Working on trying to get some legal action on this situation. The owner, Mike Cole cannot get away with stealing all of our items. The store is closed and packed up. Where is the stuff? Please contact me if you’d like to join in the battle to right this terrible wrong from this person.

Went by there today to see if the rest of my stuff had sold and they are out of business. There was no sign saying that they moved, just a For Lease sign in the empty window. Where did they go? Where is my stuff and my money?

Unfortunately, our initial opinion has not remained in place. Since delivering merchandise which they priced at over $ 2500, we have received a written record of what was sold, but no payments of our share, despite repeated email and in-store efforts to be paid. A complaint has been filed with the Better Business Bureau.

So far, no good. Sold 4 antique chairs in November and have yet to see the money we are owed. Excuses, excuses — «we write checks only once a month», our bookkeeper is sick”, you’ll have a check in late December”, «I’ll have to look you up and call you back»(never got a call back.) Come on people, its just not that hard to deal honestly with your customers.

I stopped in at this cute little shop after dining at Watts Grocery and have been so impressed. Every time you walk in this shop, you will find new treasures. There are dining sets, bookcases, bed sets, pictures, chairs, silver and furniture from estate sales or people just looking to sell their furniture. The prices drop after a certain amount of time and the owner is very helpful in explaining this. You fill note a tag on the furniture with a date and a price and then after 30 days, the price drops. In another 30 days it drops again so there is a fine line between waiting or just purchasing it so you don’t miss out. There is also a nominal delivery fee within 30 miles(around $ 50 or less) and that is very helpful if you need something delivered to your house. I love just checking out the new goods when I am in the area and love the quality of the old and new pieces. Parking is right next door by Watts and Oval Park Grill so there is easy access.

I come to Carolina Consignment Shop often to browse. I have made 3 purchases since they have been open(I believe since February). I feel the prices are very reasonable and April and Tracy(the ladies that work there) have always been VERY helpful, adding to the experience.

After briefly visiting Carolina Consignment Shop when I came to Durham looking for an apartment, I knew I’d need to return when I finally moved in. Unsurprisingly, I had a wonderful shopping experience today, with the sales people and movers being extremely attentive and interested in what I was looking to purchase. The sales woman even moved multiple coffee tables in front of the couch I was purchasing to get a «feel» for the set — so helpful! Fell in love with too many things, but left with a beautiful couch, coffee table, and corner shelving unit at amazing prices. The movers were also wonderful, and even delivered that day! Will definitely be returning to purchase more lovely items. Thanks!

I love browsing thru this shop! Always new and interesting pieces of furniture. Everything thing seems to be reasonably priced as well.

This place is so dark, you can’t tell what you’re looking at. Sorry, this is not the kind of shopping experience I seek. Stains on chairs or rugs? Who knows! You can’t see it’s so dark! I can’t comment on the prices as the only pieces I looked at had but a single price, not tiered by sell-by date as I see at other consignment shops. Take a bright flash light with you if you do go… you’ll need it to examine anything.
