Great local food and vendors! My girls got to make a sugar candy sand art, but it’s super hot!!! Glad for the shady spots!

I like this festival close to city of Dunedin Downtown. I was lucky enough to get a free parking spot at the downtown with walking distance. Thank to Unilocal I got two free tickets for the Taste of Mojo Cook Off with seven restaurants. Love the people, love the food hate the weather so hot. This festival does have the festival queen and I got a picture with her. The live music is playing until 10 pm tonight with different band. Each different hour has different event. I am attend the tasting of the mojo. Among the restaurants, I like the The Living Room on the Main. It has grilled Chicken top with pickle shallot onion over the yuca. The food is will presented. The chicken is sweet sauce marinate and grill. The yuca is soft and it is great to bite. Yum. The second choice is the Kelly’s for just about anything. The mojo pork is well cook top with avocado and the side is chip. The third place goes to Marguerite’s Café with mojo pork with yellow rice and black bean. I like our Unilocal show force at the festival with Katie manning the booth. A lot of goodies. Where is Nick??? He has finish tasting and left the compound.

This little festival was well priced(free!), not too crowded, and had plenty of parking nearby. The weather was perfect, if you like hotter than H, E, double tooth-picks! The musical entertainment was a great respite from some guy loudly blathering away on the microphone. We did enjoy the Mojo contest, with local restaurants all bringing their Mojo-flavored fair to compete for the fame and fortune. The orange Mojo chicken wings were quite tasty, as well as the Mofongo. We voted for our separate favorites but I don’t know who won in the end. Unilocal was also in the house! Thanks for supporting the local community and see you again next year!

I’m confused on why this is called an orange festival. I didn’t read up on the history of dunedin, but perhaps that’s why. There was a table of dunedin orange festival memorabilia, various crafty vendors, various carnival like vendors, MOJO cook off and scheduled entertainment until 10pm. This was nicely placed by the park by the dunedin marina. Nearby to the bathrooms, trees for shade and park. We arrived late for the MOJO cook off. We tried about 5 plates out of 9. Our favorite was the MO fongo. Very nice small festival. We were actually here last year. Found it to be quite small where u can see everything on less than an hour.
