Stopped here for lunch on our way out of town. 1st time here and it was such a nice hometown place. The service was amazing and Italian grinder was awesome. If you ever are passing through I would check it out.

I love Nick’s, for the most part. Their food has always been excellent, they also have a really nice salad bar. The only gripe I have with the place, and this may be a liberal one, is the news station is Fox News. I try not to be bias but I would prefer a local news station because in my opinion: Fox News is extremely one sided. I think it’s a tad bit unprofessional to have such a prejudice news station on in a restaurant. But over all, I have to say, Nick’s is a really nice restaurant and I would recommend it.

The last time I ordered a hot turkey sandwich it was covered in raw onions. It ruined the whole dish, I would have ordered it without onions, but didn’t realize it was covered in a confetti of onions. Would much rather head to Flint and go to a coney island, not impressed.

Nick’s used to be so amazing! I keep going back thinking I’ll get the old Nick’s… Nope. Last meal I had was the greasy mess they called the lite fish dinner. It came with fish, fruit & cottage cheese on a bed of lettuce… Fish was nasty, the fruit was from a can & the lettuce was soggy. TV blared everywhere, my son enjoyed watching whatever game was on, but I didn’t. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough!

I was in town to watch trains and I usually try to eat at local places — plus the food choices along Lansing Road in Durand get boring after a while.
A friend of mine who works for the railroad has been coming into Nick’s for a while and recommend it so I gave it a shot. Its a very nice place, and the food was good — good portion size and okay prices.

Not a bad place to go in Durand. I like it much better then the restaurant right next door. Food is always good. I’ve never had a bad meal. Can be kind of expensive though.

Very nice restaurant. I ordered the Surf and Turf, steak tasted good and cooked correctly. Meal came with a salad bar which I liked. Very nice and friendly staff. Will be coming here again for the good food and service.

My husband and I have bern going to Nick’s for years. We go most Sunday mornings and ocassionally during the week. The homemade soup is a meal in itself, and the breakfast buffet is filling and delicious – best bacon anywhere. The service and accomodations are totally customer focused. They work to please.

I really liked Nick’s. Walking in the place looks tiny and very misleading, but there is a whole second room!
The menu is really diverse, burgers, some mexican, fish and chips and very large generous portions. The salad bar can be added for a buck I think, and has all sorts of stuff on it from pudding to pasta salad to salad.
The bar is a full bar, not just the beer you see when you enter.
Overall really great. Oh and the servers are swift.

I can not dine in because they have TVs blaring fox news or what ever sports event is on at the time. Mainly they play fox news. The food is decent and if you order the same thing every time, it will be identical every time, which is good. No chicken gravy. The salad bar is horrible. Two stars for fox news and the salad bar. Nick, TURN THE TVS OFF! WE CAN WATCH TV AT HOME. We come there to eat dinner with our family not watch TV. The food is from gordon’s food service and isn’t modified at all. The kicker is, that this is the only «family» restaurant we have in this little town, so you’re stuck.
