I’ve been coming here for at least 15 years and swear by it any day over Panera. I’m so happy to see them still going strong. I don’t remember their menu changing too much over the years nor does it need to. Always quality staple items. My favorite is the veggie sandwich on swiss melt. I love all of their mini muffins. The perfect size to go with your meal. The workers are usually younger gals and are always very friendly, upbeat, and helpful.

Great breakfast sandwiches. I usually go for the northern omelet on an everything bagel(delicious). Today I tried a new sandwich(and only available for a limited time) the ranchero. It has guacamole, jalapeños, egg, cheese and hot sauce, I also added sausage to mine. It was good, but there wasn’t much guacamole on it which is what I was really looking forward to! I think I’ll stick to my Northern omelet in the future!

I have eaten here very frequently for lunch. The bagel sandwiches are good, the bagels are very fresh. The staff is usually very friendly, but there is one employee that sticks out like a sore thumb. Unfortunately, she is not friendly and has made multiple mistakes with order accuracy. I have noticed a few times that she will touch her face, clothes, etc. with her gloved hand while in the process of preparing food. One time she used her gloved hand to adjust her bra strap under her shirt. Yikes. I could live with an unfriendly employee, and even inaccurate orders, but her hygiene with food preparation is concerning. If not for her, I’d give BAB at least 4 stars.

Their Breakfast is Nice, Fresh, Inexpensive, Healthy, and Creative! I drove by this place twice a week in the past year — my family just moved to Dubuque last year — and never get a chance to walk in, although it looks interesting and clean and the sign is so inviting. We used to love breakfast at Bruegger’s so much when we lived in Syracuse, NY, that we had to go there every weekend’s morning. This Sunday is Mother’s Day, and my dear mother-in-law was in town to see my little boy. She was about to leave to hit the road, and I knew she loves bagels for breakfast, plus other breakfast place were supposed to be crowded due to Mother’s day weekend, so we decided to try Big Apple Begels — turned out this place offered a variety and FRESH bagels menu. Everyone loved it. I had omelette(Northern-style omelette) with Everything bagel, and found out that their bagel was fresh, omelette was cooked to order, and everything is just so good — reminding me of our all-time-favorite Bruegger’s! I’m sure that we have to come back again for breakfast on the weekend!
