The winery itself is a lovely space. Having only recently been introduced to Argyle I was looking forward to visiting. My main issue is the steep $ 15 charge for a tasting. The prices of the bottles themselves are also fairly steep for a local sparkling wine that is good but not great. I see it more as a middle of the road bottle as in not Korbel, but definitely not Cristal. Yes, I know my sparklers and champagnes. I wandered over to another area and made a beeline for a bottle I recognized as a desert wine, which I am a bit of an expert at. It was delicious. Crisp, light, fruity, and would be a compliment to most deserts. Not too heavily sweet as some can be, but a refreshing Riesling. Having been delighted by this bottle I was a bit dismayed at the hefty price tag of $ 35. Most of these wines are much smaller batch, but I wouldn’t have expected that price at the vineyard. The retail stores yes, but not vineyard pricing.

Short and sweet: I really like Argyle wines(like, REALLY like them) but I’m shocked that they built this new tasting room. Right off the highway and a decidedly modern/industrial interior, the Argyle tasting room simply doesn’t have the atmosphere that I’m looking for in a wine tasting experience. There are such a vast number of nearby wineries that make the most of the beautiful views and general vibe of the Willamette Valley, that a trip to Argyle doesn’t seem all that special. The guided tasting I did go through was 3 pours for $ 15. It took over an hour, because the gentleman leading me through seemed — to put this delicately — wildly ADHD. Let’s just put it this way: I’m not at all a sports fan, and we spent at least 15 minutes talking about baseball. Again, fantastic wines. I particularly love their sparkling varieties. But I’ll buy it and drink it elsewhere.

What a beautiful tasting room! I went here for my birthday with 9 girlfriends and they were very accommodating. Very knowledgeable staff and excellent wine! Definitely will be going back and would recommend checking it out… you won’t be disappointed!

The hubby and I went back to Argyle on our recent weekend trip to Portland to get a few bottles of the Black Brut after tasting it during 2015 Memorial Weekend. This should definitely be included in the sparkling wine tasting. This winery is a must visit when near Portland area.

Extremely, extremely thrilled to be a Pop Club Member at Argyle. The new tasting space is stunning and as a member I love nothing more than bringing friends and family to try some of the best wines in the Willamette Valley. Besides… who doesn’t love bubbles? The staff truly are acquainted with all their wines and they share stories not only on the unique process of crafting bubbles but also the strong history that Argyle has bestowed on the Willamette Valley since 1987. Favorites: *Spirithouse Pinot 2012 *Blanc de Blanc 2011

Gorgeous tasting house, friendly staff, delicious bubbly, with lots of sweet spots to sit and sip. We recently came in for a friends birthday and sampled the flight of sparkly whites and a Rosé. Afterwards they treated us to a taste of the Pinot Noir. A really great experience that I would highly recommend!

Best place for bubbles in Oregon! The tasting room is beautiful and the staff was awesome. The tasting was informational and super interesting. It’s so nice that there is a tasting room with space for larger groups that still feels intimate. Try the Brut Rose, amazing!

Beautiful facility with knowledgeable, approachable concierge staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Argyle, sitting by windows in big, comfy chairs with flights of bubbly and pinot at hand, and not feeling any chill from the cool, damp day outside. We enjoyed their light touch in winemaking with the pinots, and very much enjoyed their chardonnay based bubblies. The Spirithouse and Conducere were each great representatives of the former and latter. They’re also their secret weapons in making people join the wine club! Happily so we’re among that tribe now. Great spot. Good people. Even better wines.

Super disappointed! We each ordered a flight(of 3)-very small pours-all poured at once, and you couldn’t mix red or sparkling(white may have been offered). They would not sell us a 2nd flight, per OLCC rules.(I have never heard of this, so it tells me that they have had issues with OLCC). Our server was not very informed or well spoken, and seemed frustrated. I won’t be back, and wouldn’t recommend

We showed up without a reservation, got in quickly for a wine tasting but were then turned away because we had drank 4ozs collectively. We purchased three bottles and we’re going to enjoy one but were told because of the OLCC, they served us their max of 4oz. This was our first winery and were sober. They were just acting like stuffy socks and their picnic benches were made out of plastic. Just saying. Beware.

Pretty disappointed with our service today. The star is for the wine, which was great. The poor review is for our server, the tiniest flights imaginable, and her failure to tell us that we could not have a glass of wine or open a bottle until we were mid flight. I’m sorry but $ 15 per person for 3 samples and no option to continue drinking any of the wines sampled is ridiculous. I understand you’re awaiting your liquor license but you could have led with that. $ 60 is nothing to sniff at for a measly flight for four people. Especially when that could have been waived had we been able to purchase the wine by glass or bottle. Who wants to sit in that big, new, beautiful tasting room and NOT drink the wine? Needless to say we won’t be returning.

Andrea is amazing! The wines were amazing! We got the pop flight(bubbly wines) and the red diamond flight(Pinot wines). Both were great. Filled with flavor and happiness. Definitely recommend this place.

