LOVEIT! Those who compare this place to burns are just being ridiculous! At Burns you pay 4 times the price for exactly the same tasting steak. However, the seafood is better at Burns but again, its ridiculous prices over there. If you want a great streak for wayyyyyy less of your hard earned money come here. If you wanna drive, play dress up and pretend to have won the lotto for the night, go to Burns. Im sure if Spotos wanted to charge what Burns does, they can change the décor. But im not eating the décor, so I dont care what color the walls are. Is it clean, yes. Do you get good service, yes. Is the food amazing, Hell yes! Did I get taken advantage of in the process, No.

Subpar food and a pervasive bathroom odor were only the beginning of a bad experience.

A dining experience from an age gone by, Spoto’s attempts to evoke memories of the classic steakhouse experience, and just misses the mark by that much. Hostess was warm and friendly, and opened the door for us when we arrived. The bartender, Bob — he introduced himself, shook our hands, asked our names, bow tie, black vest, you get the picture — was a tad over the top, but seemed sincere. I ordered a Hendrick’s gin and tonic, and was not impressed. The tonic was flat. Bob had no cucumber for the garnish, and the gin was not pronounced in the glass. My drink, and my friend’s margarita, served in a tall, fluted glass sans salt, were both misses. The interior is dark wood and glass. The bar, the coolest feature, is polished brass. I could spend some time at that bar, if Bob could make a decent G&T, that is. Once seated, service moved methodically. I had a strip steak, baked potato, and chef’s vegetables. The steak was okay, tender, and medium rare as I requested, but lacked any seasoning whatsoever. As a result, the meat was a bit flat; good, not great. House salad was an adequate iceberg salad with fresh veggies. I opted for the house dressing, a mango oil and vinegar blend, according to our waiter. The chef must have waved a mango over the oil and vinegar bottles to achieve the thin fruit note present. Again, nice and nothing about which to write home. Oh, and they had a piano bar set up. The guy was too loud for my tastes, but other diners next to us said they really enjoyed the music. To each his or her own, I guess. Value for the dollar was solid: a middle of the road steak dinner in a side of the highway joint. You could do much worse than Spoto’s, and, I’m certain, you can do much better.

We went here last night for dinner with my mom. Yes, it was for the early-bird crowd but, she is a SC. Our waiter was friendly and the place was quiet, well empty. But we wanted a quiet place to eat. The pâté was tasty but needed salt. I do love pâté… It was my birthday dinner so I went full-boat… The mussel app was delish. Delicately seasoned and perfectly cooked. Their bleu cheese dressing on the salad was so indulgent. Huge chunks of cheese and creamy… And with fresh cracked pepper, wow… We all had the Delmonico steak, HUGE! Cooked perfect, tender, well marbled and so flavorful. You have got to try the potato au gratin. So creamy and cheesy… We were stuffed! The only thing keeping this from a full 5 star rating was the drinks needed some work. Should have went basic, not a mojito sort of bartender. But if that’s the only thing I would change, c’mon…

Best steak for the money available. Much less expensive than the upscale steakhouses in Tampa. Décor is tacky, seems to be targeting the«early bird» crowd, but the steak is awesome. I do wish they’d offer something other than the pâté for the pre-meal freebie.

The owner would not accept our groupon that we had purchased for this place. Besides that being ridiculous, food was overcooked had to send our steak back. Food was average, inside was old and musty, and my wife will not be returning.

My first visit here could not have been worse. Got seated at a booth in the bar with loud obnoxious drunk women yelling at everyone. They DIDNOTCOOKMY filet to a medium doneness — have they cooked a steak before? and… the middle of my meat was sliced by the cook to the middle — so even with him letting all the juice out and cooking the meat — he got it wrong! Then I sent it back and it came back well done. Carrots were stone cold. The crusty bread was the best thing about the meal. I brought the meat home to my cat. There was no cooking skill demonstrated, no customer service from the hostess nor the waitress. Do not waste your money on this place… they need to dry up with customers to take notice and make appropriate corrections. This was awful.

Not worth the price. They are trying to be an «upscale» steak joint but not able to pull it off. I’ve eaten here a few times and I won’t be going back. For the price of Berns, just go to Berns — its 100x better.

