This is not authentic New Orleans seafood. I was not impressed at all. They used paper bowls, and didn’t know what file’ was for the gumbo.

Horrible!!! Will not be back. Very disappointed in everything. The food, service. The wait staff played around like little kids, while waiting for service. They didn’t know anything. She kept saying she didn’t know. Confused at wth! I just ate. Poboy sucked. Hot wings were sweet, not original at all. Gumbo taste like old wennie water. Disguted!

Not a well managed place at all! I ordered a half pound of shrimp and a half a pound of snowcrab, They brought me out 4lbs of shrimp and 4lbs of snowcrab. I told them this wasn’t what I ordered and they fixed it. I had to ask for refills, napkins, bib, and gloves, etc, etc. Then when my ticket came they try to charge me for 8lbs of shrimp. The waiters were cusin at each other outloud and didnt care who heard them. Worst service ever, And the owner was stressed out as well. Didn’t feel like I would take my kids.

In Mainstreet Station at the center of Duncanville where Toshio’s used to be. My date and I tried this about a month after it opened. Décor was cheesy but we let that slide since we were really hungry for some crab. Server was new and friendly but not very knowledgable. Menu was simple. Prices were higher than expected($ 25/lb was«Mkt Price») but again we were hopeful quality and flavor would be worth it. When our Rajun Cajun spiced crab came out about 10 minutes later in plastic bags and what a huge disappointment that attempt at simplicity would turn out to be. Legs were mostly thin end-tip pieces(3 each) but the real disappointment was the extremely poor quality of the meat in the larger 2 king crab upper leg pieces. Once unshelled the HARDOUTERLAYER of the MEAT screamed POURHANDLING, MAJORFREEZERBURN and MULTIPLE THAWs/RE-FREEZINGs. Thin tip pieces were not worth the fight and effort. We understand seafood is expensive, but poor quality seafood is not worth a dime or our time. We will not be burned by this place ever again. Go at your own risk but don’t say we didn’t try to warn you!

The crayfish where ok. Reasonable price at $ 7.95 /pound The shrimp salad however, was a bit of stale iceberg lettuce, and some boiled shrimp. Dressing options where only ranch or Italian. Total waste of $ 10.95

So after trying the boiling crab for the first time last week I was hooked, but didn’t want to make the long drive again and then have to wait more time to be seated. I searched on Unilocal for a similar place, and I found Louisiana king crab! The menu is almost identical, we talked to the owner and he told us they were partners, I’ve been here two nights in a row already! Now again I must admit it’s not EXACTLY like BC, but it sure is close and soo GOOD it will definitely satisfy that craving! Service was excellent! Thank you for having us LKC The only thing I was kinda bummed out about was that they were out of oysters! :-(

I was a bit reluctant to try this restaurant but I am pleasantly surprised. The snow crab was great. I will try the spicy flavor next. Our server was attentive. This is a nice neighborhood restaurant that you don’t have to wait an excessive amount of time for your food. The crab legs were fresh not frozen and cooked just right.

Had tiger shrimp, crab legs, and fried catfish. Everything was great and the hush puppies were the best I ever had.

To The Owner: Unilocaling is not about slapping you down. We want you to succeed. Trend: Like everyone here, I was excited to see this place open. Please stay in business BUT please change your interpretation of cooking. People are not stupid and YES we can taste the difference between FROZEN and FRESH. Make no bones about it, frozen doesn’t taste like fresh. The service was great. Good hard working people here. I’ve been dying for a shrimp Po Boy. The bread baguette was nice however, who cuts the bread down the top center? This is a sandwich, not a hot dog. Check out Sub-Way some day. Frozen shrimp. Dang! Go grab some fresh shrimp at the market, fry them and taste them. You should get subtle taste of the sea. Fresh. Throw your bag a frozen french fries in the trash. Use fresh and that will bring your food cost down too. How? Hmmm let’s see… 50lbs of potatoes about $ 12 at Restaurant Depot. Buy a wall mounted potato dicer, couple bucks. I busted 50lbs in about 10 minutes. Labor = $ 10/hr X 10min = $ 1.67 If you serve quarter pound(that’s a lot) then 50 /.25 = 200 servings then $ 12 + $ 1.67 = $ 13.67÷200 comes out to about $.07 per serving. Seven Cents! Frozen French fries 59cents/lb X 50lbs = $ 29.5 total, serve the same quart pound, 50 /.25 = 200servings $ 29.5÷200 = about 15 cents per serving. 50% more and less fresh. Remember to blanch them in the fryer for 1.5 minutes, cool them in the refrigerator over night then fry them again until golden brown for that crisp crunch. My wife got the catfish and she was happy. It tasted good to me too. I would go back for that. I think If you throw away EVERYTHING that’s frozen you will be a success. If you hire a Chef you will be rocking. Also, please just place a ketchup bottle on each table and a Salt & Pepper shaker too. A bottle of hot sauce or Tabasco would be appropriate also. Stop serving gumbo in deli cups. That’s too expensive for you.

