Mona Lisa Salon

Called in asked if the cut hair for toddler they say yes. Friendly and Very Nice. Esther did a grate job.

This is a cute place and they are friendly, but be very explicit with what you want done to your hair.
My hairdresser moved to Cali and I needed to find a new place. Someone recommended Mona Lisa cause I have super thick hair which is hard to manage/​style for many.
I forewarned them my hair was thick and that I wanted to clean it up and take an inch and a half off. For whatever reason, Lisa thought my hair needed to be thinner — way thinner — and she went to town with the thinning scissors.
When I was done there was enough hair for a small animal on the ground and my hair is now thin — very thin.
I don’t anyone who longs for thin stringy hair so now I just have to live with this until it grows out. Maybe I should have been more vocal at the time.
Also so cut my hair dry and it took 2 hours which is very unusual as usually I get it cut wet and it only takes an hour.
Oh well, the hunt for a new hair dresser continues :(

This place is awesome! The stylists are very friendly, professional, and the prices are reasonable. I love my new hair cut and the color is vibrant (my boyfriend loves it)! I highly recommend!

Hands down one of the best salons in central jersey. This little gem in downtown Dunellen is the place to go for a fabulous haircut, stunning color and great service. I’ve been going here for 5+ years and have had my friends who pay top $$$ at other salons where I go to get my hair done! Lisa and Sandra are a wonderful team who work wonders. I have never once left without feeling and looking like a million bucks without spending that much! Very reasonable prices and pretty easy to get appointments. They also have eyebrow threading for less than other places! I now have so many friends leaving their high end over priced salons for the friendly faces at Mona Lisa!

This is a charming little shop a few doors down from Planet Chicken so one can really make a nice day out of a beauty appointment and have lunch /​dinner next door. I would give it 5 stars but this is hair only and not a full fledged salon so you cant do nails and skin here.
That being said the two lovely ladies here are very charming and give fantastic customer service and really really want to do a great job and discuss every aspect of what you are looking for. Its a friendly neighborhood shop that is very pretty and very clean.

I was at Mona Lisa Salon two days ago when I needed a haircut in a pinch. It was recommended to me by a relative who has been going there for years. They were able to fit me in right away and Lisa, who was my stylist, was most pleasant to work with. She listened to my concerns, made suggestions and in the end produced a great haircut that I am still receiving compliments on. Best of all, the cost was only $ 18. Ladies, do not hesitate to give this salon a try. I only tried Lisa’s work so I can only recommend her.
