A RARE find! People with sewing machine repair knowledge as in-depth as the proprietor of Lin’s Sewing Machine are getting rare as hen’s teeth. This man has been repairing sewing machines since the 70’s. He is a master and was trained by Elna, one of the great, classic European sewing machines(arguably better than Bernina). Since the advent of machine computerization of machines and«modules» that just need to be replaced, you do not find this kind of machine knowledge and expertise anymore. I drove all the way from Austin after Sew Much More in Austin did a terrible job(for a higher price). I will be taking my machines to him from now on even if it means a drive from Austin to Dallas– he is worth it! I would also go out of my way to buy a machine from him. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you; this is a GREAT resource for serious stitchers.

A swell little local business. They did a great job fixing our vacuum cleaner and cleaning and tuning up my mom’s old Bernina sewing machine. I love the whole vibe of the place; it’s a maze of sewing machines and vacuum cleaners, they sell thread and some other sewing notions(not easy to find in this part of town), and are nice people.
