Delightful eclectic setting. Our Shepherds Pie special and coconut crème pie were winners on a cool day. Liked the water with cucumber and lemon slices. Very friendly service.

This is a hide-a-way we went to while passing through Dumas. It had a charming upscale atmosphere. We loved the rustic décor in an old part of town. The tortellini soup was excellent and homemade. The onion soup and sandwiches were very good. Large selection of sandwiches and plenty of homemade pies. Food is fresh and very good. Fly population needs some controlling. Might try lemons with cloves or Citrus plants.

An unexpected delight! I had baked ham, asparagus, and homemade mac and cheese for lunch. Delicious. The strawberry cream cheese pie was made fresh and was the perfect end to the meal. I will definitely come back when I am in town!

Great little local coffee and sandwich shop. Clean, courteous, and good! A little of the beaten path but worth it.

Stopped off here on our way through. We had the French dip and chicken avocado wrap. Absolutely delish. The strawberry cheesecake was very light and with fresh glistening strawberries. It feels like eating in your own home. Very friendly staff. Did not have to wait long.

I had a very very good Reuben sandwich at the Alley Café. It was delicious. They also had specials that looked good and truly like homemade. They told me they close at 2:30 on the Tuesday I was there. Ambiance is homey and clean. There weren’t many people there at 2 o’clock and service was very nice and quick. Five stars because I preferred this place over 287 roadhouse by far, and I was told that was the best place in town. I’m only here in a Dumas for a week, so I’m trying to hit the highlights. So far, the Alley Café takes the cake. Their cake looked great too.

This small town Café could survive in any big city. I agree with Brad Q that the restaurant has problems accommodating larger groups however it’s worth the wait in the hassles to get your soft drinks and silverware. As a café the selectionsare limited but everything I’ve tried is excellent. The desserts are particularly delicious. It’s a must try for lunch in Dumas.

This place is amazing. The food is all homemade and cooked by a woman who might as well be Paula Deen. We stopped by on a Sunday and they were serving their twice a month buffet brunch. It was delicious, hot, and we’ll worth the stop.

Good place to get something light. I like the ambiance a lot, it’s like your grandmas house! Sandwiches are yum. Pies are also great!

Everything I have had at The Alley Café has been delicious! Their potato soup is my favorite– that with a turkey sandwich is my perfect meal! Everyone is super nice and friendly! Love it!

Stopped by on the way through town and were pleasantly surprised. Our sandwiches were great and the tea was pretty good too. All the ladies were very friendly and welcoming. We will be happy to come back next time. A far superior road trip option compared to any fast food joint.

What a treat to find this oasis for great food in the desert of fast food between Amarillo and Raton Pass! Funky place, healthy and good food, AWESOME pecan pie for desert! So glad to see it so busy! Now I know it’ll be here next time I’m driving to and from Colorado!

Place was packed and they were not ready for it, you order at the counter and the line wraps around the west wall of the restaurant. It’s self serve on drinks which are all located… You guessed it on the west wall. So people are always asking people in line to move to get tea, coffee, cokes, silverware, you name it. The food when it comes, which it does sporadically, is decent, not much selection beyond basic sandwiches, salads and one soup. The pie is a different story however! If I go back it will be for a cup of hot tea and a slice of pie. I had the coconut cream my friends had the pecan and everyone liked it. I think this place benefits from a dearth of competition.

I work in Dumas ALOT and have to say this is hands down the best restaurant in town. There are daily specials that are always tasty, with that home cookin’ taste. Dont miss the chocolate cake, and the pecan pie looks like my granmother made it.

Chocolate cake is still delicious. Pecan pie is good too. I really like their salad with ranch. Fresh lettuce, tomatoes and carrots. But, I’m not a fan of lunch meat so I don’t really want a sandwich. The daily special with pasta, grapes and chicken is my favorite. Too bad it’s not always available.
