Who charges $ 1.00 for an extra rice at a Korean Reataurant these days? Food is good but whoa. I’m so surprised.

Hands down the best Tofu Soup place in town. They are little hidden in the back of Pleasant Hill. There soft tofu soup are fresh and has a lot of flavors. They give you a lot of good sides. The service are good even though the servers don’t speak perfect english but they are nice.

Great service, the servers were very kind and attentive, food was great but i wish the soup had a little more bite to it, other than that i can’t complain.

This place is tucked in not a very lively shopping center. Their Korean dishes are typical. Thus I gave an a-ok since there isn’t anything super enticing that would bring you in… unless you are craving dolsot bimbimbap or tofu soup: D I ordered the #4 under the Special Menu — Hot Stone Bimbimbap with Soon Tofu(picked mushroom soup). This was enough for two people(and we were stuffed). So, including tips — $ 10/person isn’t a bad dinner at all. The server was super nice! So I had a great customer service experience!

Food I ordered spicy but not«Korean spicy». To me it was a 2⁄5 level. I wasn’t expecting 4⁄5 or 5⁄5 but I would’ve liked 3⁄5 spicy level. Décor Pretty clean and modern for a Tofu soup place. The place is a lot fancier than the ones on Buford Hwy. I like how shininess. Service Water was refilled. Bonchons were refilled. The fishcakes are awesome and we got that refilled like 4 times. They gave barely tea which didn’t taste like dish wash. Would I come here again? Probably. I don’t love this place and there is a lot of competition in the area but I like the clean décor and service.

I’ve dined here several times with my family. Service is inconsistent but the food is always good. One of the things that I like about this place is that they offer a nice variety of ban chan(side dishes). This review is for my dining experience last night. We came here around 7ish and the place was pretty busy but our food came out pretty quick and the service was actually pretty good. I find that when I dine at Korean establishments, the only time that I get any service is when I ring the bell that is on the table. Our server last night was pretty attentive and checked on us a few times without me having to buzz for her. I ordered the galbi and beef soondubu last night and both dishes were good and totally hit the spot.

Went here with the bf and his friends. Service was sweet, but I guess is it bc we had a Korean person with us? They came often and checked up on us. There was a good amount of side dishes. Barley tea was served as a sub for the usual water. I ordered the bibimbap. It barely had any meat. It was purely a veggie thing with a sprinkle of meat. For what it is(meat free), it was good. The crispy rice was a def plus! The bf’s oyster(?) tofu soup was good. It wasn’t as spicy as it could be, but pretty decent. They loaded it up with lots of tofu and not enough meat, but I didn’t mind. The bf thought his soup was okay. The purple rice was good though. Parking was plentiful as this complex is hidden from the mainstream Korean places.

Their food is pretty good~ sides are great! More spicy than most of the Korean place. According to my sister’s classmate, here is where korean come. Very close to what she had back in Korea. However!!! If u are not Korean… Don’t expect u got any good services. We try to get a refill for some of the sides, one of the server told us they out of bean sprouts… As soon as she said that… Another server just brought some bean sprout to another table… they also set us right by the front door when there are many empty seats. So don’t come if u can’t speak Korean.

My new favorite tofu house in Atlanta. Their lunch special is only 6.99 and u get a lot of food, I Mean ALOT. I especially like their side dishes, they’re much better than the other Korean tofu houses I have been to; very authentic. I would come here everyday if I live around it

I’m new in town so Well Bean was one of the first restaurants in the area that I tried. My friends from college and I came here early in the afternoon to find the dining area moderately packed. The interior was simple, modern, and best of all, air conditioned. The waitress seated us quickly and we ordered our food. The hour was a cascade of Korean foods. The small dishes came out first and I was impressed with the variety. Kimchi, fish cakes, seaweed, and fish! I’m a big fan of the side dishes and I was not disappointed. I ordered the combo with galbi and kimchi soup. I guess this place is known for it’s tofu soups but the galbi was tender and flavorful. The soup was amazingly flavorful and packed with tofu. For 17 dollars, I felt that I got my money’s worth with two full dishes and the abundance of refillable side dishes. At my old go to Korean restaurant in Minneapolis, just the galbi alone would have been 17 dollars, though I suppose there’s a different standard in ATL. Still, I would say this place set a high bar.

