This place is closed. We tried to go eat lunch there a few days ago and could not find the location in the strip center. We drove the entire shopping area twice and did not see the place lit up, like it was open. I called their number and it is disconnected. It looks like this place went out business in just that past few weeks… too bad.

Great sandwich place! I get the sailor’s delight(Italian sub) and it is well worth the price. I do not have a problem paying a little more money for a quality meal. The only improvement they could make is speeding things up a little bit. I use nearly my whole lunch hour there. While the ipad ordering idea is cool, it is does take longer than jotting it down. Very friendly staff and super clean facility!

I like this little café a lot. There are no other small restaurants around with this kind of theme, I like that. The Knotty Bouy(Reuben) sandwich I had was delish, and it came out fast. I actually used a Groupon and they accepted it quickly and happily. There was a good crowd in the café during lunch which leads me to believe that it was popular in the area. Nice lunch menu with simple apps, salads and big delicious and fairly priced sandwiches.

Sadly, I will not return. The place itself was very cute, total nautical theme. The guy that took our order was a sweetheart. We were behind a woman that, seriously, took 20 minutes to place her order. She was doing something with her smartphone, so no more complaining. My issue is I was on my lunch break and that 20 minutes was valuable to me. Once we got to the counter he apologized. That went a long way with me. The food was mediocre, I order a Rueben on rye… it came with coleslaw on top that was almost a soup! It was gross in texture. The meat was too far gone for consumption. It had a rancid-y aftertaste, I still taste it as I type this 15 mins after eating it. UGH!!! I got the potato salad at the recommendation of the guy taking our order and it was actually pretty good! The portion was all of two table spoons and at $ 8 for the combo, I would have expected a tad bit more. The sandwich was even tiny. As it was wrapped in foil first then paper, I was shocked after opening the paper and seeing how small the sandwich was. Soooo, without further ado, I seriously doubt I will return. Co-workers were raving about it since it’s the new spot in the area. So, I tried it. I see other reviewers love it, so I am sharing my experience only and while it should be considered I will not suggest anyone stay away. Especially if one woman’s trash is another’s treasure. It did nothing for me or my palate. Maybe it was a bad batch of meat. Maybe we caught them on an off day. Maybe it was the last of the pastrami… who knows. They will not get another $ 20 for two sandwiches out of us again.

Pros: First of all, I love the name. It’s what drew me to the Groupon that we ultimately used to purchase a very tasty lunch. This place makes a mean sandwich/wrap. Great fresh ingredients, good Boar’s Head meat, and skillful assembly. My husband loved his club sandwich, and I thoroughly enjoyed my turkey wrap. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the sweet tea was good. Once the order was taken, the food came out fairly quickly(and we beat a rush of other customers – some who the employees knew by name). Cons: The two folks behind the counter seemed a little overworked on a Saturday. We had to mull over the menu for a bit before ordering and when we were ready we felt ignored while the employees continued to assemble other orders for at least two minutes without even looking our way. One other drawback was seeing some of the set up behind the counter, including a prominently displayed microwave. And finally, although the food was good, it seemed overpriced. I was glad we had a Groupon because a sandwich, a wrap, a tiny side of potato salad, a tiny side of pasta salad, and two drinks came out to over $ 18.00.

What a great find close to home! I’m so glad the boyfriend and I skipped our usual Panera to try Nautical Nest — it was quite good and I can’t wait to go back and try more of the sandwiches. He had the Rip Tide and I had a chicken salad wrap — both with potato salad(which was good, but not great). Very friendly staff. Give them a shot!

I’ve been to this place twice. Great service in a quirky(in a good way) atmosphere. I hope they can make a go at this and be very successful!

Overall: A delightful gem of a sandwich shop. Ambiance: Great nautical theme throughout. You will be reminded that you are(in fact) quite close to the Caribbean coast. Reggae music, signage, décor & playful menu all tied in nicely. Customer service: This is where they shine. For an inexpensive sandwich joint, I really was surprised out how friendly and attentive the staff was. I ordered a sandwich to go and got a nice looking box lunch containing my sandwich, my selected side and a pickle — all hand delivered(I was waiting at a table). Price: Very reasonable sandwich & deli fare. Sandwich + chips + pickle + drink for less than $ 10 out the door.(I used the Unilocal special and got a free drink — my total was closer to $ 8) Food /Quality: Excellent fresh produce. High quality Boar’s head deli meats and cheeses. Highly recommended. I’d say it’s even worth a bit of a drive to check this place out.

the Nautical Nest is definitely off the beaten path and what a great find in Duluth, a city I rarely visit. A dear friend invited me to lunch with a Groupon, told me the name of the restaurant and I followed up with my usual research to find great reviews. The few photos listed on Unilocal previuously didn’t do much for me though, so I added a couple of my own :-) We arrived right about 1:30 on a Fri afternoon, the place had a couple of customers already dining. The décor, very clean, wood flooring and nicely decorated, not over done! We were greeted by the owners son who took our orders. The owner who was present and nicely grooomed(don’t usually expect to see a nice button down shirt and pressed slacks:-) behind the deli)…also greeted us with a smile and quickly a conversation started. I shared with him that his Unilocal reviews were excellent and I planned to get right on board after my dining experience so here I am! The owner comes around periodically to check on you and chat a bit as well as the staff checking in for refills, great service with a smile:-) I had the Captains Favorite buffalo chicken sandwich on a seeded Kaiser roll, side of kettle chips(there are other options like potato salad, pasta salad and bags of flavored chips by Ms Vicki(I love Ms VIcki’s chip selections). I washed it down with the sweet/unsweet tea mix, loaded with lemons. My friend ordered the Sailors special with a beer on tap! Yes, Nautical serves beer and wine, I consider that upscale for a deli with great sandwiches and service such as we experienced! All the sandwiches are fairly hefty but not overstuffed. Neither of us were disappointed although my friend didn’t like the spicyness of my sandwich(we shared halfs), as thats a good way to review. The Nautical is a small deil tucked away near the Kroger and L. A Fitness shopping center. There was some construction going on in that area as well so don’t blink and miss Nautical Nest… Now, I shall add my photos and whenever back in that area, it will be a great second visit…

