Kena is amazing! The salon is extremely nice, she makes you feel so comfortable and is all about healthy hair. You can tell she knows what she’s doing. I have extremely coarse natural hair and she silk pressed it to perfection! I will definitely be going back on the regular.

Kena is such a talented hair stylist who has a wealth of information about both natural and relaxed hair. She will give you the best advice for your hair needs and takes time with your hair. She also gives you advice on what to do between appointment! She is a gem of a stylist inbetween all the dirty rocks who «claim» to know how to do hair… And believe me I have had my share of bad stylists. I came in looking a mess and came out looking fabulous! Thanks Kena!!!

I have to say Kena is so good at what she does! The minute I sat in her chair, she was knowledgeable, genuine and had her ducks in a row! This girl has talent! I didn’t know what to expect because so many stylists say they can do natural hair and don’t have a clue.
I agree with the other reviews and highly recommend Kena and her AMAZING TALENTS!!! She knows natural hair and my hair is curly, kinky and wavy… when Kena finished, people thought I had a Brazilian weave job completed; which says a lot!

Coco Coif is the business run by Kena Vance. The beauty of this is that you have the owner doing your hair. It doesn’t get better than that! to have a master stylist as your primary stylist!
Hair:
The moment her fingers touch your hair, you know you are in the hands of a professional. Ladies, you know within seconds if the person doing your hair knows what to do with it and it is clear that she does. I received a relaxer, conditioner and cut. my hair went from being an untamed wild forest to a trim, symmetric clean work of art. Besides the many compliments I have received, within myself I felt an new confidence that came with my fresh cut. My hair was shiny, had bounce and felt amazing.
Ambiance:
She is located in a private suite so what does this mean? it means that it is as if you have your own private stylist– there is no traffic in and out of the space. its peaceful, clean, and warm.
Pricing:
I have been across the country getting my hair done by owners of shops in Chicago, DC, master stylists in Brooklyn and used to paying $ 100+ for a relaxer and style. Kena’s pricing reflects the fact that she is up and coming. Because after her work was finished, I told her– if you charged what your work commands, I couldn’t afford you! Ladies, now is the time to treat your hair to a true professional and master stylist while her prices are a steal.
