I have since been back, and it was much better. I am not a big fan of the thin well-done burgers, but it wasn’t crispy and the service was much better.

This is probably my favorite burger joint in the area. I love the steak burgers and thin fries, and the Freddy’s sauce is my weakness. That said, the customer service kind of sucks. Often there is only one person working the register, which can cause a back up of a few people come in at once. Additionally, the staff is rarely friendly or engaging. For example, on my last visit I said«hi how are you» to the girl taking orders and she didn’t even acknowledged that I had spoken to her. For starters, I shouldn’t have to engage her first. And more importantly, she should be polite and respond, those are basic principles of customer service. Further, the tables are very rarely whipped clean, which is a bit annoying. Similarly, in regards to house keeping-type things, the ketchup and Freddy’s sauce are almost always low or empty, and I often have to hunt for or ask for a cup to put it in. The food itself is awesome, but everything else is kind of a let down. But for me the great burgers outweigh the other stuff. I would suggest eating in, as for some reason Freddy’s food gets cold quicker than most, so usually by the time I get it home(less than 5 mins) it’s already cold.

I LOVE the fries and really like the burgers, when cooked through. And the custard is delicious. However, I won’t eat here again until the health rating is consistently higher. It seems to hover around 95.

My husband and I went to this location for our first time eating at Freddy’s. We were greeted by the manager, Amy, at the door, who enthusiastically told us about the food, how Freddy’s works, offered us a custard to thoroughly enjoy our first Freddy’s experience, and clearly loved her job. She made wonderful suggestions and the food truly was outstanding! If we had the money we would love to open a franchise! Amy really made the experience wonderful for us– we came in looking for a bite to eat, and left having an experience– she was fabulous :) Best burger I’ve had in a long time. The fry sauce is great also. The custard is way better than ice cream and we highly recommend the brownie sundae. We will definitely be coming back here again!

This burger was legit — along the lines of Steak ‘n Shake but a slight step up in terms of quality. The fries were good too. I don’t usually like skinny fries, but these were tasty. If you’re a homesick Midwesterner like me who is craving a cheap burger, try Freddy’s.

First visit, they offer you a free custard with one topping, it was really good, creamy and smoother than regular ice cream and staff was super friendly. Hamburgers are a bit on the unremarkable side though. They’re super thin and while not bad, just not that special. Also the standard toppings of pickles, onions, and lots of bright yellow mustard just seems like a weird thing to standardize. Why mustard but not ketchup? Liked the really thin shoestring fries though.

This was my first-ever visit to a Freddy’s. I had never heard of them until I stumbled upon it one Sunday afternoon. Looking at the menu, I got a fleeting In-N-Out vibe, but for sure, their burgers are not like In-N-Out’s. The very helpful cashier told me that since it was my first visit, I could get a frozen custard for free. She also mentioned which menu items were the most popular, and it included a patty melt. Once I saw bacon cheeseburger, I knew what I had to get, and I was able to ask for lettuce and tomato to be added. The fries are shoestring – not everyone’s cup of tea, but these were nicely fried. Try it with their special mayonnaise-based fry sauce and their special fry seasoning. I noticed other reviewers complaining about the thin patties, but I think this is a different style of patty. It had bags of flavour, so it was all good. The drinks, not including the fresh brewed ice tea(sweet and unsweet) are Pepsi products. That may be important to some people; it’s not really that important to me. Ambience: noisy: Music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s played in the background, and there were lots of families with young children present today. Overall, it was a nice experience.

I really like their burgers and fries. This is a great cheap eats kind of place. The burgers are fresh. They are thin and crisp. The fries are very thin. I haven’t saved room to try their frozen custard yet. I will need to do that by itself another time. This location is spotted easily from the road, but it was a bit tricky finding our way up to it.

Not FAST food! Been twice — once ordering inside & once at the drive through. Both times were super slow. Expensive, average food. Won’t go again!

