I’ve never had Nepalese food before. It was very good. Customer service was good, and the restaurant it self was very nice. My wife and I would highly recommend this place.

Calm atmosphere. Perfect portions; mo mo dumplings were unusual. Lamb vindaloo spicy and delicious. Eat here!!!

Hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Fantastically friendly wait staff(Ken was great!), possibly the best mojito in the world, and a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Try the lamb makhani, you won’t regret it.

We had the lunch buffet after a long bike ride and it was quite tasty. The only reason i gave 4 and not 5 stars was the meat selection on the buffet. It was all chicken dishes. I have been to other indian buffets that have at least 1 lamb dish. They did have galub jamun, Indian doughnuts soaked in cardamom syrup(sp?), so that was a plus! Naan was also included.

I was searching for a Keto or Paleo friendly place. I do not know why this came up except for the fact that they have gluten free meals. If you don’t forge yourself on the rice, you will leave hungry. We did.

The food was delicious. I gave 4 out of 5 instead of a full 5 stars only because the service was a little slow. We ordered a chicken dish with sizzling onions(like fajita style on a skillet) and a shrimp dish with a very tasty sauce and rice. I was impressed with the food and will be back.

We had never had Himalayan food before but the lure of gluten free and paleo diet items lured us in. The food was fantastic! We had the chicken pakora as an appetizer and Chicken Sekuwa and Chicken Phing for our main entrees. The blend of spices was wonderful. The wait staff was very courteous and helpful. We wanted to go back tomorrow but they are closed on Monday.

The food, service and ambiance were terrific. We had the sampler platter and cheese Nan to start. My entrée was the yak mo mo. It was great. The chai tea with brandy was great as well. The staff explained the menu and the origin of each dish.

Best food in Durango. No joke. I’ve eaten at several places in Durango and have continued to find excellent food at the HK. Love the lunch buffet. So fresh and tasty. Has everything you’d want. Come for lunch or dinner. Staff is excellent. Service top notch. Family owned and operated. Nothing like it for 100s of miles. Definitely worth the stop and even the reason to come to Durango.

I must preface this by saying, we are originally from the Denver metro area so we had access to amazing Nepalese restaurants like Sherpa’s in Boulder and Sherpa House in Golden. We had been here a couple of years ago and remember it being good but tonight it was mediocre. The service was great but the food was really lacking. Overall the dishes seemed«Americanized» and a tad Asian, so distinctly not Nepalese. Maybe we hit them on an off night. Either way we’re disappointed as we were really looking forward to this.

This was one of the only places open on Christmas night… and the food is awesome. Will I visit here again? You. Will I eat twice as much as I should? Naturally.

I loved this place when I was in Colorado on business a couple years ago. Some of the freshest and spicest indian food in the middle of the mountains. Absolutely fantastic. One of my top 5 restaurants in Durango. Great stuff.

Solid indian/himalayan restaurant with good vegan/vegetarian options in Durango. We really enjoyed our dishes and while they serve meat there is an entirely separate vegetarian menu. Big Up! I had the Aloo Govi Tarkaari, a nepalese spicy vegetable dish and the the Katchumbar salad. Both were simple and tasty. Nice people there as well make this a good stop in Durango.

We tried to eat here last week but they were closed on Monday! Not sure if this is just for the month of October but be aware. We arrived around 6PM and there were a fair amount of people inside already. The host seated us at the corner table and gave us menus but then we didn’t see anyone for a good 5 – 10 minutes! I had to go over to the main desk to ask the manager to send someone over so we could order. We hadn’t even received water yet :( Finally we did order: chicken tikka masala, chicken tandoori, lamb vindaloo, chow chow noodles, yak momos, shrimp sangkhuwa machha, and baigoon bharta(eggplant). Because they were busy and we ordered a lot we didn’t get our food for about 50 minutes, but it was worth the wait. The food was DELICIOUS. My favorite was the lamb vindaloo: it was spicy, had an amazing lamby flavor, and had a legit tanginess thanks to the addition of vinegar. Chicken tikka was tender and the chicken tandoori was hot and crispy thanks to the hot plate(also enjoyed the yummy bed of onions). The baigoon was an awesome choice; I’m a big fan of eggplant but I wasn’t sure how good this dish was going to be. I’m definitely going to order it again because it was an excellent, light complement to the meat dishes we had. Yak momos were a bit on the dry side but in general pretty good. Chow chow noodles had GREAT flavor and we received a massive, hearty serving which we couldn’t finish. The only thing we didn’t love was the shrimp dish, because it didn’t have a real special flavor and it was kind of meh. In general the servings are kind of small, but the flavor makes up for it and we received a plate piled high with white rice for FREE!

Ever wanted to try yak? Here’s a place you can. I did(and liked it) — but would probably recommend the(all you can eat) lunch buffet instead. It has a wide variety of delicacies to sample and enjoy.

We waited a ridiculously long time after ordering for the food to arrive. Long enough, in fact, for the waiter to think we were asking for the check and not the food. And he got mad when we told him otherwise. Lots of attitude, no apologies. Portions are small for the lofty $ 15+ per dish. Food is unexciting. Lamb was chewy, dry. Shrimp was actually well cooked. Took forever for the rice to show up. Had to keep handing the server the excess dishes so they would take them away. Overall a rather horrible experience. Would never waste my time or money here again.

One of the worst Indian/Nepali food ever, period. I am surprised to see few 5 star comments for this restaurant. May be, the folks haven’t been to other south Asian restaurants. We visited Durango during the Memorial Day weekend. We were a large group from India and this seemed best choice for lunch after a long train ride. The menu looked appealing and many dishes had attractive keys words like«secret recipe», «house speciality“etc. we ordered about 13 dishes(to go). Malai kofta, Annapurna chicken, lentil, just to name a few. In every dish, the spices were all messed up, and not even a single dish was worth tasting. Either the chef made a mistake of using sugar instead of salt or it wasn’t made my a chef at all. Everything was sweet and stale. No single taste what so ever. If you were the chef and reading this — please refresh your culinary skills and know your spices. If you are a customer and looking for a place to eat, go find something else.

Pleasantly surprised to find a $ 10 buffet of this caliber. The Himalayan’s South Asian cuisine is fantastic and has something for everyone. They offer many vegetarian dishes but meat eaters need not be detoured– the restaurants take on chicken Marsala is excellent. The staff is friendly and the décor a tastful Asian mix. I would gladly eat here again.
