Very good location and a great atmosphere! However, its all about the Q! I don’t see what all the hype is about if this is Durant’s best BBQ. In a nutshell, the meat was very blah, bland, and boring. Nothing wowed our table at all. The pork was totally inedible, even the store-bought sauce on the table couldn’t save it. Never once, did a manager check on a single customer. The only reason why I didn’t give it a 1-star was because our server was pretty good.

My wife and I have eaten at Main Street BBQ a few times on trips to Durant. We always try to eat at locally owned businesses in town rather than the cluster of chain restaurants crowded around the Walmart complex west of downtown or the other restaurants in and around the casino. Each time we have eaten at Main Street BBQ the food has been excellent and the service has been great. The BBQ is always smoked perfectly and tender. The sides are always good too. We would not hesitate to go back to Main Street BBQ and probably will on a future trip. Support local business owners!!!

I can only comment on what we tried but everything that we ate was great! Smoked chicken, Smoked Sausage, Hot Links, Sliced Brisket, and Smoked Pit Ham were all excellent, juicy, and pretty flavorful. The chicken surprised me the most! Well smoked, not as dry as I expected based on a couple of reviews, and it was tender! I loved the hot link because it was spicy but not overpowering and it was cooked well. The sweet tea was fresh brewed and not too sweet not was is too bland, just right! The sides made everything complete… The spicy fried green beans are a MUST and the fried okra was great! The rolls served with the dinner plates were great as well! This Texan gives this little BBQ joint a 5⁄5 for our dining experience on this Memorial Day! God Bless America and Thank you to my fellow brothers and sisters in arms that made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.

This review will be short & sweet. Brisket: smoky but no rub to speak of. Really dry. Turkey: again, smoky but no rub. Pulled pork: INEDIBLE. It came out sauced, tough and dry. Some of the worst I’ve had. Sweet tea: not very sweet. Service: great. From what I’ve come to expect, standard Oklahoma BBQ.

The barbecue was amazing! The mac and cheese was amazing and so were the corn fritters. The brisket was moist and tasty

Everything was good. I had St. Louis ribs, and smoked hot links. Loaded bake potato was the size of a football. Sides of jalapeño poppers and corn fritters were amazing. The only negative was they were out of Shiner.

Place has ethically went downhill since it opened. Everytime I’ve been here the last month has been over cooked, dry, or messed up… come on guys what happened!!!

I was in town with time to kill and my camera as my wife had a meeting in town yesterday. I came upon this place and noticed a steady stream of customers around 1:30pm and the great smell from the pit. I ordered a brisket sandwich with fries and BBQ beans and everything was perfect. Some of the best brisket I have ever had and I used to BBQ competitively. If this place were closer to the highway they would run out of food at 1pm every day.

Since I’m from the south, I have pretty high standards for BBQ and the meat here just didn’t live up to expectations. The brisket lacked flavor and wasn’t very moist and the turkey and chicken were both under-seasoned and on the dry side. The sides were great though, and saved our meal. We had the fried okra, corn fritters, jalapeño poppers and mac and cheese. All of them were fantastic and we had trouble deciding which ones to order as they offer a large variety of sides. Service was good and the food arrived promptly but I can’t give a BBQ place 5 stars if the meat is just average.

Here’s the deal. This place has exceptional BBQ, but the sides are what makes this joint stand out. Corn fritters and fried green beans are fantastic. The bonus is all the pretty smiling wait staff with hometown charm.

Didn’t get the chance to eat inside because it was packed. It’s a good sign for someone from out of town. I went through the drive thru. The sliced beef sandwich and the hot BBQ sauce was great and the sweet beans were fantastic. I’ll be sure to hit this place a little earlier so I can eat inside. I’ll be back

I can’t remember when I’ve had better bar b q or better service. Kelsey, our server, was amazing. She brought us a tasting plate of all the meats so we could decide which we wanted. She was the best and we’re looking into adopting her. As I said, the food was terrific and I ate way too much. The prices were very very reasonable. I can’t say enough good things about our meal… love the place and, although I live in Las Vegas, I’ll definitely find my way back one day.

