The atmosphere is fine except it could use a good cleaning, the service was fine. The food was LOUSY at best. Our group ordered dinner fajitas, it was an absolute joke. A few scraps of chicken and beef with little to no veggies. I can honestly write that this was the worst Mexican meal I have ever purchased. I wish we went to Taco Bell… and I am serious! Do not come here for good food! On a positive note… the chips and salsa where ok.

What went wrong here? We walked into this restaurant and immediately felt that we inconvenienced the hostess by having a group of 5. After other people that came after is were seated… including another group of 5, we were finally put in a booth. Now on to the food… chips(very small portions) were blah. The salsa which was home made was OK. My Texas burrito was large but was covered with salty chili and had very little fresh flavor to it. The flautas that my wife ordered looked like the chicken taquitos that you buy at a grocery store. The kids meals we standard faire and served with applesauce and fruit cup that looked like it was past its expiration date. These were some of the worse presentations of food that I’ve seen. Oh. Drinks? Margaritas that had the worst fake flavor I’ve ever had. So to summarize, the food quality was way below what I expect and the service was horrible. Orders were messed up and the waitress seemed annoyed just to be there. Do yourself a favor. Don’t stop here. There are many other Mexican restaurants within a ½ hours drive.

Best mexican food in michigan! Fresh chips and salsa are made in house… 2nd visit here and we don’t even live around here! Only 4 stars not 5 bc some service is slightly above average… Food is outstanding!

Great food and awesome service. Will continue to come here to enjoy their fajitas and ice cold Pacifico.

The mixed drinks are not good — tastes like the cheapest mixes available are used. The food is all pretty much the same looking and tasting.. covered in cheap, greasy cheese. The staff has never been overly friendly. It’s too bad because I’ve wanted to like this place since there’s not much at all for Mexican around here and the space itself is pretty cool

I must downgrade to 3 stars from my previous review. It seems that the drinks are getting weaker than average and the food has slipped a bit. This is not a good thing as there are mexican places everywhere now. If one upsets, then you throw a dart at a map and try the next one. I hope this place can restore it’s previous glory before it’s too late.

On my way home from Ohio this past Saturday I stopped in to try La Fiesta. There were times before when we had tried to eat there and the line was out the door. There was no line out the door, but it was late for dinner so although we were surprised at that we were happy to be seated without waiting. Then I started looking at the Unilocal reviews and became a bit concerned. Then we got the food and it was fairly awful. My dining partner had ordered taquitos and when they came the beef ones were full of little black, burned shreds that may have been beef at one time but were unrecognizable at that time. I got a vegetarian plate that was Okay, but not great. They did remove the cost of the beef taquito from the bill, but the fact that would be sent to our table as something edible was not appropriate. One and done there.

Food was all dry. Seemed like everything was made way in advance and just microwaved. My margarita didn’t have any alcohol in it. On a positive the server was very attentive and nice. The salsa options were disappointing. The mild salsa looked like tomato sauce and the hot was over the top spicy. Wish there could have been some better options. It was very busy, so I guess the lack of choices in Dundee allow for business to continue. I can check this off the list. We had such high hopes, thoroughly disappointing food.

By far the worse«mexican» food I’ve ever had the displeasure of eating. Absolutely horrible service too… Save your $, save your time, and most importantly, save your tummy :(cheap & nasty…

Very good enchiladas and burritos. Try the sour cream enchilada with shredded chicken. Mm! Burritos are stuffed and HUGE. Delish home made salsa in mild and hot versions. Clean bathrooms. Great Mexican in a small town just 4 blocks from US23. This makes a nice side trip from Cabelas. I’ll be back.

Not impressed. The evening we went, a random weeknight. They were busy, waitresses seemed overwhelmed. My order was messed up, as well as someone at the table next us. The manager(I’m assuming) took my meal off the bill since it took the rest of the meal to get it back. The only upside, tamales weren’t bad, we got some to go and they heated up nicely the next day.

