I’ve been to almost every Korean hair salon in the Duluth area, and it’s been pretty hit-​or-​miss for me when it comes to getting my hair done. My sister had her hair cut by a lady named Mindy a couple weeks ago, so I asked for her as well. Mindy was very friendly and gave me tips on how to take care of my scalp health because it really affects your hair health as well. The haircut took a little longer than average because Mindy seems to be a perfectionist, but I’m not complaining there because I want my hair to look good as long as I’m paying for it to be done! I will definitely be back and I’m going to ask for Mindy again next time as well

I’m primarily giving this place 5 stars because Christine’s back! Well, Christine’s probably a new addition to JYP’s staff, but I asked for her all the time, years ago when she was at Pika Pika on Pleasant Hill (in the Hmart shopping center). She moved and well, my hair hasn’t looked so great since then.
The salon itself feels more mature than Pika Pika, and perhaps a little more warmer in terms of customer service. For the most part, the salon is clean, but it’s not the most pristine-​clean salon I’ve ever seen, so I’d say it’s about par for the course. Most of the staff seems to speak English.
I think it’s a little more expensive here to get your hair highlighted, but for me, at least, it’s the same non-​bleaching method. I got a discount overall because i got my haircut too, but in the end, I walked out $ 130 before tip. I think this is still way more affordable than going to some sleek American salon.
Definitely will return to see Christine for my next trim.

After reading the great reviews on Unilocal,I was excited to check out this newly opened hair salon in duluth. What a disappointment though… I got a hair cut from a lady named June. I think she was the owner. She seemed like she wasn’t in a very good mood. I felt very uncomfortable the whole time she was cutting my hair. She didnt smile or say anything other than asking what I wanted done. I usually go to hair salons to feel refreshed, but I didnt feel good at all after my visit here. Hair cut itself was not exactly what I wanted either. I didnt ask for layers, but she added layers so now I cant skip styling in the morning… Unless you know a hair stylist from here who has been doing your hair for a long tym, I wouldnt recommend new customers here and I dont think Ill ever go back here.

An Indian Masshole walks into a Korean hair salon in Georgia and asks for a Texas updo.
I made an appointment the day prior and when I arrived they told me they tried calling to cancel because they were insanely busy.
Despite the initial terror of having my appointment canceled, they quickly rebounded and said they’d make it work. This place is crazy busy with a Korean clientele. They do a great job, and I could tell their clients were loyal. Both men, women and children came through.
More than one employee worked on my hair. They divided and conquered. I was very happy with the results. I was worried they would rush and not do a great job but they worked hard and fast.
Even though my appointment was almost cancelled they get 5 stars for pulling through.
The salon is clean and modern. I’d be happy to go back!

I love JYP Hair Studio! I got a magic straight perm there — it makes my hair smooth, soft, and straight so I don’t need to damage my hair by using a straightener every day. My stylist June was so nice, and I trusted her completely! The atmosphere is also very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place, and I know I’ll be coming back. Best hair salon in Atlanta, hands down.

My stylist Christine is AMAZING!!! You must come and request for her! Not only is she the best at hair cuts and colors…, Shes great a recommendation s. Plus it doesnt hurt that she is also really really PRETTY! Come check her out guys!

Great atmosphere with a friendly staff. I went here for the first time because my hairstylist, Christine, relocated. Ask her to change your look and you will not regret it. She specializes in hair coloring and she never disappoints. She is also bilingual. Best hairstylist in Atlanta!

Wow… That was my first thought upon walking in. The interior was very upscale and leagues above any other salon in the area. And the employees were awesome! Finally, and most importantly, was the haircut itself. My hair was cut and styled by Christine. Now, I have a «double-​crown» AND cow licks so my hair is extremely hard to cut&style. But Christine showed herself to not only be an expert, but an artist as well! As I write this the next day, not only did she do a great job with the style, but it is also very easy for me to style myself in the morning! I cannot recommend Christine enough, if you go to JYP, make sure to ask for her!
