Dockside ‘n Duck

Great seafood selection that is always fresh and smells it. Store is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a lot of other items to go with your seafood like fresh bread, dips, sauces, pies, spices and I think even some other types of meat in the freezer.
Prices are on the high side, but you don’t have to leave town so if you don’t plan ahead (which is usually the case for me) it’s a great stop. They also seem to keep great hours in that they are open whenever I need them. Seems to open early, stay on the late side and even be there on holidays and off days when I wouldn’t expect them.
It’d be nice if they ran bulk seafood sales once in a while when they get a special on a large shipment. Maybe sit out near the road with a cooler or put a big signboard up «½ price grouper!» so we know to stop.

Excellent! !! Full heavy crabs cooked perfectly! I’m impressed and very satisfied! #1 Jimmie for only $ 30 dozen. I call that a bargain!

Steamed shrimp was delicious, potato salad was pretty good but I wasn’t impressed with the she crab soup. That might be because I am from Maryland but it wasn’t something I’d get again.

Stopped in to buy some fresh shrimp. It is probably the cleanest seafood store I have ever been in. All the fish looked very fresh.
We bought 2# of raw shelled shrimp to make as an appetizer and it was excellent.
Staff were all welcoming and quick to answer any questions. I would definitely return.

A-​OK. Lots of fresh seafood and prices in line for Duck.
Came in one evening to get a dozen crabs and was disappointed to find out they aren’t steamed on site, so you have to order in advance. Left empty handed. Surprised that a seafood/​crab market doesn’t have a steamer in the back.

Picked up dinner to take home… fantastic! Called ahead to order; friendly staff was great helping us figure out the right amount of food for our group. 45 min later we swung in to pick up our haul… dinner for 5, hot and ready to go at a very reasonable price. We ordered two types of crab, shrimp, hush puppies, and coleslaw. Everthing was great… the seafood was very fresh, the garlic herb butter was scrumptuous, and the hush puppies and cole slaw were a nice simple way to round out the meal.
I’d absolutely recommend this place!

Always delicious and something we look forward to on vacation. We have gotten the steamed spiced shrimp, tuna, clams, and a lobster pot. Everything is super fresh and reasonably priced! They also have really great dips to nosh on as a snack like a clam or crab.

I have been coming here for years. Staff is always helpful. Tuna salad is the best on the beach. We visit several times a week. Steamed shrimp is fantastic.

Service and food great. Busy but very attentive. Definitely going back before we leave.

Fantastic place! We loved shopping in Duck, Nc. And we came across this in the little mini mall. We didn’t feel like going out, so we picked up scallops, shrimp, and salmon. We absolutely enjoyed purchasing our meats Here. Whenever we decide to come back, I’ll have a great review on this place!

Amazing place in duck! Wish we did it earlier in the week. Had a seafood feast for 6 for under $ 75. Shrimp, crab, chowder and soup– all amazing!

We purchased seafood three times while on a week long stay in the outerbanks over summer vacation. The first night we purchased gulf shrimp. The sales person spiced and steamed it for us for only a dollar. I have to say this is near the best shrimp that I have had. We also got a quart of the homemade shecrab soup — loaded with crab meat and as a previous review stated a bit on the boozy side, but nonetheless delicious. The second night we order a fillet of locally caught mahi mahi that we pan fried with blackened seasoning, butter, and mango based on the suggestion of a salesperson. It was amazing. Very fresh, tasty, and perfect texture. The final night we purchased homemade oysters Rockefeller. Unfortunately we were disappointed. They used frozen spinach and the oysters were teeny-​tiny. All in all this place is great. If we come back we will definitely purchase seafood from this nice little market,

This a great place to pick up dinner in Duck! I always get crab cakes here. I also got a loaf of french bread to go with dinner. The employees were very friendly and helpful. I’ll be back!

Wow! Not impressed. Actually moved to Duck about 2 months ago and have bought a couple hundred bucks worth of seafood here since. Don’t get me wrong, the food has been good but today’s service was pitiful. We have been frequenting all the local shops here in Duck and everyone has been so kind and helpful. They have all told us about the locals discounts as it is what keeps their businesses open I n the off-​season. Well today, after the lady (owner?) rang me up I asked if they offered locals discounts. She replied they do, but only to people they «know». I explained I was a new resident, had a local id, and had shopped here several times in the last 2 months. She replied, «sorry but she had never seen me before» ??? Wow, I will get my seafood elsewhere.

Fresh seafood for a reasonable price. Steamed upon request for a buck.

We got cod and clams for dinner here. Great quality and prices are decent. Definitely recommend.

Good selection, great product. They usually (in August anyway) have oysters, scallops, tilefish, drum, salmon, tuna, shrimp, and a couple other things.
Tip: they get their tuna from 2 local fishermen. If it looks not-​so-​good one day, come back the next and check again — it can vary a lot from day to day.

We stopped in and placed our order a couple days ago. Very nice displays and friendly staff. Called later and increased our order. We picked it up today. Again, very friendly staff, the order was all correct and ready as promised. Crabs, shrimp, clams and hush puppies. They even helped carry it to the car. All the food was wonderful and the prices were reasonable too. Very happy!

Such a great place to grab some seafood. I only had a crab cake, but it was amazing! Mostly all crab and very fresh.
There is a lot to chose from and it smells amazing when you walk in! Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely go back!

We stayed a week in Duck and our friend suggested this location for fresh steamed crabs. The first time we ordered 18 steamed/​seasoned crabs and a dozen raw oysters for 3 people. We didn’t know how big the crabs were and would have fallen into a food coma if we didn’t go to the beach afterwards to swim it off (after waiting 30 minutes of course).
The second time we ordered it (because it was that good), we ordered 6 crabs, ½ lb of seasoned peel ‘n eat shrimp, dozen raw oysters. This time we ordered too little. Next time, we think a dozen crabs, ½ lb of shrimp, dozen raw oysters would do nicely for 3 adults.
Prices are very reasonable. Service is GREAT. Store is very clean and not fishy smelling. We called ahead both times and it was ready and warm when we got there.