Best tofu around, delicious panchan! Definitely one of the best tofu houses in Atlanta, and I’ve tried a lot. I always get their beef soondubu – cannot go wrong with soondubu, ja feel? You won’t be disappointed just know they’re usually kinda busy so you might have to wait a little but nothing ridiculous

This is my grandma’s favorite tofu house, and probably mine as well. They have the typical side dishes, the tofu soup, the fresh rice, and the rice in water at the end. Their service was great, constantly refilling our sides! I decided to get a Togo order and my waitress even offered to package it uncooked since I wouldn’t be eating the soup until tomorrow.

My favorite tofu restaurant. Been to many in Atlanta and this place is the best. Love that free marinated salmon dish. Around 8 – 10 more side dishes that are fresh. Used to be 6.99 but raised the price to 8.99. Still worth the price. Service is very good here. Servers stop by at least 2 times to ask if we need anything extra. We never ask for more. Cold spicy mixed noodle«nyengmyun» is little too sweet and too much sauce for me. My favorite here is the oyster tofu.

I was pretty excited to try this place out ever since my friend told me about it. My usual go-to places for Korean food are SKD and Cho Dang over on Buford, but since I moved away, I am always wanting to try«new» places that I’ve never been to. Plus, the name sounds like a place I’d go to. Came here with a small group around 6:30 on a Saturday, and it was not too busy, so we were seated promptly. My first impression was that the atmosphere was very modern yet had a touch of traditional asian-ness. Its nice in here! The waiters were very attentive and we were able to place our orders quickly. I got a Dolsot Bibimbap because unfortunately, they weren’t serving their summer specials!(–1 because SDK serves their cold dishes no matter the season!!!) I wanted so bad to get my kongguksu fix, but alas… The side dishes were typical banchan fare and were all delicious and consistent with other tofu houses. The bibimbap was consistent as well and all in all, nothing was wrong with anything here. Perhaps I’m not too terribly picky with my tofu house food, but it tastes about the same as the others in the area and I haven’t really had one that was just completely off. I’ll definitely want to come back to try their Kongguksu!

You might get a sniff of a stinky feet smell when you first walk in but don’t let that stop you from trying one of the best tofu houses in town! The portion is huge here and they have an amazing variety of side dishes. I promise you won’t leave here hungry. Their tofu in the tofu soup is super creamy and soft(I heard it’s homemade), and the short ribs that came with the combo were tender and juicy! This was also the first korean restaurant where the waitresses actually came to stop by and asked if we needed any refill on the side dishes. Overall I was happy with my dinning experience here.

I’ve been to this location a few times in the past and I stopped going because the food quality started going down. I came back this week after my hiatus to see if things have changed and unfortunately they haven’t… I ordered the usual at tofu houses — the combo: tofu soup(sundubu) and Korean BBQ ribs(galbi). I usually get my tofu soup with beef but you can choose from the other meats they offer. My meal came out fairly quickly along with the banchan — small dishes of food. It was nice of them to offer me all of the banchan and not skim on it even though I was dining by myself. They also bring you the stone bowl with purple bean rice. They scoop the rice out for you and pour water or barely tea in there to soften up the remaining rice on the bowl so you can scoop it out later yourself. The tofu soup was a little disappointing. It was mostly filled with tofu and had little bits of beef in there. To be honest, I barely had any beef in there… I also got it spicy. Instead of it being flavorful, I felt like I was just drinking spicy water… I can handle spicy food, but I really didn’t taste any of the flavors of it. It was definitely diluted too much… So the sundubu wasn’t a hit, but the amount of galbi they brought out was enough to make me slightly hopeful that the rest of my meal wouldn’t be so bad. However, I was only happy for a little bit until I actually tasted it — tasted really bland, not flavorful at all. Even though they brought me the most galbi I’ve ever received at any other location, I’ve also definitely tasted better galbi elsewhere. There were also only a couple of banchan dishes that I liked and some that I really didn’t touch. The fish they usually give out was not good. It was really cold and had a funky taste to it. Service at this place is on point though. They are super friendly and always come to check on me to ask me if there’s anything else I need. I also really like the layout of the restaurant, especially the private booths that’s blocked off from each other. Really gives you the privacy you want. I really hope this restaurant improves in the future. Everything was on point except for the food… which is kind of a problem. Haven’t completely x’d this place out yet so maybe I’ll give it another go in the future.

