Could be great if it gets more consistent. I’ve had the same pad thai three different times and each time the results were different. Once it had too many peanuts, once it was awesome, and once had what seemed like a different taste. I’ll still keep frequenting this food truck but hope for more predictable results. Lots of upside to this truck, and the proprietor is really nice and friendly. Hope the guy sticks around!

The food at Dr. Noodle is delicious and the service from the Dr. is friendly and warm. This truck is *well* worth a try. I really couldn’t disagree more with Susan Z. and was moved to write this review to make sure hers isn’t the only one on Unilocal. I lived in NYC for 10 years and traveled in Asia several times. I have had some very good Asian food in my years. The katsu I had from the good Dr. Noodle was crispy, fresh, and flavorful. Right up there with the classic noodle stalls. The sides were great too. The prices are in line with what you’ll pay at other Durham food trucks. $ 8 gets you a satisfying and tasty dinner. That is fair in my book. This truck also happens to meet a great need in the Durham food scene. There isn’t enough high quality Asian food available. If you want more diversity in the food scene in Durham we need to support places like Dr. Noodle. Check ‘em out.

Dr. Noodle doesn’t have tasty food. The guy running the truck was nice and very overwhelmed with the three customers he had, but no sliding scale can make up for bad food. Prices are high at $ 8 for noodles that have no real identity or flavor to what they claim to be. I don’t want to be mean because he did seem very nice so here’s what I’ll say: We were very hungry, we just finished up a holiday party and tipsy people aren’t discerning eaters, and no one could finish the«Singaporean» noodles nor the«pad thai.» He ran out of half his menu, he didn’t have any hot sauce, his noodles don’t taste good, it took 10 minutes to get the Singaporean noodles — way too long for a food truck and for stir fried noodles. Everybody waiting was complaining how long it took. Durham’s thing is food trucks, but to me what that means is that anyone can open a food truck in Durham and make money. Even people who cook worse than I do. Both noodles were the worst thing I’ve eaten all year. The only redeeming thing about Dr. Noodle is that it’s open late and it’s parked at my favorite bar(Surf Club). I miss Mama Duke’s at Surf Club, that truck was so much better.
