Food was good. Service was excellent. Restaurant was very busy but they seated us quickly. Only complaint is we were right by the door so it was fairly cold with it opening and closing so often.

I can’t say enough great things about Tom Hanson and the Duluth Grill staff!!! We escaped the Twin Cities for a weekend getaway at the Beacon Pointe Resort on Lake Superior and dined here as we left the lovely town of Duluth. I noticed the Braggs Liquid Amino Acids and Sriracha on every table which really impressed me as these are condiments in our home. Tom noticed our conversation with our waitress and approached our table, what ensued was a tour of this fine farm to table establishment!!! This was the best meal of the trip with house smoked salmon and grilled kale. Healthy sustainable food with a dedication to quality! Can’t wait to dine here again and try their homemade jams this summmer! #eathis #lakesuperior #duluthgrill #tomhanson

The Duluth Grill menu and its food is excellent. They offer food that is interesting and delicious. There are a wide range of choices for vegans and vegetarians, and in season some of their greens come from the beds in the parking lot! The food is hearty enough to get you through the brutal winter weather. On my recent visit, I enjoyed the fish tacos. As a popular item at many restaurants lately, these were a standout with their locally sourced white fish and sweet pickled onions. My companions, who were regulars, shared a burger and the curried polenta & fire roasted stew. My only regret is not trying more dishes. Next time I will bring a bigger group so we can share because there is so much to enjoy on this menu. We happened in for an early dinner during the week and didn’t have a wait. The locals mentioned that it is common to wait for seating. Service as quick and attentive. Our waitperson made good suggestions for beverages and appetizers while we were chatting, and she wasn’t pushy trying to get us out the door, but that may be different when business is heavier.

I would have to echo the crowd and give this cozy place a 5 star review. Everything ordered was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The hummus was clearly house made, kids were given lovely fruit plates alongside their delicious meals. This places makes me sad that I don’t live closer. My whole family just fell in love.

We loved this place. Hustle and bustle of a family diner with the food and ethics of a progressive sustainable business endeavor, a place that makes me happy to patronize. That and the AMAZING food… we shared the Scotch eggs, onion rings, kale, and a burger. Carol was our waitress and we adored her, knowledgable, fast, communicative and warm. We will be back. Looking forward to seeing the parking lot plans executed.

I’ll be honest — on my first trip here I had no idea this was the SPOT. I did a quick Unilocal search for a good breakfast joint and this came up as the first suggestion. Other than the cars packing the lot, I may not have noticed. We had to wait about 30 minutes before getting seated so at that point it was on. There has to be some reason this place is packed. First, the coffee was amazing. You can easily earn yourself a star or two from a good cup of properly brewed beans. I ordered the Red Flannel Hash and Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. The Red Flannel Hash was a plate of perfectly cooked and seasoned root vegetables. The Corned beef was the real deal, no canned mash here(although it has its time and place). I don’t know if it was the slight hangover but this meal still lingers in my mind. I am a sucker for a good breakfast and I truly left feeling like I won the day! If you are in Duluth or passing through… just do it.

Had breakfast with PamDuffy-Kope, this AM. Extremely good service and very fast, even though the place was very busy. Standing room only when we left. Still we were seated within(5) minutes. In total we were in and out within(45) minutes and the food and portions was extremely tasty and good, and almost more than we could consume. In total, I would recommend this place as one of the best in Duluth Mn. One of the nice touches, all their offerings come from the Duluth area businesses. The only place in Duluth that can say that as far as I know. Go there and experience it for yourself, you won’t be sorry.

We stopped in on a busy Saturday night & had to wait about 30 minutes. Once seated(pretty crowded table set-up) it took a while for our server to come by, but once he did he was attentive & friendly. The menu has a plethora of options & a lot of variety. We ordered the ALT wrap(avocado, lettuce, turkey) with a cranberry mayo spread & it was alright, but the sprouts were a little overpowering flavor-wise. My husband got the gouda burger, which proved to be a stronger choice. We were impressed with the selection of espresso drinks & fresh juices/smoothies. While the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired, I think Duluth Grill is a solid choice for the area.

