Came with the family and we were unfortunately sat beside an extremely loud and obnoxious table. This is the reason i did not give 5 stars. Staff should have realized by how much alcohol they had served this group that they should not have a family sat beside them. Otherwise, the food was delicious and the service was good. I had fajita-chimi’s which are just chimichangas with fajita vegetables included with the other ingredients wrapped inside. They were covered with melted cheese and I ordered the steak variety. The steak was true carne asada steak and was very flavorful. My wife had the carne asada platter and hers was very good also. Our grandson filled up on chips and salsa. The salsa regularly served is a little spicy so we asked if they had some that was not spicy for the little guy and they gladly obliged. My grandmother and aunt had a spinach and cheese quesadilla and both thought the filling was extremely salty, probably from the cheese but said it was good. I enjoyed the Dos Equis Amber on tap and the size of their regular margarita is the size of most other mexican place’s jumbo. We will definitely make this one of the places we visit on our next trip to visit family.

Los Agaves is a chain of above-average Mexican restaurants that seem to favor defunct Shoneys locations. This outpost has a nice little bar in the corner and a full array of booths and tables for the family. The food is good but not great, but it’s served fast and usually by a friendly waiter(I’ve yet to see a female employee at either local location. Decent beer and margarita prices and plenty of parking add up to make LA a nice and easy dining experience.

A call it a typical, average, Mexican restaurant that tries to cater to a good variety of tastes. 3 of us went for lunch. One had a taco salad. She didn’t think it was bad, but no better than anywhere else. Myself and another had the Mexican burger which looked awesome, was super messy(which isn’t always a bad thing in my book) but surprisingly had little flavor. The block of cheese on it looked like a stick of butter…, interesting but odd. Still price for what you get was average by comparison. Would stop in again but would not make a special trip to dine there.

We found this place on a business trip thanks to Unilocal.Got a steak to go with some peppers. Can only state that the steak was a bit bland and was NOT what I would expect.

Food is good and prices are reasonable. They also have live entertainment on Wednesday nights which is really nice.

Solid-quality Mexican food and very good prices. I had the Chile Colorado, which I thought was at least somewhat unique, but then again I don’t eat much meat and have never had Ranchera sauce. It was a lot of food. Get an appetizer and you could probably split it with someone. Or just gluttonously stuff yourself like I did. The meal, plus a big-sized imported beer cost a bit more than $ 15 including tax and tip. Not bad! I like how they seem to be building a chain of Mexican restaurants in former Shoney’s locations. Not sure if the one in Parkersburg is also in a former Shoney’s but this one and the one in South Charleston are. Another really great plus is that there is live music there on certain nights. They tend to have grizzled dudes playing solo versions of classic songs. It gives the place a roadhouse feel that I like.
