I haven’t been back to kabobish because the pita bread was hard and stale. Very unfortunate but the thrill is gone. Dear Kabobish: serve your food hot and fresh or not at all!

You can find Kabobish at 3555 Gwinnett Place Drive, Duluth, GA30096 between Pleasant Hill Rd and the parking lot for Gwinnett Place Mall. It’s kind of behind the Panda Express and Wendy’s on the main drag and just short of the really fantastic Breakers Korean BBQ. Parking is in the lot out front and to the side — there’s plenty. I found out about this place by accident and took a special trip out to try it out one weekend afternoon. The exterior has a red-and-black striped awning and they occupy the corner of a row of buildings. The interior has a chain-restaurant, fast casual feel(I’m not sure what it was before but suspect a different restaurant) — there are exposed beams in the ceiling — I“m guessing something Latino? In any case, you walk in and get in line to order at the corner — in the front you’ll see these really beautiful copper tandoor ovens but they weren’t fired up while I was there. The menu was listed on monitors above the counter and exposed kitchen — lots of glass and stainless steel with simple furnishings — it has all the earmarks of a chain but I couldn’t find out any information on it while I was seated waiting for my food. From the website(look for kabob-ish) this may be the first of a new concept with a focus on healthy foods(and yes I approve — it seemed to be an Indian take on Zoe’s and included some Mediterranean and Caribbean options). It took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive. I wanted to sample the most that I could so I opted for a combination of two kabobs, the Chicken Tikka and the Saffron Tikka(chicken). Both were really moist and delicious with the infused marinades and slightly crusty flame broiled flavors that I’ve come to love. Next time I’ll try the shrimp and lamb. I asked for both kinds of rice and while I did eat them, I thought they were pretty bland but maybe that’s the point? They did offer a contrast to the very flavorful meats. You also get a bit of salsa fresca, some fresh sliced onion and a lime(similar to what you might find with tandoori chicken at an Indian or Pakistani restaurant). There are additional side sauces including some chili that I liked quite a bit. The service was, well counter service so I can only say that the person behind the register was very knowledgeable and made some recommendations from my questions — very kind and I could tell she really liked the food(she recommended the jerk for something different but for my first visit I demurred). Overall a top-notch experience for a single diner on a sleepy afternoon. I think this is a fine concept and I look forward to dining again.

Driving up this place looked like it’s going to be a blast, it has an outdoor patio and ample indoor seating. I was expecting the food to be a A little more spicy or smoky considering the logo has a chili pepper with flames and outdoor in front of the building they have a a huge double barrel barbecue smoker, but after ordering I didn’t get that feeling at all. The menu was pretty straightforward, it had about 10 different things you could order and I ordered the beef with Juniper rice, and it was good but again I was expecting something a little spicier(I set down at the tables facing the window and had to look around for the spices as they work at every table like I expected) Overall the meal was a great for the price and you might have to order food a specific way to get it spicy, so I wasn’t disappointed I can’t say I was completely blown away.

Not bad, not bad at all. Imagine a fast food Mediterranean joint, then you’ve just imagined Kabobish. The kebabs were good, plenty of free sauces to try. Better as a take out than as a dine in. Portions were a good size, several different rice sides to choose, wasn’t happy about having to pay for extra pita… All in all pretty solid three star …

Delicious! I had the shrimp kebab, and lamb kebab. It may take about 10 to 15 minutes to wait for your food, but the meat is well marinated and delicious

On a Sunday afternoon, my friend called me and he asked to check out this place with him. I was reluctant at first and I was trying to avoid this place. This place is about 25 – 30 mins away from my place and it was worth a drive on that afternoon. The place has a pretty good patio seating along with indoor seating. You can actually see the food preparation once you have places the order. They have this huge grill which is used to prep food. The food was delicious and the spices were hitting all the tastebuds. I ordered Paneer Tikka and the dish was way beyond my expectations. My other friends ordered lamb chops and chicken tikka. Romi who is the General Manager of the place approached us and asked our feedback. Everyone gave him a positive feedback and promised to return again to try other menu items. This shows that he cares about his customers and is ready to take any feedback from his customer to improve the overall experience. I would highly recommend this place and would love to introduce this place to my other friends.

My friend recommended me as I love Chicken Tikka, Lamb Chops and Salmon. It was a Sunday and I decided to go to Duluth all the way from Alpharetta along with my 2 friend(one of them is going there on consecutive days). First look: amazing ambience and I loved the place where they had the grill. Everything prepared after you place your order. Food was amazing. It’s refreshing, the aroma was tempting, tikka and the lamb chops were cooked to the optimum. The best part: Romi who takes care of this whole place was just amazing. Inspite of his hectic schedule of managing the kitchen he took the time to approach us and asked about the food. He’s the real rockstar, and he is an amazing Manager. Thats not all he made sure he checked with all the customers. Really great customer service gesture. If you are nearby this place, dont miss this. You will not get disappointed. Kobobish: All of you are doing a really great job! Thanks for making my weekend

