So. They’re in transition. They have a new owner and manager(I’m unclear about whether that’s the same person.) I met Kemaa at Blue Coffee Café where she gave me her card. I asked if I could come in that afternoon for a haircut. She said sure! I met her there at 4pm, and received a fantastic haircut replete with a lovely wash. She took the time to straight iron my hair and make it look all fancy. She was very nice as was the rest of the staff. Great music and great atmosphere. I paid $ 25 for a cut, and I think it was well worth it(especially since this is cheaper than most places in town.) It should be noted that it says that they specialize in African American and curly hair, but I have super fine, straight, white girl hair. Still awesome. I will absolutely go back.

I’m sorry to read so many negative reviews of this salon, I have never been there for a mani/pedi nor have I seen an area that they would provide this service. I go to Blush to get my hair done, I too purchased a groupon however I was so thrilled with how Mandy does my hair I’ve been back repeatedly, he is always punctual, professional and my hair has never looked so good, he does my color so beautifully! I will forever be his client. So I would highly recommend him to any of my friends, and I am always asked where I get my hair done and receive many compliments.

More like 0 stars! I had a groupon for a mani-pedi, well they haven’t had someone there to give mani-pedis for the past 2 months. They were allowing people to book a facial or massage. While I’d been unhappy with the facial service I received(she was late) I decided to try again. I made my appointment(after many unanswered phone calls) and the day of my facial I got a call saying that the client ahead of me was late and my appointment would have to be pushed back– I couldn’t do it so I made a new appointment for a few days later at 4PM. I left work early to go, showed up 5 or 10 minutes early and said she’d be right there. Well at 4:15 she had evidently parked and was walking up, but I just left at 4:25 which is way longer than I should have stayed. The girl working there was rude and I can’t believe this place is still in business with this type of customer service. I complained to Groupon and will not give Blush body bar my money again, deal or no deal. DONOTSUPPORTTHISBUSINESS! There are way better options in Durham.

If I could give this no stars I would. I purchased a Groupon for this place a couple of months ago(Mani/Pedi combo). A couple of weeks ago I tried contacting Blush Body Bar to book it — I called the 1st time and got a machine — I left a message. No response. I called a 2nd time and got a machine — I left a message. No response. I then proceeded to try to contact them several times over the course of several days. I must have left at least 7 messages, and that’s not including the times I got frustrated and just hung up on the machine(that was probably about 10 times). I NEVER received a call back. I was so disgusted with their complete lack of professionalism/responsiveness that I contacted Groupon and asked them for a refund(even though it was clearly outside their normal refund policy time limit). Thankfully they are much more conscious of customer service than this place. Myself and many of my friends get mani/pedis biweekly, and I will never, ever use or recommend this place to anyone.

DONOT place a single pinkie toe in this place for a mani/pedi!!! I experienced the worst mani/pedi I have ever had and that is not an understatement by any means. I bought a GroupOn for this place thinking I’d receive a luxury mani/pedi and instead I experienced the exact opposite. I should have Unilocaled this place before buying the GroupOn. Here’s a list of the things that went wrong during my appointment: * The person who made my appointment over the phone was really pushy about being on time, but when I arrived the shop was not even open at 8:55am * My appointment started about 10 – 15 minutes late * The service took place in a cramped room that did not appear to be thoroughly cleaned * I had to place my foot on the manicurist’s leg, so she could provide the service, which was extremely uncomfortable because it placed my leg and foot in an awkward position(my legs actually cramped up during the service) * My nails on both my hands and feet were not filed evenly to the point that they were jagged and I had to file them once I got home, so I would not snag my stockings/tights * I had to ask in order for the manicurist to cut and shape my toe nails(she just pushed back my cuticles and moved on to the next foot without even attempting to file or cut my toe nails) and then she proceeded to cut them way too short and at an uneven angle(I will have to let them grow out in order to gain the correct shape back) * The manicurist only painted the nails on my hands with one layer of nail polish and I could see my nail beds where the polish was painted thinly; my nails began to chip that same day and by Sunday I had to remove the polish because so much of it had chipped off * The manicurist left me in the room for about 10 minutes and came back to let me know the paraffin was not melting and gave me a 15% card for my next appointment, but she did not clean off the dried up salt on my feet even after I pointed it out to her; I left the appointment with ashy feet and cracked hands(the condition of the skin on my feet and hands was worse off when I left than when I arrived at Blush Body Bar) * I messed up my nails trying to gather my things because the manicurist walked off and did not even offer to assist me with taking my things to the front desk * Worst of all, the manicurist coughed the entire time into her hands and continued on with the service without washing her hands; she also was breathing heavily and wheezed the whole appointment then later shared that she has asthma and was recovering from pneumonia This is not an exaggeration people! I’m sad to say that I experienced everything on this list in ONE single appointment. So, please spend your money elsewhere and if you have a GroupOn you haven’t used yet, just call it a lost and go elsewhere for a quality mani/pedi.

I bought a Groupon for for a shampoo, haircut, and style and had a great experience! I was able to get an appointment right away and when I got there I didn’t have to wait long at all. Everyone seemed really nice and I really like my haircut. The place is also super cute!

I came here and had the $ 25 blowout. Overall the experience was ok but I noticed that my hair smelled burnt o0 Oh and I was told that the blowouts were 25 for the first visit only. Wasnt the best and not the worst. My stylist needs to work on her communication and professional skills.

So… made an appointment for mani/pedi at 1 pm several days in advanced. Walked in 10 minutes early, was greated and ya know, will be with you shortly conversation… 20 minutes later, finally someone says, I’ll be with you and gives an excuse on why running late and she’s the ONLY one doing any nail care. She had just started on her other client. 20 minutes later… still sitting there… I go to leave. As I pass her by, she says to me(while still working on her other client), I was just getting you ready to soak. No thanks. No I don’t want to make an appointment later either. Went to Rose’s Nails at North Pointe, walked right in and got all the service I needed. Yep, I won’t be back to Blush Body Bar.
