Not really a fan of Cuban food but the food here is fresh and you can tell by the vegetables… what I like the most about this place is their empanadas… Oreo empanadas

Never had a bad meal at Cuban Eddies! My husband and I order there at least 3 times a month. My only problem is it always takes 20 mins longer than the estimated time they give you.

ordered delivery while at work, I was really impressed with the roasted pork sandwich it was perfect and simple. It was very delicious. My co workers that I ordered with also agreed that the food was delicious. The delivery time was average nothing extra ordinary but it didn’t take as long as others we usually order from. overall, will order from here again in the future

Great local place. The pricing is right on. I visit here very often and love the food. I am not Cuban but love to experience new things especially food. I decided to write a review after reading the non sense that client Mari wrote. Questioning if it is truly Cubans making the food. So silly… Stick to what you are familiar with Wendy’s, Burger King. You know., what educated foodies like yourself like.

I get an order to go once every couple of months. The food is always good. I would love to see a change or add on some creative specials. It’ the same menu over n over. I love Chicken Stew as must as the next gal but would love to try something new.

Sweet Lord Baby Jesus. Had my first encounter with Cuban Eddie’s on Friday night. It was delicious. Most definitely a great spot for take out or delivery. 1) Beef Empanadas — 4 out of 5 2) Guava & Cream Cheese Empanadas — 5 out of 5 3) BBQ Chicken 4 out of 5 4) Cuban Potato Balls — 4 out of 5 5) Steak — Solid 3.5 out of 5 Guava & Cream Cheese Empanadas are a must and should be required with each meal! Can’t wait to go back. WOOOW!

Awesome place. You can’t find a better deal around here, especially for the quality of the food. The portions are huge and the food itself is of authentic, homemade quality.

This spot is a great lunch place with a mix and match type of menu. Very casual and«home» feeling. The folks working there talk to you like you are a regular, very comforting. I had Ropa Vieja with white rice. It came with two sweet plantains but I ordered an extra basket for my lunch buddies. The rice is just right. Some places are a hit or miss. The Ropa was pretty good but could have used something. Just can’t put my finger on it. The sweet plantains were excellent. Very sweet and the right amount of juiciness. Great experience and I will be back again.

My boyfriend and I LOVE the food here at Cuban Eddie’s. We’ve been getting takeout there for a little over a year(the ambiance isn’t too nice so we get it to-go). We always get the same thing — ropa vieja with yellow rice and beans, sweet plantains, breaded steak and empanadas(all kinds, but especially the beef and cheese). He looooves the yellow rice and eats it as a snack the next day for lunch. They give you a crazy amount of rice and black beans, both of which are so much. This place is kind of a hole-in-the-wall, but the food is DELICIOUS. My boyfriend is Cuban and he is with me! I highly recommend!

Ordered delivery from there last weekend. The menu offered a wide variety of dishes. The prices, in my opinion, were very reasonable. The delivery time I’d say was average. Now the food really impressed me. Everything I had, from the empanadas to roasted chicken to cuban sandwich was delicious. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Wow how disappointed I was to eat at this place after rave reviews. Have had way better pork from places in Hudson county. The breaded steak was decent. The roast chicken again I have had a lot better. The yuca was dry. Maybe because they forgot the mojo. The beans tasted like vinegar and the sweet bananas were just pure grease. Would not recommend this place at all. Sorry.

Great food and great prices! The girls behind the counter weren’t too friendly but I can deal with that if the food is good. I ordered a side of yellow rice, it was delicious and the portion was very generous for only 2.50. I’m pretty surprised at some of the bad reviews I’ve read, however I can’t speak for any of the meat at this place since I haven’t had it/I don’t eat meat. I also picked up some of their homemade plantain chips and they were so good!

Our office orders from here pretty often. Although they get most of the meals right, it is VERYANNOYING that almost EVERYSINGLETIME, when we order tostones, they forget the mojito sauce! They forgot AGAIN today, even though we made it a point to ask for it. Then the girl on the phone sounds bothered because I said«yes» when she asked if we want the delivery guy to bring the sauce. Well, YES I WANTWHAT I PAIDFOR. She should’ve at least apologized for them messing it up again! I just don’t get it — the menu says it comes with it, we aren’t asking for any special favors!!! Besides that, they get our drinks wrong, too. We order sodas, we get water. The food is decent, and really the only decent tasting Cuban food in the area, so that is why we keep ordering from them.

I wish i can put 0 stars. I had this place in my Bookmarks for quite a long time… So after reading the great reviews, me & my hubby decided to give it try. We decided to get take out so we just asked what the specials were for today… I ordered the oxtail special with yellow rice & he ordered the beef stew special with white rice & red beans… While we were waiting, I looked on the table & there was a menu… I looked at the daily specials… UMM, OXTAIL @ $ 13.99(i only have oxtail & yellow rice). Hubby’s beef stew with rice n beans was $ 10.99… What kind of «SPECIAL» is that? Yea, i know oxtail can be on the pricey side, but beef stew @ that price? No way! Ordered a Mamey Shake(was told that it tastes like strawberry) which was $ 3.50. Total price = $ 30.47 kinda pricey for a mom & pop type place. Finally got home & everything was placed in separate containers. My yellow rice looked like it was boxed rice and it was extremely bland. Ur a cuban spot, put some seasoning in ur food. my oxtail was too salty. Hubby’s beef stew only came with 4 chunks of beef and 3 potato halves. He said his food was alright, but not good enough to go back to. The Mamey shake DIDNOT taste like strawberry(thats what the guy behind the countee said it tasted like bc we didnt know what it was). The shake tasted like a nasty ass protein shake. He didnt like the red beans. They cook the beans with something(might be chicken or fish?) He didnt like the flavor so ended up not eating it. Btw, none of the employees are cuban. The chef might be(maybe he’s Cuban Eddie??) The sit down area is pretty cramped. I was gonna order flan, but didn’t look right. All in all, we don’t plan on coming back here.

A non-descript place(the banner sign was hanging off the window) on Westshore Avenue in Dumont with absoulutely no atmosphere. I prefer to dine without having to watch basketball on tv. But the good part is the food is prepared fresh and lots of it is served and the prices are very reasonable. When I complimented Eddie on how good the food was, in this case Ropa Vijea was really good with fluffy yellow rice, he said; «thanks» in a shallow voice and that was it. I do not think he speaks English very well, either that or he is very shy. The shyness however does not reflect in his food. The made to order empanadas are a great treat; even though they are fried, there was no trace of oil to be had… I didn’t even need a napkin to clean my hands.interesting. Folks, this stuff is not from Costco, the onions for example come from Texas… enjoy but don’t get overwhelmed by the surroundings.

I really enjoy this place. They recently renovated & I’m so happy finally reopened! I recently had the media noche sandwich(it’s a form of Cuban sandwich but on a potato bread) therefore should be nice & soft but they over pressed the bread making it crunchy(so I would definitely ask them not to in the future) other than that, it was amazing, meat soft, juicy & melts in your mouth. I also always get the platains & garlic sauce as appetizers… a must try their coffee & empanada of guava & cheese, it’s a piece of heaven!!!

So far I’ve only tried the empanadas(which are made to order, $ 1.50/each). The chicken one came with peppers and hot sauce, and had nice flavor. The cheese one was with queso blanco; nice but nothing special. I’ll be back to try their lunch specials and flan.
