Copper Station

So a group of friends and I were on a motorcycle trip visiting the Deals Gap region and Tail of the Dragon. Usually on the road traveling from Texas, we don’t exactly get to make the best choices for our food stops, but Copper Station was quite the exception!
Let me begin by saying this place is really clean and well setup. There’s even a cool video store next door that is very nostalgic before the times of Netflix and Redbox. Apparently you can tan there too but I don’t recommend combining the two amenities simultaneously, unless it’s a short film, maybe.
Inside the restaurant, there is very spacious seating and lots of natural light. You would think there’s a lot of road noise from the highway, but it’s actually very quiet in there besides the country music playing. Outside seating is available too and this place stays poppin’. Lots of locals came in and out the entire time so you could tell the folks ran a great business.
The food was absolutely delicious and the wait time was very short. We ordered two different large pizzas, Copper Station Deluxe and Meat Works. Everything was so fresh and amazing at great bargain prices. One of my friends had a Caesar salad and enjoyed it as well, but we didn’t judge him. If you are really hungry, their deserts are very tempting neatly stacked in a glass display with some kind of refrigeration apparatus they called a cooler… must be a Ducktown thing. We made it to one cheesecake and it was sweet, but oh so worth it.
The best part about this place is really the staff. You can see them working behind the counter. They are very courteous and wave to you to show you they aren’t suffering like sweat shop workers at Domino’s. The clerk whose name is Mattie AKA Homecoming Queen is a super sweetheart. She is so sweet in fact that I think I may have contracted diabetes just from conversing with her at a three foot distance. She made us feel really at home and poked fun at our accents, but I assured her that she was the one with the REAL accent haha.
Swing by and see Copper Station for the epic gem that it is; you won’t regret it!

Found this while passing through to Cherokee. Wonderful! Homemade bread for scrumptious sandwiches and the hospitality was perfect. Definitely glad we listened to the positive Unilocal reviews and stopped.

Excellent food. Really good hand tossed pizza, the panini is great too. Looking forward to trying the subs next time.
