Good food! Great service! Portions/size of the meat is a little small but with the cheap price you can just get another order and extra veggies are included.

I want to like this place, but I couldn’t stop myself from thinking how much more I’d enjoy my Shabu Shabu experience if only my other regular spot had a table for us! My parents refuse to wait in any line so my dad said let’s try something new. PROS: — Super clean and very friend staff. — We had a couple of beers with us since the other place(Mini hot pot) is BYOB. The manager said that was fine here too which worked out! — Unlimited veggies! Meaning all the cabbage and bean sprouts your heart desires. — Speaking of veggies, very cute boat display of them. This matters to me. Haha CONS: — The meat. Sigh, you can not jip the customer’s meat. The portions look okay, but then you realize how small the actual pieces of meat are. Very disappointing to the whole table. — One note sauce and broth. I missed the make your own sauce table. And I also noticed the hot pot bowl wasn’t really deep and barely covered the egg I was trying to boil. Not really an issue but I thought that was interesting. Overall I probably wouldn’t go here again and I feel bad. For a Saturday night, the place wasn’t very busy and the staff was really accommodating to us. The thing is, I am always down to spend money on a great meal and the skimpy meat portions is really the main reason I’m waiting in line next time!

This was my favorite place out of all the shabu restaurants in Duluth. Upon finishing my meal, I found hair at the bottom of my sauce. I guess I was pushing it down while I kept dipping. My hair was up that day, so I don’t know how it would’ve gotten in.

Very average place. Everything including Beef is of average quality. If you buy stuff from h marks and DIY, you’d have the same. Nothing to praise at all. I wonder how could people give five stars. No taste for good food?

Shabu shabu plus just couldn’t satisfy my shabu cravings. I ordered the beef shabu, it came with a veggie boat which contained, an egg, clear noodles A LOT of bean sprouts, fish cakes, rice cake, pumpkin, 2 pieces of cabbage, 1 bok choy leaf, enoki mushrooms, one slice of mushroom, imitation crab stick, a piece of a corn cob, tofu, and a hot dog sausage? Lol All the veggie items I do like, they only give like 2 pieces. I do like bean sprouts but not for shabu shabu, only for my phở. I felt like they just used that as a filler item. I would’ve liked more cabbage, bok choy, and mushrooms. The server asked me how spicy I would like my dipping sauce and I chose medium. It was a perfect spice. The sliced beef was cut very small. Once I placed it into the boiling broth it shriveled up. Also, you get no choice in broth flavoring. There is one standard broth flavor, which I am not totally sure what flavor that is. Overall, it was a decent meal but it lacks a lot of standard shabu amenities.

Really great price for the amount and quality of food. I definitely recommend for their lunch special. Big chance of getting food coma afterwards because the portion was so big but that not something I would complain about. I got the beef lunch special with the spicy sauce. The server was attentive and helpful — even when we asked for extra sauce and extra cilantro. And of course soooo delicious! Definitely going back and recommending to friends and colleagues

Shabu Shabu Plus! Where do I begin… There are a lot of different HotPot restaurant around Duluth alone. But the cleanest with the best customer service HotPot restaurant is Shabu Shabu Plus. Located in the same Plaza as Duluth Super Hmart, with other competitive restaurants. Customer service was outstanding.(Although you need to press the bell, which allows the waiter/waitress to be alerted) The amount of food is just about right for the price, and not overwhelming. They offer healthy but filling food choices. They upgraded the heating machine, so you do not have to mess with the temperature as much. Although HotPot restaurant is very competitive, if you want clean, affordable, with customer service; you have come to the right place. «Same things are boring, try something new.»

Great mini hot pot place! Really cute restaurant and really nice service; the veggie plate has a good mix of things, including glass noodles and rice cake, and you can ask for more, and the sauce is pretty good. Got the chicken and the seafood hot pots and they were perfect.

One of my favorite places to get Shabu Shabu. The inside décor is nice and clean. The staff is attentive. The sauce(s) is on point and the food is fresh. I enjoy their selection of veggies and seafood.

