It was a little disappointing the egg drop soup was the only good item. The sesame chicken wasn’t that great for the amount u pay $ 10.50 it was like a lunch portion. The rice egg roll and crab Rangoon was cold. The delivery didn’t take that long maybe 40 minutes. The sweet and sour chicken was over Cooked and the oil needs to be changes some pieces even burnt. On to the next one…

So happy that they are finally reopened. Best Chinese in Prince William. Remodel has given them a cute eat in area. Food is still delicious.

After being a loyal customer for 4 years, I’m never ordering from New Hunan again. I ordered food and, after 45 minutes I still hadn’t received it. I called and they told me it was out for delivery. 35 minutes later, it still hadn’t arrived. When I called back, they said they’d rush it right out to me. It arrived about 15 minutes later, no discount given for any hardship. When I opened the bag, I noticed the contents were sloppily placed inside, containers on their side. In addition, the order was incorrect. When I called back to complain again, I mentioned that I didn’t feel it was right paying for a meal I’d now waited 2 hours to receive. I was placed on hold so they could take a customer’s order who had just walked in. When I was able to speak with the manager, I was told that they’d redeliver the correct food but, as I was already receiving«extra» food(the incorrect meal plus the new corrected one) they wouldn’t do anything else. That’s when I restated that I had been a loyal customer and felt it wasn’t fair. The manager began to raise her voice to me and, at that point, I told her I would no longer be a New Hunan patron if this was the way they treated customers and refused to make a situation right. I will be telling everyone I previously recommended the place to that they should take their business elsewhere. I wouldn’t even leave one star if I had the option.

We’ve ate at this place twice and we give it 3.5 stars. General tso and orange chicken were very soggy. If you like that kind of texture then give it a try but I like mine crunchy on the outside and soft tender chicken on the inside. Their fried rice is really good, that’s the only good thing I had there. Sweet and sour chicken were crunchy, someone used common sense and made air holes for the box otherwise it would have been soggy. Wonton soup was very salty and the meat inside of it was nasty. Egg roll tasted like any egg roll, cabbage stuffed with meat. We also ordered the triple delight and that was not that bad. The veggies that came with it was very gross. It did not look fresh.

I’m pretty happy to live so close to a good Chinese carryout. Hubby had the general tso chicken with sauce on the side and it was pretty darn good. It didn’t have the usual 2 inch thick layer of tasteless dough surrounding it. I got my usual veggie my shu. Love it from here. Hubby lives it too. We always get Chinese from here when we crave fast good food.

Very good! I ordered(for delivery) Wonton, Chicken Hunan Style, Fried Bean Curd with Mixed Vegetables and Combination Pan Fried Noodles. Very good food — veggies were cooked perfectly(heavy on the broccoli in all dishes(minus the soup.) I will certainly order again!

We were in the restaurant on a Tuesday at 515pm. In house was not too busy, but the phone was ringing off the hook with orders. We ordered and waited about 10 minutes for our food, which was reasonable. My hubs ordered General Tso’s. He found it yummy, more spicy than sweet(which it should be) he would love it with even more spice. I had beef and broccoli, it was good, but a little more salty than what I normally prefer. Each meal came with steamed rice, fried rice is $ 1 extra. Any egg rolls or spring rolls also extra. I mention this b/c some places include a roll with the meal. We took our order to go. Per other comments/suggestions we tried the spicy mustard, it was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Meal prices range from $ 8.25 to $ 12.95. Lunch portions run $ 6 to $ 7. We will go back again for quick takeout.

This is pretty good. One of the better places around here that we’ve tried. They deliver and are fast. The house mustard is to die for. I love it so much. If you like hot mustard ask for the house mustard!

My first & last visit to this place! OMG, walked in the door, no customers. Owner sitting in the restaurant arguing loudly in Chinese at workers. I said hello when I walked in, but no one spoke back. Lady took my order, after I said hello again, while looking very puzzled at me. I ordered lunch special, & waited, all the while the owner was yelling & screaming at the top of her lungs. This continued the entire time I waited OMG, I was really turned off! I told worker when she gave me my order that this was my 1st& last visit due to the uncomfortable atmosphere. The owner should have walked into the back of the store or waited until her customer left to yell & scream again. PS: Chicken & Veggie lunch special is good, average

This is my «go to» spot for Chinese in the Dumfries/Montclair area. The Kung Pao Chicken is really good, and ask for the chicken broccoli to be made spicy, yumm-O!

My husband and I love New Hunan. We have never had bad food from here. He always gets the combo fried rice which is really good. It’s not too greasy like some places, but it is fried rice so some grease is a given :-). The meat and veggies are also plentiful in the dish. With Chinese take-out I normally get 3 things, sesame chicken, orange chicken and general tso’s chicken and all are great! Nice chunks of fried chicken, flavorful sauce and good spice level. I didn’t care for their egg rolls b/c I found the wrapper a bit tough, but the spring rolls are perfect; nice and crisp and tasty. I would beware of any review by BW; she seems to be a 1 star bomber if you check her history and some reviews she gave without even going to the restaurant. I also checked their health code rating just this year and whatever violations they had were corrected. I’ve never gotten sick here. I’ve gone to the restaurant as well and while it wasn’t the most up to date, it was pretty clean from what I could see. But lets face it, if we saw what even upscale restaurants really did, we wouldn’t eat anywhere. As for service, it’s always excellent. If you’re worried about any language barrier, don’t! They speak very good English and I’ve never had a problem relaying info or understanding anyone I’ve spoken to. Delivery is always very courteous and very fast! We do live right in Ashburn subdivision, but still, getting food within a half hour is fine by me.

I’ve been to New Hunan quite a bit since it right near my work. I would have to honestly say that for a Chinese take-out place, it is pretty darn good! I’m half Chinese, so I’ve grown up eating and cooking the real stuff… and the food at New Hunan is right on the money! The portion sizes are plentiful(more than enough for me) and the sauces aren’t too sweet or greasy, which is nice. The prices are decent as well, pretty average to other take-out places. I was shocked to find that they had Sizzling Rice Soup(you have a choice of shrimp or chicken) which is very rare around here! I have only found the soup at restaurants in NYC and San Francisco, so when I saw it on their menu I had to get it! I had found it at one other restaurant in VA and was SO disappointed when the soup came out RED! It is NOT supposed to be red, it’s supposed to be a clear broth! When I had asked the waitress why their soup was red, she explained that it was because there is ketchup(what?!) in it because that is how the American prefer it!!! Yeah… Thankfully the soup at New Hunan was right on par and tastes wonderful! The rice doesn’t come out sizzling, which is sort of the fun part, but it is a take-out Chinese restaurant after all. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a decent and mostly authentic Chinese take-out place to grab a bite!

This has been our«go to» take out Chinese restaurant for 13 years. Not the best I’ve ever had, but consistent quality and friendly service at reasonable prices. Over the years I have tried other takeouts in the area when they have coupons in the mail, but none of them have the same quality.

This little restaurant is a gem hidden in this shopping center. I have been here a few times and the food is always fresh and has great spice. The soups are to die for. If you live in the area this is the place to get your chinise food from!
