix parm, chicken moretti, and lasagna are excellent. Sauce on chicken moretti can be a bit overwhelming… watch your portions with that dish or you and the toilet are going to cozy up for a while(cream sauce). Side salads are OK, but enjoyable(marinated tomatoes). Bread w/their garlic butter is delicious… when we do takeout I actually save the leftover garlic butter and use it on grilled steaks. Bar is alright, wine list kind of stinks for this place… they could use some work there. Restaurant interior is dimly lit, more intimate/old-school setting and décor. It works. Good sized bar area w/nice setup. Service has always been friendly. Reservations are a good idea, and for dine-in or carryout, their daily deals are a great option to save a few bucks. Excellent food, highly recommend.

Oh my gawd yum. Don’t let the fact that it’s in a strip mall on Sawmill deter you. It’s crazy good. The salad that comes with entrees is inexplicably delicious. Holy moly. Marinated tomatoes? Yes, please! The garlic butter for the(plain) bread? Uhhhmazing. The bread is just a butter delivery tool if you ask me. Chicken cacciatore is my absolute fave, but the eggplant parm, spaghetti, and a lasagnas are all delicious, too. They clearly make their pasta and sauces from scratch. Note that the wine and beer selection are not particularly inspiring. But the deliciousness of the food will intoxicate you enough. Not super cheap, but check out their website for their nightly specials, which will save you some bucks. Also, the portions are so huge most anyone would be ok splitting an entrée.

I travel extensively for work, so I Unilocal all my restaurant choices. And Unilocal hasn’t steered me wrong, until last night. And it wasn’t Unilocal’s fault. The reviews were largely outstanding, however, when I ordered the lasagne(normally $ 20, but $ 14 last night) for carry out, I could only eat three bites before I threw it away. It smelled like decaying gums and that grossed me out. Not sure which harmony of ingredient aromas produce that smell, but it was unbearable. The blueberry cheesecake was huge, had a nice texture and was very good. Not sure I will order there again.

I had been craving some home made pasta for a couple weeks. I knew the place I needed to visit was Moretti’s. This is a family owned business that uses family recipes. It is nested within a small strip mall along Sawmill Road. Pasta, bread and sauces are homemade. This location is quite small and often times very busy. Be prepared to get cozy with the neighboring table. There were a lot of «excuse me» as folks were sliding in and out of the restaurant and when the servers passed you by. Volume can get a bit loud as a result. I do suggest making a reservation or at least calling in advance if you want to venture here for dinner. There is a large bar that lines one wall of the interior. Seating along the bar can also be tight. They bring you a small mini-loaf of homemade bread with their own butter spread that contains garlic & herbs. The butter is wonderful, but without being too sinful I spread it on their homemade bread. I’m addicted to both, unfortunately. Menu items are served with your choice of soup or house salad. I enjoy their house tossed salad. Add gorgonzola cheese for extra zing. I have tried a number of items from their menu in the past. Most portion sizes are quite generous. It is pretty common to take the extra home for a second meal. My recent visit I had their Cannelloni. Its baked egg noodles filled with ground veal and covered with their tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. The tomato sauce has a bit of kick to it. Although tempted to have dessert, I was simply way too full. Service has generally been pretty responsive and personable. They do offer an outdoor patio for warmer days. It does lay right up against a very busy parking lot, but is comfortable on a nice evening.
