I guess you get what you pay for. Sadly, that is not a price your beloved pet should have to pay. When I picked up my female dog I immediately noticed the incision was protruding and looked s-shaped and lumpy. I asked why and was told, «She just had surgery». You aren’t sent home with antibiotics or any type of ointment, which I thought was odd as well. After two days I knew I made a terrible mistake. I took her to the local pet hospital and was told the incision was«overlapping», instead of the preferred method of butting up. In addition, they shaved her too close and caused a skin burn. Over $ 100 dollars for burn cream, antibiotics and antihistamine later and still it may have to be recut to be fixed. To add insult to injury, I was told she was the 3rd dog seen that week with complications from Planned Pethood. If you want to offer an affordable option for this service, you’d think you’d do it up to industry standards and not harm helpless pets. Completely Unacceptable!

I have taken several cats here for their spaying and neutering services. Nice, caring people and their prices are great too!

My sister found a cat and had him neutered here. Making an appointment on their website was easy and the drop-off and pick-up went smoothly. After we picked him up, he was a little out of it, but came around in a couple of days. It was very reasonably priced as well. We also take our two dogs to their low-cost monthly vaccine clinics. It’s very cheap and although the wait times can be verrryyyy long, it’s worth it! Don’t forget to buy heart worm preventatives while you’re there, it’s cheap. :-) I would recommend bringing your pets to the vaccine clinics or getting spayed/neutered at Planned Pethood. They are very professional.

I’ve gone to their monthly vaccine clinic on different occasions with both my dogs and a cat. Sometimes it’s a bit crowded, but they’ll let you check in and leave and then call your cell just before the vet is ready to see you. A good option if you live nearby. Everyone there is very friendly and professional. A great way to get your pet’s annual shots for a very reasonable fee.

I took my male cat to Planned PEThood on Monday to be neutered. Today is Thursday, and he’s doing great. He never had any complications, and his surgery site is healing beautifully. The people there are very caring, and do a great job. He was neutered AND got his 1-year rabies shot for $ 45! Definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs to get their pet spayed/neutered and is on a very tight budget like I am!

Wanted to take a moment to update my review. My kitten had no complications at all from the spay surgery. However two days after the surgery she stopped eating, began vomiting and became lethargic. Since she was still not eating the next day, I took her to our local vet. After doing a thorough exam, the vet concluded she must have picked up a virus at the clinic when she was spayed. Kitty didn’t eat for two more days. Had to take her back to the vet for help with force feeding her. Thankfully on the fifth day, Kitty was back to normal. However, after two trips to the vet, we would have come out a whole lot cheaper had we just gotten her spayed by our local vet(not to mention I’m sure the kitty didn’t like feeling sick). I can’t say for sure that she contracted a virus at Planned Pethood, but it’s the only thing that makes sense. There are a lot of animals coming in and out for surgery… many of them strays. It probably wouldn’t be all that difficult to pick up a virus unless the staff is being extremely cautious with their sanitation procedures. On a positive note, my sister-in-law brought her kitty there to be spayed a few days ago and the cat did just fine. I really do like the people here and I sincerely appreciate what they’re doing. I wish our experience would have been different.

Do NOT takes your pets to this place if you care about whether or not they live or die. My mom took her cat here and he is now dying in the vets office from an auto immune disease from their assembly line surgeries and using dirty tools — which they admired to doing. If you have taken you per here and they have survived then you are lucky. Planned Pethood kills pets with their careless surgery procedures. Take your pets to a real vet until these people figure out how to properly do surgeries.