Recommended by an aunt at work to come and try. The place was better than other tofu places, for sure. When my friend and I walked in, the waitresses instantly came and asked us how many people and showed us our seating — 1 star for quick service. I noticed that there were about two waitresses in front and about 1 – 2 cooks in the back at that time. The restroom is small, only one person at a time, but the sink was really oriental exotic. The exterior was small(located in this cul-de-sac full of other Korean restaurants and shops), but the interior was pretty spacious, neat, and clean — 1 star for decorations, exterior, and interior. There were some booths in the shop for customers to seat at, which was pretty cool. And there’s also a bell that we could press if we needed anything. Now onto to the food, it was in one word«delicious». There were plentiful of side dishes(ban chan) that you can always get refills in. And they serve the side dishes before the main dish comes, so if you’re hungry, eat the sides. They also serve tea instead of water at the beginning, but if you’re like me, who’s not a big fan of tea, you can always ask for water. I had ordered the oyster kimchi rice with the special combination soondubu(includes seafood, beef, and soondubu), which was terrific, in my opinion. It came out still sizzling and cooking which was really good, since I just noticed that the oyster in my kimchi rice was raw. I forgot to ask them about it, so I just placed the raw oysters into the still cooking soup and let it cook for a while. But that didn’t affect the meal, the meal was still delish. The kimchi rice was pretty good, I had placed the side dishes in and mixed it all up and boy was that yummy. There were also raw eggs placed in a small bowl that customers had to crack into the soup when it’s still cooking — 2 stars for food. Overall, my first experience was great and I would most likely come back. Please note: * Waitresses are not very fluent in English, but they will try there best to understand you. My friend and I weren’t Korean nor could we speak it, but our waitress was very friendly. * LUNCHHASTHECHEAPESTPRICE/BEST BARGAIN –Busiest, unless you come near the end of the lunch time * No MSG: D

I really wanted something warm today. was between Bön juk(one of my fav. places) and here. Decided to go for some hot broth this morning. I think I made the right choice! The banchans here one of the best I’ve had in Duluth. The service was great, and the food arrived quickly. The soup wasnt the best, but comparable others. Overall good place to come and eat for pennies. I was surprised how inexpensive it was for the quality and quantity. Will definitely be coming back.

One of my Korean-American mom’s favorite Korean restaurants, she chooses this one out of all the ones in Atlanta. It is part of a large, international restaurant chain, JBSD, but don’t hold that against them. The main dishes here were all excellent — we usually go with the standard grilled meats and/or bibimpap. But I really liked the number of «banchan»(side dishes) they offer here. On our last visit, the banchan included picked cucumber; radish Kimchee(okay); regular Kimchee(which was, on this occasion, a bit bitter and under fermented); Fish cake with a too-sweet sauce; garlic stem(my favorite!!!); :“water” Kimchee(addictively good, it was easily my favorite); apples in watery sweet mayonnaise(better than it sounds, I’ll explain in a minute); and fresh soy bean sprouts. Decent Korean food at a decent price. Is it outstanding? not really. Can you find better Korean food in Atlanta? Undoubtedly. Will my Korean-American mom take me here the next time we are in Atlanta? Absolutely ***end of official review for Well-bean tofu*** So *what* is with the apples in mayonnaise? You find it at a lot of Korean restaurants, and surely you non-Koreans are thinking«well, *this* just can’t be traditional Korean food!» Depends on how far back in time you have to go to make it «traditional.» See, when we first started visiting Korea in the early 80s, there was not a lot of non-Korean/Americanized food to be found. You’d go to a «pizza» place, and they would just throw kimchee and other Korean food on some dough covered with fake cheese. Or you’d want to try out that fried chicken place, but the logo was a cute bunny, and it freaked your 8-year-old self out. But our relatives always wanted to make us feel at home, so they offered us what they thought would appeal to our American taste buds: namely, vienna sausages and anything covered with mayonnaise and/or ketchup. Of these different condiment-covered concoctions, the best were(1) the ketchup-covered, omelet-like eggs and(2) the apple-and-potato-salad-like mix. The ketchup-covered omelet-like eggs appear in some Korean restaurants as «omi-rice» — that’s right: fried rice covered by an omelet-like egg covered with ketchup.(It’s better than it sounds, especially when Spam is involved.) The potato-and-apple salad is a more common find as a side dish, but sometimes, it’s just the potatoes or just the apples.(If you want vienna sausages, you are on your own. So now you know.