First time in Clearwater area and not sure where to eat dinner when happen upon one of our favorite seafood chains late afternoon. We have not eaten dinner and it’s basically happy hour so we decide to go in for our favorite appy. While we sit at the bar and talk to the barkeep he tells us to check out this place. Then a nice senior couple sits next to us and they tell us they go to Spoto’s at least once a week. So we decide to check it out. Yummm. We decide to get on appy and one dinner. i have a 2010 napa valley hess cab that’s very yummy. The scallop, bacon, water chestnut app was good-not over cooked– the rice with it was flavorful and not spongy. The caeser salad was very good and fresh. Be sure you get the fresh ground pepper… what a treat! My hubby had the queen cut prime rib and he said it was great. We ordered a piece of cheesecake to go and enjoyed it. All in all… very nice place… GREAT service, friendly people… food very good!

Make no mistake about it this is not Bern’s Steakhouse, but albeit it is a steakhouse. Actually we went there looking for the call of the«wild» — elk, caribou, buffalo. Unfortunately, although advertised, they did not have any meals other than a sampler and a buffalo prime rib. Atmosphere 70(It dated, stuffy and very very loud)) Service 65(Nice but truck stop quality) Food 70(Prime rib was 30% fat, but tasty) Value 70(Lethal mix of bad décor, below average service and just okay food) There are many better steakhouse choices in Pinellas county — Flamestone, Grillsmith, E&E Steakhouse Grill, etc A Tampa Bay Top 50– not mine the Tampa Bay Times!

If you like to sit at the bar, have drink and eat tapas, this is good place to do it, friendly staff, friendly crowd. The«sit down restaurant», frankly it sucks, depressing décor, truck stop servers and the is food hit and miss, steaks delivered not cooked as requested and when was the last time you had a screwed up burger! Removed from my list

Steaks! We enjoyed eating here, steaks were spot on, service was OK. A little on the expensive side, Drinks even at happy hour are a little pricey. Steaks were delicious. All in all a thumbs up!

Have eaten there only once, as part of a group banquet, ordering off a limited menu. Both the beef and chicken entrees were fine, but not exceptional and the prices were a bit elevated, presumably due to having a separate room and servers. So not sure of the quality for someone just walking in and ordering off the menu. Drinks and sides were OK. The notable element of Spoto’s is its menu of more exotic meats… farm raised venison, moose, rattlesnake, antelope, yak, llama, etc. when available, so you have to check each day. Market pricing takes the cost higher but this is one of the few places locally allowing such carnivorous adventures. I did not check to see if there were any stray cats around and am still puzzling over the idea of farm-raised rattlesnakes… there is a Samuel Jackson movie plot lurking there.

We have lived in Dunedin for a while, so, we finally checked out Spoto’s for our anniversary. Our server, Jahaira, was AWESOME! The food was also very good, and a lot of it. I would highly recommend Spoto’s, for it’s unique menu and great food and service!

Dunedin’s best kept secret… it doesn’t look like much on the outside but the inside doesn’t disappoint. Great happy hour and daily specials, attentive, professional, and friendly service(thank you Preston & Marco) and a creative, diverse menu with unique game choices(elk, boar, etc) if you are adventurous. Food is fresh and artfully prepared and we love listening to the blues that enhances the dining experience. We eat here regularly.

The best unknown steak house in the area(shhhh…don’t tell everyone). The bar is great and you always count on a good story from one of the regulars. Ask for Jim or Ann at the bar and remind him that Big Ten sports doesn’t carry much weight in the SEC Country. Preston makes an amazing Lemon Martini and Marco will keep you laughing.

So I took my mom here for her birthday dinner. And I wasn’t all that impressed. When you walk in the restaurant it is kind of dark and doesn’t really have a set atmosphere. The only reason I have an issue with the atmosphere is because most the entrees here are $ 25 and over and you would excpect a really nice atmoshere and outstanding food. We actually got there for early bird and the prices on those entrees were okay($ 10-$ 15). However I ordered the Steak Diane off the regular menu. It sounded good on the menu, but when it came out the steak was paper thin and came with a little broccoli and mashed potatoes; I will say that it tasted pretty good and was presented nicely. But $ 25 is a lot of money for what I got. Also the prime rib that my mom and aunt ordered was kinda of tough and my cousin ordered the chopped steak which had a really salty gravy on it. The special thing about Spoto’s is that they serve Game(Venison, Elk, Boar, etc) but keep in mind these dishes are very expensive(like $ 30 +)