Just found this place, what a gem. I had the gyro wrap. #8. My husband had the Beef-Shish #6. Food is prepared right in front of you, fast and hot. The beef marinated is great. The staff is friendly. Stop by, check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

I came here with a friend. She ordered Jamaican jerk chicken with dill rice. I ordered the koobideh sampler with saffron rice. We came around dinner time on a Saturday and surprisingly it wasn’t busy and we didn’t have to wait in a line. No complaints here! The place eventually picked up later. My friend really enjoyed her entire dish. I enjoyed my sampler as well, however I actually preferred the spicy chicken koobideh over the beef. I guess it’s all about personal preference. The beef was hard to cut, maybe it’s because I was using a plastic knife. I was worried that it was an indication of how the meat texture was going to be. Luckily, the meat itself wasn’t tough and was actually tender. The spicy chicken koobideh was not spicy in my opinion but the flavor was good. The manager also asked us if everything was okay and even offered to get us something else if we did not like what we had. That was greatly appreciated. Luckily, we enjoyed our meals and did not have to opt for anything else. 5 stars for good food and great customer service!

It wasn’t as good as I had hoped for. The dishes indicating they were spicy did have some heat. I liked the sauce bar. All of the sauces were quite flavorful. I enjoyed the green one the best. The chicken Masala was very dry. The habenero mango wings were ok at first but then we realized that they were slightly undercooked. The portion size is fair for the price. I can’t stand eating my dine in food off of paper plates or when they use styrofoam. It feels so cheap and wasteful I will not return.

Kabob-ish is a new fast-food type Indian restaurant that has been opened for roughly a little over a year. I gave it 5 stars due to the following: Location: it is right besides JeJu spa on Pleasant Hill, outside of Gwinnett Place Mall. Very convenient for us, since we live down the street. Service: the minute we stepped into the restaurant we were greeted by the manager. Since it was our first time there, he went above and beyond to give us samples and make sure we were satisfied. He gave us a plate of 4 different meats and 4 different rices because we were indecisive of what we wanted for lunch. He also gave me an ice cream after lunch as dessert. We also had a couple of sample pieces of hot wings. Super friendly and great service to new customers. Food: You have to order your food at the counter and they will give you a pager. The pager will buzz when your food is ready for pick up. It took a little bit because they make everything to order. At least you know you’re not eating old food that has been sitting out all day. The food were all delicious! I had the grilled beef shish and my bf ordered the sample plate, which came with a strip of chicken and beef. I love the sauce that they have next to the drink fountain. We tried all 5 sauces, but I like the spicy one the best. Make sure to get the mango Popsicle! It was Omgosh so goooddddd!!! Price: the prices were cheap! My beef shish dish with a salad was only $ 9.99 and my bf’s sample dish was roughly around the same price — can’t remember exactly how much. Cleanliness: I like that the manager was walking around cleaning up after people left to make sure that everything is nice and clean for the next mass of customers. The restroom was also clean. A total plus! Good job guys! Seating: they have ample of seating inside and out. Since today was so nice, we sat outside. Overall, I would definitely go back to this place for some good Indian cuisine. Service, food, and prices were all great. One of my favorite new places for lunch.

Kebob newbie here! So it’s great that one of my first came from kabobish. I told staff while I was at kabobish that it was hard to make a decision because everything looked SOGOOD! I did settle on the #18 sampler($ 9.99), which gives you two Koobideh kabobs. Taken from their website, the beef koobideh is «Ground beef mixed with grated onions and our special seasonings, broiled over an open flame.» and the spicy chicken koobideh is «Minced Chicken marinated with Saffron, Onion and home made seasoning» These are both served over rice of your choice, including white rice, saffron rice or Vegetable Rice Pulao, or you can get all three like I did. The beef koobideh was seasoned excellently, and each bite of it was better than the last, not dry at all, and it compliments any of the three rice selections well. The Chicken koobideh is one of their spicy selections, so if you’re not sure how you handle spicy, this is a nice go to sampler choice. In my opinion, the spicy chicken wasn’t very spicy at all, but again, I like a little kick! The flavor of the chicken matched the beef koobideh in terms of quality. Seasoned very well, not dry, moist even, and as a bonus, you get more of the chicken than the beef(see pictures below), so there’s that. All three rices were lightly seasoned just right, with no need to reach for any season or salt of my own, and I didn’t leave a grain behind for any of their rices! A small chopped salad also comes with it, and while I forgot the dressing for it, I was able to squeeze a bit of lime on it that they also packed, added a pinch of salt, and it was also tasty. The interior is really nice, clean, open, and I love how you see your meat cooking on open flame. It’s a nice touch while you’re sitting and waiting for your food. Speaking of waiting, the only negative I can think of about kabobish, is you’ll wait a bit for your food. It took slightly longer than 15 minutes for me to get my to go order. I was there on a Sunday afternoon, and it was packed with customers, so that could have been the reason, although I didn’t mind it so much, but if I were in a hurry, I might. Located right next to Jeju sauna at the corner of pleasant hill road and Gwinnett place drive, it’s pretty easy to get in and out of the parking lot to either street. Parking isn’t a problem either with the shared lot. I’ll definitely be back to try the chicken tikka, which I almost selected today, hopefully with similar results!