This place is awesome! It’s a little hard to find… next to the Kroger and the new LA Fitness being built off Pleasant Hill. We tried it this past weekend and it was delish. They now have beer and wine and a superb selection of sammiches and salads! Clean, fast, nice people, good food :-)

I have been back like 10 times since I wrote this last review. Pretty much the tastiest sandwich place around there. Myself and a coworker go pretty much weekly.

Delicious! I got the chicken salad sandwich — yummy and great flavor. My husband got the«coastal rescue» and loved it! Great turkey meat and wonderful sauce ! We found this place on Unilocal and it was a gem of a find! Everything was great ! We got sides with our sandwiches– pasta salad and close slaw were just like mom makes! Great friendly people working here too! They desserts looked awesome but we were so full there was no room!!!

I have been to the Nautical Nest three times in the past week. Their food is absolutely delicious, especially anything on a Kimmelweck roll. Chris, the owner, is usually behind the counter and offers a warm and inviting atmosphere to taste his delicious creations. The Ship Wreck is probably the best roast beef sandwich I have ever had! Try the club sandwich on a «weck» roll; equally delicious! This quaint café and deli is a hot spot in an otherwise lackluster area for quality cuisine.

Great sandwiches! I ordered the«Lighthouse Club», with pasta salad as the side. My husband ordered the«Shipwreck» and thought the horseradish was very flavorful and strong(needless to say, he enjoyed it very much). The kids meal was great too. My child doesn’t usually finish his meal, but loved the turkey and cheese roll(and side cookie). Everything was freshly made and tasted great. Also, very good sweet tea. Restaurant was also extremely clean and staff was very friendly. Great place to eat with the family.

Took me FOREVER to find the place. The map my Unilocal app gave me was wrong! I did however find it, and to my delight, the food was fantastic. I ordered a cup of soup and the«Shipwreck», which came with a side(I picked the pasta salad). The food here is portioned small, but fresh and incredible. The soup was just ok, the pasta salad was great, but I didn’t properly prepare myself for the«Shipwreck». This sandwich was perfectly heated roast beef on a roll I only wish I could eat again. The owner Chris was also a really cool guy who chatted with all the customers.

My 2nd trip today. My son is a local cop and had been raving about it. I had a Scoutmob voucher so we had lunch last wk. Really good. This wk, went after a 4 day migraine, hadnt eaten in days and was so hungry. The potato soup was delicious — whether homemade or canned, it was great! And so was my rueben and choc cake. Charlotte was great to chat with and the mail man too who was in last Saturday when we had a late lunch. My new fav place in Duluth. I am done w Panera, Jasons Deli — Nautical Nest is my place now as I work my way thru a different sandwich with each visit!!! The only con — the potato salad wasnt anything spectacular last wk but the cole slaw this wk, very tasty! Will be telling my neighbors and pals about NN and the great service and great food. Support your small biz owners!!! Thanks!!!

What got wife and me to this deli was Scoutmob. It’ s in a strip mall at Peachtree Industrial and Pleasant Hill Roads, on the northwest corner behind the Dunkin Donuts and next to Sacks Thrift Avenue. We strolled in, were promptly greeted by the guys behind the counter, and then fell into menu studying mode. Wife ordered chix salad on wheat, side of pasta salad. My eyes bulged slightly when I noticed that the first item on the wall menu was called the«Ship Wreck», aka thin sliced roast beef served warm on a Kimmelweck roll. Will my hopes be doused by a cruel imitation, or will I find one of the gems of all Sandwichdom in Doolooth, Georgia?! Oh my friends, I am happy to report that true ‘wecks’, complete with nose-flaming horseradish, are running wild in the Nest! The potato salad was good. The Community Club Iced Tea was OK, but the Weck is best consumed with a cold brewski. I noticed some amazing-looking desserts, but was too stuffed with Weck. Chris, the owner, stopped by the table, so we had a talk. Nice guy, and has visions for his business. I say hurrah, and I will return.

I really like this place a lot! In a neighborhood full of fast food joints & generic sandwich shops, we were so excited to find this new place just down the street. They make a mean, true deli style sandwich & they make it huge. I had the ‘First Mate’ & a cannoli(which, btw, was one of the best I’ve ever had) it was great. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, salads & even breakfast goodies for the early birds. On top of all that, the décor is adorably dressed up in lighthouses, boat wheels & seagulls(I’m a sucker for anything nautical themed) & the folks that run the joint are as sweet as the pies & cakes in their dessert case. I hardly ever give reviews for food places I like, but I wanted to write something in hopes of spreading the word about this place so maybe more people will check it out. Our neighborhood is notorious for closing down something I like & I’d love to see this place do well. It’s just behind the Dunkin Donuts in the shopping center at the corner of pleasant hill & peach tree ind. Give it a shot! I’m sure you’ll love it! PS, they also offer delivery & curbside pickup!

This is the best deli in town. I’m so picky about my sandwiches and the meats used and this was amazing! The café is so clean! The owner is so nice! Good service is almost non existent these days so when I find a place with good food and great service I’m a customer for life!!!