Disappointing is the best way to summarize this restaurant. While the meal started well enough with friendly waitstaff and the prompt delivery of chip and dip the food itself was sub-par at best. In short, nothing I couldn’t make on my own without much effort. The menu was being literal when it said the nachos, well, «Chips with Cheese», really were just were chips smothered with cheese so I guess I can’t fault them too much on that front since I got exactly what they said that I would; however, chips smothered with cheese, do not nachos make. Next up was the«Special Dinner» which really wasn’t that special and the traditional cheese and onion enchilada was overpowered by the raw onions in it. The tamale wasn’t anything special and the taco was surprisingly boring with no real spice to it. On the upside the chip and dip was good and as previously noted, the staff was friendly. The prices were reasonable enough so you could do worse if you are in the area and have to get something to eat.

As another reviewer said, it’s definitely a greasy cheesy kind of place. It is usually hard to see exactly what you’re eating under all the cheese. The salsa is good. If you ask for a side of guacamole, it’s served in a small paper ketchup cup. I got the lunch portion of steak fajitas and got exactly four pieces of meat. But a lot of cheese. :) I give it two stars instead of one because the waitstaff is super friendly and awesome.

«I wish my stomach was in someone else’s body.” – my husband. «I feel like my mouth hole is coated in wax.” – also my husband. Seriously gross. Greasy, low quality and bland. Everything from a can or bag. They are just assembling stuff in the kitchen using a microwave. Taco Bell is better. So for example the burrito was Taco Bell ground beef, minus any spices, in a tortilla with some canned enchilada sauce and melted cheddar cheese on top.

It’s a melty cheesy kind of place. They shouldn’t really call it Mexican food. I’ve had better Mexican food at a bar. That being said, we go there every Tuesday for $ 2 tacos and two for $ 5 margaritas. We know what we’re getting into. Don’t make this a destination.

First of all, you’re dreaming if you think chimichangas are being served in any restaurant in Mexico. The chimichanga(deep fried burrito) was invented in the US, most likely in Tucson, AZ in the early 50s and is the epitome of Tex-Mex. Microwaved food service yellow cheese is NOT authentic Mexican cuisine. Poor imitation of Chi Chi’s. You get the picture?

Great service for to go orders. Ordered shredded beef enchiladas and was truly delighted to come across a Mexican restaurant in Dundee, MI which rivals a lot of Mexican restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area. Authentic taste, for sure. Only if their salsa was not too watery, it would have been five stars.

Went on a Sunday. Now I must say that I have been to many Central American countries and tasted the authentic food and since I live in a College town we have some pretty authentic restaurants. That being said, I ordered the Lunch Size Chimichanga and it came with refried beans and rice. Th Chimi was very small and they tried to make it look bigger by putting refried beans under it. The rice was very dry and looked like it has been pre cooked must earlier in the day. I must say I was disappointed but for $ 10.50 I was not going to throw a fit.

Great Mexican food! My first time in I got their chimichanga with shredded beef. Added guacamole. It was delish! I’ve been all over Mexico, traveling for work, when I lived in San Diego. True, the chimichanga here was different than the ones I had in San Diego. Which were different than the ones I had in Laredo. Which were different than the ones I had in Tecate. Which were different than the ones I had in Ohio. You get the picture. All of the folks complaining that it’s not«authentic» must be used to TexMex anyway. Most Americans I know wouldn’t even eat REAL Mexican food in Mexico. It’s quite different than we’re used to. Unless you’re in a resort area where they serve TexMex for the Americans. La Fiesta is just perfect. Keep up the great work!

Am I a bad person for sneaking away from a funeral home for $ 1 Dos Equis at happy hour? I would prefer to think that I know my limits and sometimes need an escape. A nicely decorated space with very cheap beers. I shared an appetizer platter with my mother-in-law(I love that she loves appetizer platters as much as I do) and there were beans & cheese, Mexican fried ravioli, guacamole and queso dip. All were good enough. It’s a typical Midwestern Mexican restaurant… not great but not bad either.
