The owners changed! I walked in and everything looked different! The food has changed and its not the same. The waitress told me that the previous owners sold the place without giving them their signature nangmyun recipe. They are really trying but its not that good and the food is overpriced. Sadly, we will not return.

The place really isnt what it used to be. Their nangmyun is bland and has very little flavor. Service was slow and they don’t give as many side dishes. Really, dont waste your money here.

Even the many is limited,(which I think it’s to keep the food quality) I have had the best toufu soup I’ve ever tasted in my life! Even the side dishes are really good especially the pancake. Will come back again!

Yes this place is small, quirky. Couple runs it, order at register then pick up when they call your order. Seat yourself. But you gotta know what to order. Limited menu. Basic banchan which is small samplings of sides. Do not come for Korean ribs. Order Dumplings, dumpling soup, Korean sausage called sundae. And summer time cold noodle called naengmyun. This food is the way your mom or Grandma made it, from scratch, from heart. Very cheap. Closed Thurs. Location is tricky. In strip mall building near ATL luxury motors. But worth trip. Money. My family favorite.

While the menu is rather limited at Abaee, everything is very good. The banchan is really fresh and varied. I like both the traditional dishes(such as the mul naeng myun, soondae, ddeokbokki) and the Korean American dishes(e.g. the kimchi and cheese rice, which sizzled for minutes in its dolsot and turned out surprisingly to be my favorite entrée). My Korean boyfriend thought the traditional dishes were definitely above average, but he found the kimchi cheese rice to be merely tolerable(perhaps because there was some ketchup in it). The menu provides photos and detailed English descriptions of each entrée so that you know exactly what you’re ordering. The service was excellent and reasonably efficient. Our entrees and banchan arrived within 10 minutes of being ordered. It can be tricky to find Abaee. It is in the shopping center directly to the left of Park Jun. Look for the restaurant on the far right of that building; its signage has some Korean words, «Korean Restaurant,» and a drawing of an old man in traditional Korean garb.

The hubs and I went back to abaee last night for some traditional New Years dduk mandoo gook. Talk about lack of portion control! The amount of dduk mandoo gook they gave me was enough to feed a small Korean village. There was plenty of dduk and three huge mandoo’s. Initially, I thought, «Three mandoo’s, that’s it?» However, my belly was screaming«NOMORE!!!» after just one mandoo. Yes, they were that big and filling. The beef/bone broth was so creamy, smooth, and rich. Yum! The hubs had the dol sot bibim bap, which was super yummy also. There was plenty of tasty veggies, meat, sauce, etc. It passed the sizzling test by coming out hot and sizzling like crazy! It also came with bean sprout soup. In addition to our dishes, we also got a wide variety of banchan again. Yay! I love banchan! Their radish kimchee was exceptionally good.

I’m thinking this place is known for their soondae b/c almost everyone in the restaurant(except for our table) was eating soondae. I came w/my parents thinking they’d have all your«traditional» Korean dishes but their menu is very limited and what they did have seemed like mostly soondae type dishes … which we don’t care for. I think the only non-soondae dishes were bibimbop, soon dubu, mandoo guk, naeng myun, and galbi. And service took FOREVER! Parents ordered«Jun Joo Dolsot Bibimbop»($ 9.99) which took 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered Galbi($ 11.99) but 20 minutes after we ordered, the server informed us that we should order something else b/c the galbi needed to marinate longer. Seriously you didn’t think to tell us when you took my order? So I decided to get the Mandoo Guk($ 8.99) which arrived maybe 10 minutes after my parents’ food arrived. Banchan selection was limited, too — only 5 choices, and they won’t bring the banchan until right before your food comes. As far as the food goes, the dolsot bibimbop was pretty good but didn’t quite live up to the«Jun Joo» name which is a city famous for their bibimbop. Plus the bibimbop wasn’t even sizzling :(My mandoo guk was pretty good, too — both the broth and 5 king-sized dumplings(«wahng mandoo») which tasted homemade(but not as good as Myung Dong’s). Overall 2.5 stars rounded to 3 b/c maybe the soondae is really worth the very slow service — I assume so based on many of the tables eating soondae guk. I think this place might be related to the now-closed Abaee Noodle in Doraville b/c they share the same name and both were known for soondae.

I was dying and desperate for some home cuisine, as my friend and I drove around Duluth… only to find karaōke joints. I was also not in the mood for chicken. The restaurant was small and cute, with only Korean patrons. I did enjoy throwing back soju and crappy Hite, but the menu offering was very limited to no more than 8 items. We ordered a dduk guk and galbi. The dduk was fine, but the galbi, which was LA style, was mistakenly sweet. The banchan offering was also limited(I’m not going to be the whiny falsely entitled loser because the service was good). I’m glad I found a place in desperation but sadly my stomach was unfulfilled. I can’t wait to return home and eat real food. IFHTP1
