Fantastic wings and great beer options, all for a more than reasonable price. Additionally, service has always been great and timely. The groups I have gone with have also been very high on their burgers and dessert as well. Unfortunately not in the best location but have always had a great experience.

Great place. The food is consistently good. Their mixed drinks are top notch. Best of all the service is always friendly. They are very quick to bring your food but that may be because I like to go out when things slow down between lunch and dinner.

Pretty good food. I really like all the burger options. The Truffle Fries are a must in my opinion.

These people know how to cook. They do Salmon and it’s fresh and flavorful and not overdone. They do steaks to perfection and I guarantee you will savor every succulent morsel. Anything you pick from the menu will satisfy you. What they lack in dining room size, they make up for in culinary excellence. They will take care of you like family. If you’re from out of town, go here. It’s a secret you will want to keep to yourself. XOXOXOX

This is the real deal — delicious food and great service. Menu is top notch and clearly homemade by professional. I would eat here every week if I lived here.

Pretty decent food, nothing to write home about but it’s pretty good. Service was good, very laid back atmosphere. My one and only complaint, a burger, 2 kids meals, and some raviolis for lunch was $ 50, that seems pretty pricy for good bar food.

Fantastic food! Out of the way but glad we came. The food was outstanding. Best fish and chips that I’ve had in a long time. The batter was outstanding. Brought kids and had a nice kids menu. Kids loved it. Will definitely return next time we come to Dubuque.

I love this place. It’s classy enough to take your grandparents out to dinner, yet fun enough to meet with friends and have a few drinks. The interior is very unique. A nice mix of old, original ceilings and interesting artwork, but they also have two or three large flat-screen TV’s if watching sports is your thing. The food is great, as is the service. I always take friends from out of town here because it’s a great bar, and a great restaurant, all in a unique atmosphere.

The Scotch Egg was great. The staff is friendly and the place is pretty cool on the inside. The food was just right. Seems to be the place to be on a Thursday night. People waiting for a table, but enjoying the company.

Copper kettle is a wonderful find! We started with the fried curds and sriracha ranch, which I highly recommend. The salad and dressing was fantastic but also you must get the Parmesan truffle fries I had the caprese chicken and my husband had the fish in chips. Both delicious. The breading on his was perfect. Not too thick and great flavor.

Service was a bit slow and our server seemed only half there. Beer battered onion rings were light and crispy with a delicious siracha ranch dip. The flat iron salad was requested medium but it came out well done — luckily that cut can handle it without getting tough or dry. The dressing was requested on the side as well and it came out fully dressed. Fortunately it was not overdressed and it had a balanced flavor. These two big mistakes caused a full star downgrade. Prices were a bit steep as well. $ 13.95 for the salad was about $ 2 too much given the tiny piece of meat(about 3 oz) and lack of interesting ingredients. Only greens, lettuce, carrots and cucumbers with two grape tomatoes. The truffle parmesan fries were as good as they get — crispy, hot and well seasoned with parm and truffle oil. Jalapeño burger was juicy with nice heat. Across the street there is a cool old building that used to house the Dubuque Brewery from 1895 to 1940. The bartender has an old book the brewery published about itself. Ask to see it. They no longer serve the pork belly sandwich so if you are going there for that be forewarned!

The Copper Kettle is a little hidden gem in Dubuque. After a long work day, I arrived a 8:59 – with the kitchen closing at a 9:00pm, except for entrees – my waitress said, «Here is the menu, if you order now, I’ll get it in. And you can choose your salad later.» So fish and chips it was! I appreciate someone looking out for me and taking initiative. I hadn’t eaten since breakfast, so this was a solid service. Too bad I didn’t get a chance to look over the menu. But I’ll be in Dubuque all week so I might try to get there a little earlier tomorrow night.

While visiting family in Dubuque we found this gem north of downtown. One of my complaints with Dubuque is that is has lacked the local food movement that many other bigger cities have seen. I was happy to find and support the copper kettle. Upon arriving we were told it was going to be a 45 minute wait for a table for 7. The place is small and popular so be prepared! We sat down at the bar which was open and ordered a round of drinks and nachos. I bought the round and was pleased to find it was under $ 30. I got a Moscow mule and was doubly surprised when it came with an alcoholic ginger beer of which I got to keep and finish. The best. The nachos were good and enough to share as an app for our large group. For dinner I went for the healthy version of their fish and chips. I got three huge pieces of baked white flaky fish and was so satisfied. I wanted to take a bite of everyone’s dishes, they all looked good, guess I have an excuse to stop back.

Was visiting Dubuque for the weekend and found this place on Unilocal. The pork belly and kimchee sandwich reviews was what drew me to this restaurant. I already knew what I wanted to order before I sat down. To my great disappointment, it wasn’t what I expected at all. The meat was dry, not juicy and fatty like normal pork belly that I’ve had before, and the kimchee was way too overbearing. It was a pretty spicy sandwich. From an asian perspective who has had pork belly and kimchee at many restaurants before, it did not meet my expectations. But I guess I didn’t come to an asian restaurant either, so it makes sense that they wouldn’t excel in making this dish. However, to make up for it, we also tried fish tacos, truffle fries, and their cheese curds. My husband actually ordered fish n chips, but received the wrong order(but decided fish tacos were okay too, so we didn’t complain). The fish tacos were decent, but not amazing, I would say. The truffle fries and the homemade chips that came with my pork belly and kimchee sandwich were my favorite, and if I come back, I’d definitely get one of these again. The cheese curds were pretty good too, but a bit too oily and unhealthy to eat too many for just the two of us. They were pretty good though and had a good dipping sauce(can’t remember what the sauce was). All in all, I may come again to try other things and to get their fries/chips again, but if you’re well-versed in pork belly/kimchee, I’d stay away from that here. There’s lots more they have to offer though.

What a great place! We received the very best service from Nathan. The Scottish egg, Pork belly & kimchee sandwich, & martinis(I got the award winning chocolate & pineapple upside down cake) were all delicious. The parmasean truffle fries were good, but a tad bit soggy. the kitchen was running a bit slow for a Friday night & they ran out of cod(for their fish & chips), but I’d definitely love to come back when I visit the area again.

Awesome find for us on our trip to Dubuque! Fried pickles and cheese curds were absolute perfection. My husband had the fried cod taco special and ranked it right under his favorite fish tacos ever, he’s had a lot so feel excited to be #2! I had the pulled pork nachos and they were awesome and served as a great late night snack later :) Amy was a great server. Loved the ambience. Copper Kettle was the highlight of our trip thank you!

Very local-feeling bar and restaurant in a more residential area of Dubuque! Not in the main downtown, but that means it’s packed with Dubuque families enjoying their meals and loads of Dubuque natives sipping craft beers. The menu is very bar-y, with poutine as a highlight for carnivores but with options as well for vegetarians/pescatarians. I got the walnut-crusted salmon which was perfectly cooked. I also upgraded my fries to parmesan truffle fries, which were outstanding and well worth the extra $ 1. This was one of our better meals in Dubuque, for sure.

Came here with the family after having eaten at the top rated Dubuque restaurant the night before and being very disappointed. As such I didn’t have high hopes for this place. Happily it turned out just fine. We started with an order of Poutine, french fries with cheese and gravy. This was good but certainly a once a year food. I couldn’t decide what to order so I asked the waitress what she recommended. She responded with either the fish tacos or the mushroom Swiss burger. Since this more of a bar I opted for the burger over the tacos, which I think would be better at a Mexican restaurant. The burger was good with a nice char on the outside but still juicy on the inside. Service was okay but a bit slow. The waitress was very good at keeping our diet cokes full!
