Potbelly Sandwich Shop

At near Gate D14 at IAD. Just back from Busan Korea, a 13 hour flight from Peking. Nothing like a Potbelly’s Italian sub. Nicely toasted, with plenty of meat and vegetables. Just finished it, and I feel good again.

This potbelly was great. They don’t have a Unilocal page for the one I went to but it was in the B terminal. Great taste on the wreck and turkey I had. Great service as well.

Good option for a vegetarian soup. Service was good.

I think it was the best airport food spot to me so far! They had the longest wait line in the airport yet the service was fast and clear so i didnt wait long. And the sandwich was actually delicious– i didnt expect that it would tastes same as the other spot since its in airport but i think it was even better. And the price was same with the other spot. The staff was even friendly!

Potbelly makes a good consistent sandwich. Yeah not a lot of bells and whistles like specialty sandwich places but I will take consistency. Love their turkey and swiss toasted… with the works. Prices are very reasonable.
Always great to grab one before you get on a plane… as the food on planes… yikes.

Excellent sub at excellent price — -Very good bread, high quality fillings, and I love the hot pepper mix! Big size feels up almost all hungry travelers for 7 bucks, no wonder its frequented by the airline crews and airport staff.
Worth walking 10 minutes away from your gate.

Dunken Donuts (a 3 minute walk away) appeared to have better breakfast sandwich choices but I elected to eat at potbelly and it worked. You have a choice of flatbread or bagel for the wrapping of whatever egg concoction you choose. It tasted ok but surprised me with a calorie count of 500 that sure didn’t feel like I’d eaten 500 calories, but maybe that’s because I’d been eating way too many croissants in Europe the last week!

Don’t let the fact that I’m only writing this review to pass the time before my connecting flight fool you; the 5 (well. 4.5) stars are well deserved. They serve a very solid sandwich and are quick and affordable. $ 7 for a 9″ sub at an airport? That’s unheard of. I recommend the wreck. 4 stars for the sandwich, 5 for service and price.

Pretty darn good for the airport food. The tuna salad sandwich on whole wheat with the hot pepper spread toasted large for $ 6 ish is worth the money nothing else compares in this airport!

Good sandwich shop, fresh food, fast service. Inexpensive. All you could want in an airport lunch place. Limited seating, and no baby carrots for snacks otherwise would be 5 stars :) Near C1 gate (not D gate like Unilocal says)

Best BBQ sandwich I have had in ages. Got it with hot peppers. Italian sandwich with onion, tomato and lettuce w/​light mayo. Both on whole wheat buns.

Service is terrible! Just because the customers are in a hurry doesn’t mean the people working get to mess up your order. They won’t give you the time to order your food to your specifications. Food is mediocre at best.

My wife and I popped in for a breakfast bite before our flight. This was our first time at Pot Belly for breakfast. We weren’t sure what to expect and at first couldn’t even find the breakfast menu. Turns out it is tucked in the corner over by the ordering station.
We both selected their bacon and egg sandwich on a bagel. The sandwiches were a little over cooked for my liking but filling for our six hour flight. We regretted not taking up their offer to add sandwich toppings to our meal. In retrospect, our sandwiches would have been much better with some lettuce and a tomato slice (or maybe avocado) on top?

I used to go to this shop when I worked in the area. Nothing out of the spectacular but they are very efficient. When you want something to eat you come here and they do it quick! They also invite music artists here playing guitars and singing. The ambiance is definitely very relaxing and it distinguishes itself from other shops (for this reason I rated them high). I enjoy my times here eating and talking with whomever I have the pleasure to dine with.
Note that there free parking across the street so its very convenient

For a sub shop, this place is legit. I got the small grilled chicken sandwich and added bacon n shrooms which was big enough to feed 2 average eaters and a real ice cream milkshake. The shake was spot on and the sandwich was as flavorful as can be. The bananna peppers give it that perfect kick if you’re into that.

Decent for getting a sandwich in the airport. The service was prompt and friendly. It seemed to be in a nice quiet corner of the airport while I was there. They had a vegetarian option or two as well.

Potbelly has some really good food and you can get breakfast at this location, I love the hot pepper mix that they put on the sandwiches and the PB and Jelly is sooooo good, the prices are cheap for the size that you get and they have good milkshakes and brownies also, it can get busy here depending on the flight volume in the gate area but the staff can usually keep up

Grilled chicken sandwich on wheat with bacon added is perfect. The salad with fruit is as well.
To get a good salad with fresh veggies and chicken for under $ 10 at an airport is amazing. We went with balsamic dressing which is a bit thick but works well with the salad. Grab a sandwich and go have se wine at vino volo.
The chicken sandwich bread was toasted perfectly, unlike subway. The bacon add to the chicken and cheddar is a nice addition but definitely have to get the hot peppers on ANYTHING you get from here, they are delicious.

Oooh — another Potbelly location at Dulles.
These sandwiches are the benchmark of flavor and execution. And they are consistently good. The hot pepper mix is full-​strength spicy — get *extra* and you’re in for a solid mouth-​scorching.
I always get mine ‘thin cut’ where they tear out the fluffy part of the bread roll.
Masterful, quick toasting process. Not like Quizno’s where they burn your shit.

Their stock (PBPB) has taken a nosedive since their IPO last fall. I love these sandwiches so much, my tastebuds tell me to buy in at these levels. Especially if you believe in the ol’ «invest in what you love» adage.
I kept seeing German /​European travelers walk on by. I wanted to yell out, «If you’re looking for a best of breed, American sandwich — this is it! Subway sucks!» I guess something about the Potbelly signage doesn’t quite command the attention of potential first-​timers. It’s homey in a Hansel & Gretel, woodsy way, which is cool, but none of it is lit, and overall it’s pretty dark.

You’re in the airport. You’re hungry. You crave a hot sandwich. You settle on Potbelly.
It’s ok I suppose. For less than $ 10, you can fill your, um… belly, and get to your flight.
As a bonus they sell beer. In fact, have two and amaze your fellow passengers who will be intrigued as to why you have a Mona Lisa-​esque smirk on your face. I did.