Shabu Shabu Plus was recommended to me by a friend because according to her, they offer unlimited veggies(Truth), and their meat is more premium than J’s Mini Hotpot(Ehhh…). Anyways, I stopped in with my boyfriend for dinner and they have a 9.99 $ premium beef specials and so we both got that. The waitress asked us what kind of sauces did we wanted… they offer: Spicy, Medium spice, and non spicy. I also asked if they have any sweet sauce so she got me a ponzu sauce. Slightly sweet and kinda sour. They only have one soup base… and thats it. Anyways, the premium beef were very very small. It did look more fatty and new compare to J’s but, since it was sliced SO thinly… I couldn’t really taste it. Also, the portion were very small. I guess since its 10 $…it makes sense. But I rather pay the original price and get more meat. Overall…I won’t be returning. It is very affordable compared to other hotpot place in duluth, but it just didn’t hit the spot and there are so many other hot pot place in the area to try. :/ P. S. service were friendly though… so another star for that. :D

It was my first time eating shabu. This place was pretty good. We got the lunch shabu($ 10), which comes with your choice of meat and a sushi boat full of veggies including half a hot dog sausage, egg, tempura, and others. The food was good and I’m inclined to believe their no MSG claim b/c I didn’t feel the affects the next day. The workers were friendly and helpful in explaining the shabu process to us. The inside is well maintained with a clean somewhat spa-like design. The dinner prices aren’t much higher either. I would recommend this place.

Their food is very good quality! I have visited other hot pot places, but this restaurant only uses healthy ingredients in their soup! I love how the vegatables are refilleable. Their employees took good care of me, and recommended what and how to eat. I love this place.

Loved the service~ Their new sauce recipe is great! I really liked how they offered free vege refills :) The owner gave me free noodles for liking their facebook page haha. Overall, I was really satisfied and astonished at how much they have improved since their opening when I walked out rather unhappy.

Worst service ever… they were too busy horsing around and let my pot burn… on top of that they did not even offer complimentary rice or noodles at the end… if you want your money’s worth choose other shabu shabu restaurants.

Extremely small meat portion. Ponzu has a good, zesty flavor but no hot drops. Goma is ok. Large portion of vegetables but it includes unnecessary items like bean sprouts and purple cabbage; the Napa cabbage is lacking in quality also. Overall, if you’re a shabu enthusiast, this isn’t the place.

As a shabu shabu, the soup base isnt worth the price, neither the sauce impresssive. For a 13 bucks wo tax price, the amount is fairly small. I am about an kid size. Service is ok, but overall, ill say its pricy considered the food quality. Btw, this is korean shabu shabu, not the japanese shabu shabu i think, purly based on the sauce.

Mediocre at best. If you are going to compete with places like Gom and mini hot pot, it has to be little different to stand out. First, the portions are small. After this month, the price will go up from $ 7.99 to $ 12.99. Im not sure if i want to pay that much for the such small portions. Second, the meat taste. Different. Its ok but it tastes a little gamy like phở meat. And They dont let you make your own sauce which is thumbs down for me. Third, they have no idea how to make porridge after you finish your meat and veggies. The dumped the rice, egg and so much sesame oil all together, the finished porridge was filled with greasy lumpy eggs. I’ll probably try again in couple of months cause you really can’t go wrong with shabu shabu.

The interior is clean and they didn’t really remodel from what the place was before(I think it was a different restaurant called Fork Story?) but it’s simply decorated and the focus should be more on the food anyway. For the month of April, because of their grand opening, they are offering an awesome deal where you can get beef or seafood shabushabu with a full veggie plate for a mere $ 7.99! Awesome deal for shabu shabu. Food was decently fresh. Came for lunch around 2:00PM and it was still pretty packed. Also, you can order extra sides of noodles/meat if one serving isn’t enough. Because they are running the special, we ordered a whole extra order of beef+veggies($ 7.99) and a side of kalgooksoo noodles($ 1.99) A couple of things: 1. Service was extremely slow. We sat for a good 10 minutes without anyone speaking to us or greeting us and did not have waters or anything. Big no-no. Then my obnoxious dad loudly stated/kind of yelled that we’d like some service(not in a mean way, just in a hey-we-are-hungry-way). After that, they were great. ha! 2. First helping of food was great– Second round, however, the meat tasted a little bit funky. Can’t exactly put my finger on it. but yea, it was weird. 4 stars because it is clean and the $ 7.99 special right now is great!