Was kinda nervous about trying this place just because i read all the bad reviews. The po boy orders come with fries and gumbo soup. Shrimp poboy and Gumbo soup are delicious! We also ordered some cajun wings those we good too. We will be back!

My mom and I visited Louisiana King on a Friday night. We were greeted at the door and seated. We sat at the table for 11 minutes without being given a menu or asked for drink choices. I finally flagged down one of the young waiters and asked for him to ask our waitress/waiter to come our table. He returns after a short while and said he would take our drink orders. I ordered a coke and my mom ordered a green tea. Although green tea is on the menu, the waiter informed us that they don’t have ANY of the flavored teas listed in the menu. So my mom ordered a sprite instead. When the young waiter returned with our drinks he asked if we were ready to place our food orders. We said yes. He said he would be right back because he needed to get something to write our orders on. I ordered a pound of snow crab and my mom ordered the fried catfish basket. Twenty minutes later we received our food. The seasoning(The Whole Shebang) was lumpy and my crab was warm in some areas and cold in others. I was very disappointed. The crab was not cooked in the sauce and it was sort of sweet. My mom’s catfish basket was seasoned well and the fries were fresh. I probably won’t be back to this restaurant. They have some kinks that need to be worked out. The waiters shouldn’t check the guests at their tables by saying, «Y’all need something?» The restaurant is understaffed. There were several large parties in the restaurant that night and ALL of the focus went to those people. We’re paying customers too.

I was excited when someone moved into the old Toshio’s location on main, and even more excited when I saw the name and the menu. The excitement didn’t last long. I went in and ordered a shrimp poor boy to go. The bread was fresh, it was well dressed, but the shrimp were a very skimpy sprinkling of what appeared to be prebreaded frozen popcorn shrimp. You could tell that they were using frozen prebreaded shrimp because they tasted greasy(you need the steam from the cooking shrimp to keep the oil from being absorbed, which is the main problem with frying frozen shrimp) and that they were chewy. Including tax, I paid right at $ 12 for a mediocre poor boy, frozen fries, and a bowl of gumbo with a very strange, off flavor. The only positive was the service, which is what keeps them from getting one star. I knew this place had mixed reviews before I came, but I was hoping that it was just problems that were associated with their just having opened. Apparently they weren’t.

Horrible service! First & only time we’ll eat here. Our waitress also known as the manager answered her cell phone while taking our order. She also put that we were a party of six so gratuity could be added.(two adults & three children) When confronted she quickly said it is their policy to add gratuity to any size party. Which is incorrect the menu clearly stated parties of 6 or more. Please save your money! don’t eat here! Service & food suck! Rocking Crab just opened a location in Duncanville it’s much better than this dump!

Service was GREAT partnered with even better food. Waitress was very knowledgable of the menu and helped us since it was our first time there. Each meal comes with a side of gumbo. I would recommend to anyone looking to have a taste of Cajun food without the long wait of outside competitors.

Now I came on a day when it wasn’t busy and Kiki was on it! Excellent service and TVS everywhere. The fried foods had awesome flavor and were well worth it. The boiled seafood, being from New Orleans was very mild. I will return to try other menu items

Looooooooved it! This is it for me. Finally found a new spot close to home. My husband and I always go to Joe Cajun almost once a week because we love spicy cajun seafood. We ordered the calamari and cajun fries– good and can’t go wrong there. Shrimp in the whole shabang sauce-very good and fresh. It was huge and a little too big for me but everyone else liked it. Snow crab and king crab legs amazing!!! The king crab legs were it! It was soooo good. Loved it. Can’t come here and not get some. Added the corn, potatoes, and sausage to top it off. Sweet potato fries my favorite side. So good! Loved it. The final item was our staple wherever we go(like this) 4 lbs of crawfish. Overall we will be back! 5⁄5 stars 3 stars– flavor, taste, and freshness 1– price point is cheaper than other places but still up there but then again we had a big party 1– friendly staff and are more than attentive

This was pretty good. Had the wings, gumbo, and fried shrimp. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The only reason no 5 star was because the gumbo could have had more meat. Great flavor though.