We are our way through most of Duluth but on the last day, we stopped here. The service was fantastic and the food did not disappoint. I ordered the vanilla cold press with half and half and a Mexican style omelet with peppers and sausage. The waiter was wonderful when I asked about switching out the chorizo it came with, for just regular sausage. My gf ordered the traditional pancake breakfast with eggs, bacon and a large pancake. The pancake batter is multigrain so it’s not quite like your traditional light fluffy cakes. It has a more dense and hearty texture to it. The best part about the pancake was the delicious maple and blueberry syrup that’s comes with it! This place does have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options for folks! I would highly recommend giving it a try!

Stopped in for lunch on the Thursday of MEA weekend. This was our second visit; The first visit having been about three years ago. I was very disappointed in the hostess who took our name for seating… Very slow to acknowledge us and simply not friendly. However we thought the lunch was very good. My daughter had the Reuben and I had the cheesy chicken sandwich and we shared the two orders. Both sandwiches were very good but the Reuben was excellent. I really like the healthy choices on the menu… All in all, a good visit.

This is a great place to eat if you’re looking for healthy alternatives or gluten free options. For appetizers, we ordered the Cashew and Kim-oli. It was flavorful and delicious. Never had something like this before. For the mains, we had the Asian Beef with wild rice. It was very flavorful. We also had the Alaskan and Wild Salmon Paella. The seafood was tender but the soup was a little on the salty side. Then we finished off with gluten free chocolate cake. It was yummy. I was grateful for the gluten free option available because of my wheat allergy.

Amazing. Wonderful. Double yummie. Great place. Great staff. Terrific food. Did I use enough adjectives. I don’t think so. If your are anywhere near Duluth you owe it to yourself to visit. Back for breakfast on Sunday and they absolutely hit it out of the park again. Janis had the Mediterranean Omelet and I had wonderful Biscuits and Gravy. Excellent.

This place is a converted Embers so I went with the breakfast theme and had a the evening skillet for dinner. It was amazing along with the French toast I upgraded to for a buck. Big focus on buying ingredients from local farmers and having many gluten free options. My server Andrea(who was Minnesota nice on steroids) was phenomenal. So nice and sincere, I thought for sure she was one of the owners. I asked her about the place and she mentioned the owners are more interested in making friends than money. So refreshing to hear. If you want a great meal at a very reasonable price while in Duluth it would be tough to beat the Duluth Grill. Double thumbs up!

I’ve eaten here three times now and every time the food just blows my mind. I always order the vegan meals and they’re healthy and packed with flavor! It’s always busy but the service is always super fast and everyone is so friendly. We went during the breakfast and lunch rush and only had to wait about 20 minutes. Their vegan smoothies are amazing too! My boyfriend ordered a bison burger and said it was the best he ever tasted. Every time we come to Duluth, we come here, and tell all of our friends to come here because it is THEBEST

I was in Duluth for Grandma’s Marathon weekend(ran the half) and was in search for a solid pre-race meal, but didn’t want to be loaded with a ton of carbs. After searching through Unilocal,I found this gem just outside of downtown, tucked along the freeway; a place you wouldn’t think to find a dining establishment. Parking was plentiful, but packed given the huge event in town. One of the great things about this place is they grow their own vegetables and herbs, right outside and you can see, touch and smell it as you walk in. Speaking of walking in, you’re instantly sent back in time, about three decades — where you see people of all generations — and can easily pick out the tourists from the locals. We ended up sitting around the U shaped counter, wedged between an out of state couple and local couple(who brought their own homemade butter!). As you look around the place, you see local goods for sales(local made backpacks) and memorabilia from local teams, and plenty of references to Duluth and the great state of Minnesota. The menu includes the usual suspects, and include influenced dishes throughout the world. We ended up ordering the Smoked Salmon Salad, Raw-Ghetti(with chicken) and housemade sweet potato chips with hunyrika sauce(more on this in a moment) — ironically, what we ordered was nearly identical to the out of state couple(runners think alike?!). All things smoked is a big thing in northern Minnesota, so I had to try out what they had — I was impressed, with the salmon holding a medium smoke flavor(plus the slightly spiced flavoring and dash of lemon and dill). The salad fixings were wicked fresh, clean and prepared with plenty of love… the red pepper vinaigrette pulled the entire thing together. The Raw-Ghetti was definitely the star of our experience — we added chicken for protein — but it’s a veggie take on spaghetti with zucchini noodles, fresh vegetables and raw walnut marinara sauce. If you’re a veggie fan and want something other than a typical salad, order this up! The sweet potato chips were a nice change of pace, fresh cut and fried just right, it provided a nice texture change our salads. The hunyrika sauce is something out of this world, hard to describe what it is… but trust me, get this and you won’t be disappointed :-) Find this place, make a plan for lunch/dinner — don’t leave Duluth without stopping here!!!