They just opened their new tasting house — and let me say — this is a GREAT tasting home! It’s beautiful, spacious and very inviting! You can sit inside(plenty of seating, but spaced out enough for comfort), outside or at the bar. There are a couple tasting options — but prices have increased to $ 15. We love red wine so naturally, we went with the red diamond flight, but since I didn’t want us both to have the same flight, I went with the house flight which included a pop tasting, white(chardonnay) and a red(nuthouse). I was impressed with them all — but ended up with the pinot noir reserve/nuthouse as my faves! We ended up purchasing 6 to bring home with us(if you’re flying Alaska, they have a deal with Alaska where their wines ship for free!). Catch is the box is $ 8. In addition, our tastings were free(yay!) PS — I am a huge fan of Argyle. I had a bottle in San Diego years ago and remember it since. I am so glad we made it out here, it was a great way to start our trip!

It’s the middle of Summer so I went with the«POP» tasting. While I liked one of the sparkling wines, all of them felt like there was just a little too much bubbles hiding the flavour. Their late harvest riesling is not drinkable; reminded me of the syrup from a can of peaches… not complex or interesting, just sweet. Previous visits, Argyle has just been a little house on the side of the road, one of the most uninteresting tasting rooms ever — they have recently opened up some indoor and outdoor seating behind the original house… we weren’t allowed to check it out though because they were having a members-only event during our visit. I end up here almost every Willamette Valley visit just because their location is so convenient — I would definitely not go out of my way to come.

I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for a tasting. We arrived at shortly after 4 pm to find the tasting room absolutely packed. Thankfully one of the workers called us over and fit us into a tiny spot at the bar. After looking over the menu we decided to split the sparkling tasting. While my wife was still working on the first glass the rest were poured. I wasn’t really a fan of any of them and the Chardonnay, normally my favorite, had a taste I was not a fan of. Oh well, at least our worker was friendly to us and made us feel good. The bottom line for me is that I wouldn’t head back here again in the future. While nothing was wrong per se, I just didn’t really care for the wine here.

I am lucky to have connections who have«connections». My mother receives Argyle’s customer newsletter from time to time via email. She followed up with an opinion survey, and they gave her complimentary vouchers for a wine tasting for two. We had fun recently this spring tasting some of their wines and sparkling joys. The winery is set up in a cute little Victorian home in the heart of Dundee town. It was a delight to spot a bunny rabbit on their lawn. They confessed and said that they actually have several that live around the tasting room and greet visitors. They have a small gift area and a beautiful array of flower arrangements that brighten the ambiance. My mother accidentally lost her camera cartridge during our day out; we retraced our steps and let people know about it. By luck and grace, a gardener found it and we were notified a few days later that it turned up. What fantastic follow-through and care. Top-notch service, help and kindness. Thank you, Argyle.

Sadly, they decreased their wine flight from 5 to 3($ 15 per flight) because they are«trying to get their feet under the new venue.» Wine is good, atmosphere is great, but apparently they don’t offer bottle or by-the-glass service. So you can only do wine flights? Confused all around. This could be a great place, but they aren’t full service.

Beautiful setting and amazing bubbly! Very appreciative that we were able to make a reservation for the group of 8, Heather, the server, was very warm and inviting. LOVED the blanc de blanc, nuthouse riesling as surprisingly not too sweet which won me over, the Nuthouse Chardonnay however was unanimously NOT a favorite, the reserve pinot noir was good and loved ending on a sweet note with the minus five riesling and appreciated the new glass. We followed the usual tasting with the bubbles flight. By that time another server took over who was a bit less friendly and asked us count all the tastings, a bit confusing once you’e already started tasting for the day…

Off to dream… of flights of fancy, sipping wine outside full of summer light, warm breezes, ripe smells of flowers and fruit. That’s how I like to go wine tasting anyway. We hit about 4 wineries, some off the street and some up more in wine country in the hills where you see lovely views from above of all those grapes yet to turn into that nectar we all adore. This was our last stop before heading back home. And it was the best of all. This is a smaller venue, more intimate where you feel like you are sitting on a friend’s porch. And they treated us the same. They constantly came out to give us our pours of their wines without us having to go in and ask like a lot of the other spots we had stopped in. Too big to fail type places. Not here. We each bought a few bottles too because the wine captured all of that.

I’m a sparkling wine fan. Well, let’s be real, I’m a wine fan. Walking up to the tasting room, the outside garden/patio was straight out of a movie. Gorgeous landscaping complete with wisteria hanging over the patio. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly lady. The tasting was only $ 10, and the ones that peaked my interest were; 2010 Vintage Brut 2010 Brut Rose 2011 Riesling 2011 Nuthouse Pinot Noir Averaging $ 30 – 50 a bottle, which is what I normally spend, I really didn’t think it was overpriced like what a lot of others were complaining about. The staff were more than welcoming and friendly to us. I would recommend a stop if you like sparkling wines.
