I can not express my satisfaction and happiness with the service and care that I received with the Makeup Movement. Annie was amazing from start to finish. She as always professional and understanding from my first neurotic email MONTHS before the wedding to the day of perfection that she created. I had actually booked a trial with another service company, but kept getting the run around regarding pricing and available dates. One email to Annie and I could tell she was organized, professional, and knew exactly what she had to offer as a company and how she could stand out from the rest. I booked a trial with her immediately.
We talked during our consultation and after about the style and look I was going for, which I must say she achieved to perfections. She was professional, talkative to encourage my wedding vision, calming and assertive with her knowledge and her instincts… just was a nervous bride needs. She made sure to keep in close contact with me regarding my wishes and concerns, making me feel both valued and pampered as one of her clients. After the consultation, she made a point to remain in touch and check on any new needs or ideas for the «day of» look I wanted.
My day of service couldn’t have gone any better. Annie and her team were prompt, smiling, and most of all — MASTERS OF MAKEUP! She made myself and all my brides looks so beautiful and I truly can not thank her enough. Please please, if you are looking for the perfect person to create the look of your dreams, you will not regret your choice in Annie. I would choose her 1,000,000 times over! Although my wedding happened earlier this year in the Spring, I can remember it as if it were yesterday. I’ve never felt so beautiful in my life and of course of all days, I’m glad that it was on my wedding day. Annie was my makeup artist and she was amazing from beginning to end! We communicated well and so easily throughout the whole wedding process. At first, I felt lost with what I wanted but she knew what kind of questions to ask that helped me figure it out. I asked for a soft romantic look and she gave me exactly that! She’d respond to any concern I had in a timely manner and when I forgot to add my maid of honor to the make up list she was very accommodating and was able to fit her into the schedule. The morning of my wedding she arrived right on time with a game plan ready. I had 8 ladies getting hair and/​or makeup done and Annie and her assistant were so organized in everything that I was able to rest and take a nap. When I finally received my wedding photos, my makeup looked just as amazing as it did in person! My photographer even told me that he didn’t even use photoshop that much on me because the makeup was done so well — So well that it lasted through most of the day but by the last hour, 1 of my eyelashes started to fall off! Honestly, it didn’t even bother me, the night was already over and if you knew how much of a cry baby I was, you’d be impressed that it even stayed on that long! I’m so happy how everything turned out. Again Annie was amazing! Her work shows just how passionate she is about makeup. I would definitely recommend her and use her again!

Annie is absolutely FABULOUS! She worked with me and got to know me and what I envisioned for my wedding. I got married August 2015, and she made me feel gorgeous the day of my wedding! Her attention to detail is amazing! Annie was prompt, professional and very fun to work with. Annie has a magic wand to make you feel beautiful! I just got married this past weekend on July 4^th and Annie did my makeup and hair. From the trial to the day of the wedding Annie made sure I looked amazing. I felt bad for Annie because I kept crying and tearing and she stood by my side to do touch ups and I couldn’t have asked for a better make up artist. I look at pictures and my make up looked flawless and I have to say airbrush makeup is the way to go! Everything was amazing from my hair to my make up. Thank you Annie for everything and I have to say I have been made up by multiple professional make up artists for multiple occasions, but I have to say you are by far the best and I am so thankful because it was for the most important day of my life! Annie and TMM team deserve these 5 stars! I just had my wedding on December 29, 2014 and could not be anymore happy to have TMM! I’m SO HAPPY I was able to find them! With all the stress, nerves and jitters that go along with the wedding planning and the wedding itself, Annie was very helpful. She’s professional, personable, and was quick to communicate with me. From my initial conversation with her over the phone I already felt the passion she had. Prior to my trial session, Annie asked me to email photos of hairstyles and makeup looks that I liked. When I arrived for my trial, we went over each look. She asked me what I liked and what I did not like about each. I really appreciated that because by her asking me, it showed me that she was interested in what I wanted and not what she thought would be nice for me. (I have had a previous trial where the lady would tell me what she thought would look good on me). So, that’s definitely a PLUS for Annie’s character. She is so talented! You can see it in the pictures from my wedding. I HIGHLY recommend TMM not only because of their pure talent but their passion. You can tell that they care about each person they are working with. If you are a bride looking for a hair/​MUA: BOOK with TMM! You will not be disappointed. Oh I forgot to mention! My hair and makeup held up flawlessly all day. I have thick long hair and it held without any touchups from the start of my wedding to the end of the night. Annie truly made me feel like a beautiful bride.

I was referred to the Makeup Movement by Angie Capri Photography when I scheduled my pin up inspired boudoir photo shoot. I sent a couple of emails one with a photo of myself and a few with some ideas I had about hair styles. Annie Lam met me at the studio and transformed me into this beautiful, blast from the past and I loved every detail about it. My boyfriend loves his photo book gift and thought that the hair and make up was AMAZING as well. Annie made me feel comfortable and was very professional as well as affordable. If you are in the market for professional hair and makeup for any occasion I would reccomend the Makeup Movement.

Just look at my profile picture! Annie did all that with a wave of her magic brush and hot wand! Everything the other 5-​star reviewers say is true; so, I’ll spare you the minute details. The important take-​aways are:
1) Affordable: Annie’s services were included in the price of my head shots with Angie Capri Photography; the whole package was utterly affordable and totally worth every penny (why do we still have pennies; it’s 2014 for chrissakes).
2) Pleasant: Annie is a kick in the pants, you’ll love working with her.
3) Endurance: my make-​up didn’t run or fade, the curls held their shape; I was effing gorgeous the entire day.