Duluth grill is great. They are your stand alone neighborhood diner complete with the counter and swivel stools. The décor is a ton of Minnesota art, both local and out-state regional. Metal flying pig sculptures to masterful paintings of roosters. Excellent eye candy covers all corners of this place. The service is great. Coffee carafe toting young ladies are zipping all over the place to make sure that liquid gold is steaming the top of every mug in the joint. They all excel at their duties and do so with a smile. The food is awesome. I got the smoked salmon omelette with hash browns and a pecan roll. The salmon was good at first bite, the eggs were fluffy and creamy. Deeper into the dish is when it became glorious. The smoked salmon was so delicious and it was smothered in cheese and dill. OMG, I’ll be back for this. The salmon, btw is sustainable and smoked locally. Eggs are local as well as the dill(it’s from their parking lot). No joke– they have raised gardens surrounding the building and get most of the herbs(as well as the little flowers that garnish most dishes) right outside the front door. Katie got the two egg breakfast and she is fussy about her over mediums. They were perfect and seasoned just right. The bacon was delish and yep– local. The bread choices include uDI’s gluten free at no additional cost. Pretty cool if ya ask me. I like high fat, high gluten and high flavor. Duluth grill hit on all three, but thankfully gives you options if you aren’t into what I’m into. I’ll be back. Soon.

We were in Duluth for a family wedding and didn’t know the area, an ad for the Duluth Grill was on the back of the ship schedule down at Canal Park so we thought we’d give it a try, and boy are we glad we did! We had a total of 6 adults and 4 kids… everyone loved Duluth Grill! All of the kids meals came with a nice size plate of fresh fruit. Among our orders there were pancakes, fish sticks, macaroni, garlic-gouda burgers, fish tacos, the gyro, blue cheese cole slaw, sweet potato chips, onion rings and raspberry iced tea. Everything was amazing. They have fresh veggies growing in their parking lot and use local, organic ingredients. They were also featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives… We could not be more impressed. If ever in Duluth again, this will be our go to restaurant!

Duluth Grills is seriously out of this world. To give credibility to my statement, it was also featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Service: Every time I’ve visited Duluth Grill I’ve had awesome service. This past weekend when I was there our server was hilarious. My friend really wanted a caramel roll but they usually run out by 11 or 12. Our server was sad to let us know that they ran out. About ten minutes later she runs over and says«oh my gosh, we just found six caramel rolls». Completely made breakfast Atmosphere: From the moment you park in the lot, you realize this is not an average restaurant. There are gardens and plants all over the parking lot and outside of the restaurant. They are actually growing the food that you are going to eat. How cool is that? Duluth Grill also does a great job catering to a diverse group of people. They have gluten free options, everything is organic, vegan, you name it. Food: I’m really embarrassed to admit that I ALWAYS get the BLT. I’m not one to order BLTs but their bacon is the best bacon I’ve ever had. It’s thick and fried to perfection. It comes with a few options. The only two I’ve had were the sweet potato chips that come with a tangy sauce and onion rings. The sweet potato chips are very distinct flavor and really good. I’ve also tried their caramel roll which is also amazing. That explains why they run out so early. Drinks: It was a warm weekend in Duluth and I wasn’t feeling the traditional hot coffee. They offer both cold press and an iced coffee. The great thing about their iced coffee is that instead of pouring hot coffee over ice cubes, they pore cold coffee over frozen coffee. They also only offer pop in glass bottles because they do not believe people should drink a lot of pop. Sadly, I’ve never taken a picture because I get too excited to eat. Next time. But, if you’re in town, you must check it out!