5 stars. Not all on the food side of the things, though I loved it, my wife was on the border. My toddler was being way too cranky the day we visited the venue. I ordered a Beef kabob and my wife a spicy chicken. Both were very good but seemed like my toddler wasn’t really enjoying the dish as I thought. The manager was walking along checking to see if everyone was enjoying their lunch, and came to us and asked if we wanted a rice to give to our boy. Sure! Then he brought us a rice along with 2 chunks of chicken on the side. How nice of him. I was impressed by the service he provided. When we were done with lunch, I started packing and my boy just started crying and went overboard with everything around him. The manager quickly came over and asked us if the boy was ok. He was, but he wasn’t really eating well my wife said. He then suggested he give us some other dishes to try. Then he proceeded to actually cook the other dishes for our toddler. I had to leave because of my lunch hour break was ticking, but when I asked later, the manager was making sure our toddler was eating well and even gave our boy a desert cake to make sure he was happy. My sincere thanks for understanding the toddler being cranky and trying to offer us different dishes so our toddler can eat. If you haven’t been to this place, try it. I was focusing mainly on the service we got, but the food is excellent.

What Up Unilocal!Eh Look. Not a bad spot for a different alteratie to your tier 1 dining. Instead of fast food or a wing place, you may want to try this take out simple dine in place called Kabobish near Pleasant Hill. It has a bunch of things on the menu such as lamb or beef gyros, chicken tisala, koobideh(beef or spicey chicken), chops, salmon, jamaican jerk, shrimp, a sampler, paneer tikka. Lots of items I myself would like to sample. Had the gyro. It was not over the top with portions but it was average at best. Enough to go on the rest of the day and try something else so you can review on Unilocal.Prices were a tad, just a tad bit higher than I would expect for a place like that with most menu items ranging between $ 9 – 10 without a drink. The service is average. Place has about 15 tables to dine in or so. Check it out, good place for quick bite but that about it. Grade: C

It is refreshing to be able to enjoy yummy kabobs in a casual way without having to shell out $ 60 – 100 dollars. Let me say that I don’t expect a casual establishment to really touch the flavor and quality that I have experienced at Rumi’s and 1001 Nights for meat. However, Kabobish fills the much needed gap of high quality kabobs served up in a casual and affordable fashion. We arrived very early, so we didn’t experience the crowds, but they were there when we left. First impressions: Clean establishment, modern, and greeted by friendly staff(girl with pretty eyes) as we entered the restaurant. Order at the counter. As soon as I saw Sumac(red spice) on the table, they earned instant street cred. I knew this wasn’t your run of the mill«Mediterranean Grill» like establishment that tries to be Greek, Persian, Italian, etc. This place is all about kabobs. Sumac on the table means that they are serious and cater to clients in the«know» of Persian and Middle Eastern cuisine. Sumac brings out the flavors of the meats. It isn’t spicy at all, but imparts a very subtle lemony/tart flavor to your rice and meat. You add quite a lot of it to your food. A side benefit is that it also acts as a digestive aid. This place is a carnivores delight and not a recommended place for your vegetarian or vegan friends. Food: Very good quality and value for your money. Paneer Tikka — 5 stars. Big blocks of happiness. Excellent masala and nice crunch on the outside with soft paneer on the inside. You feel like you are eating paneer and not dried out tofu like many other places that try paneer tikka and charge you a fortune for it. Paneer is an Indian style of cheese. Sampler minced meat kabobs — 4 stars. The chicken was exceptional. The beef was flavorful but a slightly dry. Lamb Kabobs– 2.5 stars. 3 of my medium cooked kabob pieces were mostly fat and gristle and I had to leave them behind. The meaty parts were very tasty though. It was a bit hard to cut through with the plastic knife though. Sharp knives would be a plus, esp in a kabob place. Rice: very fragrant and super fresh Salad: fresh Condiments: nice assortment of sauces to accompany your kabobs and salad I can’t wait to try the steak kabob(shish kabob) and chicken tikka kabob on my next visit. I will certainly be returning. I live in Duluth, so knowing that I can get kabobs for take-out on lazy night really makes my day. If I am low carbing, I can avoid the rice and go to town on meat and salad. I love having that option without having to break the bank.

I came to this place all the way from Buckhead because of my friend who only eats Halal meat. The first impression of the restaurant was good, very clean and modern, a little different from many authentic Mediterranean restaurants I’ve been to. The menu was simple and you could see the meat on skewers being grilled in front of you as you order. You get your choice of meat, rice(choice of 4) and a side of fresh vegetable. I got to try both tikka and shaffron dishes for the first time here. Both chicken tikka and shaffron chicken were good and went very well with the side of fresh vegetables. From looking at the chunky-ness of chicken, I thought it would be dry but surprisingly it wasn’t and it had lots of flavor to it. I will definitely come back to this place and try other dishes on the menu, like gyro and grilled salmon, which is a recommendation from a friend who is a regular.