She was so kind and efficient and made the experience a breeze (having ONE person do both hair and makeup is a magical thing). Its hard to be brief in summarizing my experience I had with TMM. Annie and her team is nothing short of fabulous in all aspects– in their talents, professionalism, and personalities. On the day of, Annie and her team meshed so well with my group of girls, making us feel like we had been old friends for years. Above everything else, Annie made me look and feel like a stunning bride. With every encounter I had with Annie and her team leading up to my day of, it was a constant reminder that I had made the right choice in picking TMM. From my 70-​year-​old grandmother, to each of my 7 bridesmaids, Annie and her team treated each of us girls with the upscale glamour treatment parallel to any divalicious experience. Annie was absolutely incredible in making my «hair dream» a reality. I have no shame in admitting I was a Pinterest bride all the way. After browsing what felt like hundreds of hairstyles I came across one that made me stop and say, «I have to have this». Much like the dress hunting, I knew the moment I saw the hairstyle this WAS the one. Once showing Annie my vision, she jumped right on board, and started brainstorming how to make it happen. During my initial hair and make up trial, it was the first time I began to feel like I bride. Annie took the one picture I had of my hair dream, and made it a reality. What was even more incredible, was after completing her master piece which was my hair, Annie provided suggestions that took my vision to an elevated level. Adding just the right hair accessory, Annie had the fashionable eye to make my vision everything I wanted and more. On the day of, I received endless complements on my intricate hairstyle. Annie is simply amazing in her talents and abilities. Much like my hair, Annie understood exactly how I imagined my make up on my big day. I often laughed with Annie when looking back at the before and after pictures Annie would take for reference, as I couldn’t believe how AMAZING she made me look and feel. Throughout the day of, I would catch a glimpse of Annie’s work here and there while she focused on transforming me into a bride. Upon the final reveal, I honestly could not believe what I saw. Annie is nothing short of a miracle worker. There has never been a day in my life I have ever felt more beautiful. When it came to booking my makeup/​hair stylist, I spent an extensive amount of time looking for the right team for my day of. What was important to me in finding the right stylist, was someone who would be willing to listen to my needs, and understand my vision in order to make me look and feel like myself on my wedding day. Often times, brides get caked with makeup and hairstyles, that detract from their natural beauty. However Annie works with her brides, listens to their individual needs, and then works her magic. Annie and TMM team all are each highly educated and specialized in what they do. On the day of, Annie and TMM team arrived early and was able to set up the room before my 7 bridesmaids and I arrived. Throughout the day Annie and her team were great, joking with my group and making everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. I knew I had nothing to worry about on the day of, as I trusted Annie and her team to get us all looking fabulous! And boy did they deliver!! I met with Annie once before the wedding to do a trial run of both the hair and makeup. Although I loved everything about my hair and makeup, Annie was very open to the few suggestions I found throughout the day following the trial. By the day of, Annie had a list ready to go of small little tweaks she needed to make from the trial. Another decision factor for booking with TMM was with how approachable Annie was as I emailed back and forth many questions I had. With every email, Annie was patient and flexible as I worked through my 7 bridesmaids, and all of their particular needs. All in all BOOK WITH TMM. You will not be disappointed with the outcome of not just how you look, but your overall experience. Annie and her team don’t get nearly enough credit for what they provide in their services. I’m a local professional photographer, specializing in empowering women’s portraits, so it’s very important that I have an amazing hair and makeup artist, who I can refer to my clients, with confidence. And let me tell you, it has taken me quite some time, to find hair and make up artists who are just right for the style and quality of artistry, I have been searching for.
I love collaborating with Annie, she is so sweet, professional, and meticulous. She responds to all inquires right away, and she is very reliable. She has done the best job of any other hair and make up artists that I have worked with before!

All of the ladies of The Makeup Movement are beautiful and wonderful!
So I do some modeling on the side. Mostly for fun, a little bit for promotion, and everyone thinks modeling is all fun and games.
But we just make it look that way.
There’s a lot that goes into making sure that a modeling event goes well. Hours and hours of hair and makeup, wardrobe malfunctions, missing models, last minute cancellations and no-​shows, and the way that clocks just love to go twice as fast when time is the one thing you need more of! It can be very very stressful, and there’s a lot of pressure on a lot of people.
But not for the ladies of The Makeup Movement. They are having fun every minute they are working.
I recently did a huge modeling event at a mansion. 15+models, dozens of photographers, and at least 100+ attendees. It was a crazy day to say the least.
Lourenda was my makeup artist for the night and the time I spent sitting in her chair was so much fun. Amongst all the craziness that was going on, we were chatting about everything and anything, we were playing music and dancing along. Well, she was dancing and I was shaking my shoulders a little bit to avoid her eyeshadow brush from poking me in the eye.
She did a beautiful job and it was really camera-​ready makeup!
As for my hair, Tiara tackled my short and thick hair. She curled it up-​which is quite a large task-​but managed to make it look bouncy, and chic.
The other ladies, Annie and Joana, were also doing a superb job with makeup on other models. Everyone had a smile on their face despite all the pressure with time.
Lourenda, if you’re reading this, I hope I can work with you again in the future! However, I do think we need to speed it up just a little bit, maybe cut back on the dancing and singing a bit haha. I need time to get my dress on!

I booked an appointment with Annie and she did an amazing job! I got my make up done over the weekend for my friend’s wedding and I got so many compliments! She really makes a great effort to find out what kind of look you’re going for. This stood out to me since I feel like having your making up done is really based on personal preference. Everyone likes different things and Annie gave me the perfect look I was going for. She asked for pictures of the kind of make up looks I liked before hand. She definitely takes the time to make sure you leave happy! I’m definitely going back
