Buon Appetito came highly recommended by a former neighbor of ours. It’s also one of very few places that deliver to South Riding. So when my husband and I decided to stay in last Friday and were craving pizza, we decided to give it a try. Online ordering is easy. We decided to go with the Buon Appetito special NY pizza topped with pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions and mushrooms. I like that the site gave an estimate for wait time for delivery, although that estimate was 80 minutes. I can say the pizza arrived sooner — more like 50 minutes. The crust was chewy and the toppings were plentiful and fresh. Peppers and onion were nice large chunks that still had some crisp to them. I liked that they used thinly sliced rather than ground sausage. Overall the pizza had a great flavor and for the price, was a good value. About $ 15 for a 14 inch pizza delivered. My only complaints — as the other reviewer mentioned, canned mushrooms were used on the pizza. I would have much preferred fresh. By the time the pizza arrived at our home it was lukewarm, not hot. However, we did order on a Friday night and they were delivering to South Riding from Dulles. I am sure traffic was not ideal so I’ll give them a pass and pop my slice in the oven for a minute or two. Minimum order for delivery is $ 15, which is why we went with the 14 inch which was enough for dinner and lunch the next day. I’m glad we tried Buon Appetito and am looking forward to trying some of their other menu items. This will be our go to pizza place when we want delivery to our home.

This is one of the few restaurants that delivers to Stone Ridge, so I was hoping the food would be good, and it was pretty good. I’d been helping a friend paint for 5+ hours today, so needless to say I didn’t want to cook dinner. I ordered the supreme sicilian pizza and the garden salad to feed myself and the hubs. The food came very quickly, within about 20 – 25 mins(quick for delivery to Stone Ridge). The salad was great — lots of goodies on it, including fancy olives, artichoke hearts, and freshly shredded mozzarella. The salad came w/three nice little dinner rolls, which was an unexpected surprise, given the salad was only $ 4.99(and very large). The pizza was also pretty good. The crust was a little thicker than I like, so next time I’d order the NY style vs. the sicilian style, but it was nicely cooked. The toppings were plentiful. My only negative on the toppings is they use canned mushrooms, which seems to be a thing here on the east coast that I never experienced on pizza back in my home state of California. The only potential glitch w/my order was that I paid online but when the delivery dude showed up, he said I needed to pay cash and pointed to where the receipt said«will pay cash.» So, I’ll have to watch my cc statement and hope I’m not charged. All in all, I’d order from this place again. Not the cheapest, but fast and tasty and you get a lot of food for the money.