Everything here is good. The ribs, the pulled pork, the brisket, the smoked sausage. I had fried pickles which it turns out are wonderful. They have Shiner on tap and serve it so cold it starts to freeze inside the glass. But… .. . the fried catfish is amazing. I am not generally a big fan of fried catfish. I don’t dislike it or anything like that, but it always just seems like a mediocre fried fish. But the dish has been elevated to high art at Main Street. Imagine what we all like about fried chicken: the taste and texture of the skin. Right? Now imagine a magical chicken that is almost all skin. No bones, very little flesh. Just crispy, chewy, delicious fried chicken skin with a paper thin layer of flakey white flesh in between. Now imagine this magical mutant bird has almost no grease. Are you with me? It’s amazing! You must eat this chimerical fish!

Have eaten here several times over last year. Corn fritters and spicy deep fried green are fantastic! I enjoy the chopped beef meat better than the pulled pork. BBQ sauces are smokey and regular . Staff is very attentive and fast on getting food out. Two tvs on football for a Saturday afternoon!

Pretty good place to eat. Stopped by on our way through town and enjoyed a couple 3 Mini plates. The spicy fried green beans were great an out of the ordinary item that I really enjoyed — try them! Servers were nice but a little preoccupied with each other instead of the customers. Not to say service was bad in any way but it wasn’t what it could have been with a touch more attention to the details of service.

What happened? Did I go into the wrong place? The experience I had should not garnish such high praise. I arrived to a half filled restaurant with smiling waitresses. Ok, that’s a good start. I ordered water, and then it took 10 minutes before I received it. Keep in mind, there were at least 6 waitresses on staff, so I don’t see what the hold up was? I ordered the three meat sliders with slaw, fried green beans, and jalapeño poppers. The jalapeño poppers were stuffed with what looked and tasted like American cheese. Not a fan. The fried green beans were good, but were lukewarm. The slaw was a little too vinegary. The sliders were hit or miss. The sausage one was great. The chopped beef and pulled pork both shared the texture and taste of the premade bbq you can by at costco. Im pretty sure they make their bbq onsite, but it sure didnt tatste like it. Once we were finished, I had to walk up the counter to pay, since our waitress paid no attention to us. Mind you, there was no crowd, and I wasnt in any real rush. But the service there was terrible. The food in general was mediocre. Go somewhere else, unless you don’t care about quality.

VERY friendly folks in here. As I pulled up, the owner(?)/pitmaster was at the pit, and I looked around the corner to make sure he was cooking over fire and smoke. Once Wife and got seated, he came around with a «sample platter», saying that he could tell we were new to his place and that he wanted us to try everything beforre we ordered. I’ve never seen that before! But I’m glad he did as I changed up my order a bit. I got brisket and ribs while the wife got the pulled pork sandwich. His ribs were great, with good flavor coming from his rub and definitely a smoke flavor in the meat. Amongst the best I’ve had anywhere, even from the self proclaimed rib capital of Memphis(very good but still not as good as mine!!). Very, very tender meat that came clean off of the bone(I do not undestand the competition standard of needing the«bite». Personally, I’d rather have«fall off the bone» and I think most of y’all would, too). And they definitely did not need sauce. The brisket was tender and had decent flavor, but it was a little dry and on the crumbly side as far as texture(definitely not as good as mine). The wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich and had a hard time eating it all(the cubes of his pork on our sample platter were very good for smoked pork). I also got the jalapeño poppers and barbeque beans for my sides. The poppers seemed to be frozen, but they came out hot from the fryer and were enjoyable for frozen poppers. The BBQ beans were decent but didn’t show a lot of imagination, just pinto beans with a few pieces of meat and some BBW sauce added for smokey flavor. He can ask my wife for her BBQ bean recipe sometime. I did try a couple of my wife’s onion rings and they were very good and tender, would have to say they were made in-house. Overall, we had excellent service with a team style, and the meat was very good. I would most definitely eat here again to load up on his ribs. And next time to try more of his sausage. The sample bites we had were excellent as well.

We were in the Durant area last month and decided on Main Street Barbecue after reading the other reviews. Our waitress, Madison, had the BEST customer service. I had let her know it was our first time there and asked her recommendations. After placing our lunch order the she came back with a rib for each of us since we didn’t order them and could know what they taste like for future reference.(And now I know I will return to order the ribs!- tender and just right!) My husband ordered a meat plate(chose turkey, ham, & brisket) with cole slaw. I ordered sliders(chose ham, brisket, & pulled pork) which were the perfect size(Hawaiian rolls) and delicious. My side of bbq beans were good and sweet and the fried green beans were as good as the other reviews had said. We were beyond stuffed. We will be in the area again this weekend and look forward to returning to Main Street Bbq.