Yum! Absolutely LOVE their burgers and onion rings!!! If you’re looking for an olé fashioned burger full of flavor this is the place to go. And the Oreo and Nutterbutter ice cream sandwiches are filled with their homemade custard. So good and the service is always great. We love Freddy’s!!!

Love this place! Since I discovered it I have been at least once a week! Every time it has only been through the drive through. Love the burger perfect ratio in my option of meat to cheese to pickles and so forth. No this is no McDonalds so the drive through may take up to 10 minutes. I simply plan accordingly. I must say worth the wait my burger or hot dog is always hot along with those damn delicious cheese fries. Not to mention my dog loves the pup cup! Did I mention the custard no need for a large the small is all you need. Remember folks this a fast food joint and I’ll take it any day over those other joints. Including five guys keep your darn peanuts :) Might I also add the staff is always super friendly!

First off, any review of Freddy’s must be tempered by expectations. This is a fast food burger and frozen custard joint, not a fine dining establishment. Furthermore, the burgers are not your traditional standard style burgers… they’re steak burgers which are coarsely chopped beef flattened and cooked to crispy perfection. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s continue with the review. For what Freddy’s is, it’s quite good. We went early on a Sunday evening, so the crowd was small and the service quick. I ordered a double steak burger California style with fries, and my son had a plain hot dog. We also had two frozen custard«concretes,» one vanilla with hot fudge and the other vanilla with butterfinger. My burger was as expected, crispy and very tasty. They forgot the tomato but I’ll let that one slide. My son seem to enjoy his hotdog although he is not the world’s fiercest critic. However, the hotdog was good size and appeared to be grilled rather than boiled. The bun was also top cut which for any hotdog aficionado is a must, and it was also toasted. The fries were slim cut, crispy, and not too oily. Topped with Freddy’s special seasoning and dipped in their fry sauce, they were the perfect addition to the steak burger and hotdog. Finally, the custard provided the perfect finish to this meal. We went with the«concretes» which consists of very thick custard(I think they’re called concretes because it’s so thick that if you turn your cup upside down it won’t fall out). One nice thing that Freddys does, is when you order your meal, you can ask to have the custard put on hold and come pick it up when you’re finished with your meal. So all in all, I’d say Freddy’s was a success. However, it will be a guilty pleasure, as the food is obviously not the healthiest option around.

I recently ate here with my friend and was pleased. Its similar to Steak&Shake. Its the kind of joint you order from the counter and wait for your number to be called. I ordered their normal cheeseburger which was decent — nothing crazy good but not terrible. However, their fries… they are perfection! I love a slim cut frite — salted perfectly and really good dipped in freddy’s sauce! I got the peanut butter/banana ice cream and it was delicious! Fresh cut bananas! Perfect to stop by for lunch or a quick dinner!

«Really unimpressive burgers, IMO» Imagine you’re having a cookout in your backyard. You got some fresh ground beef and made these nice, thick patties. You cooked them to medium or medium-well on your grill in the backyard. They’re moist, juicy, and delicious. You serve those. That’s my ideal burger, but that’s NOT what you get from Freddy’s. After you the cookout, there are crisped bits of dried meat & grease on the grill that are left over. You scrape off with your scraper and throw them away at home. It’s those pieces, fused together, that I felt like I was served at Freddy’s on my bun. My burger was both greasy and audibly«crunchy» simultaneously– but not«juicy» at all. I have NO idea how they can be called«steakburgers». Man, I’d throw away that steak, personally… More generally– Setting: A little loud between music & chatter Value: Meals a bit pricey: basic hot dog meal was $ 5.19, all burger meals were $ 7.49& up. Not a cheap fast food outlet. Taste: Well, I think I answered that above. I think it’s partially since the burger patties are SO thin. The shoestring fries were also very greasy– very thin like potato sticks and then fried. I will say that the fry sauce good though. They had Pepsi rather than Coca Cola drink products. Service: Seemed fine. It was reasonably fast, and I didn’t have any problems. Maybe it was an off day? Maybe some people like this kind of burger(as suggested by some other reviews being far more positive)? Maybe this is a good place to get sundae? I will say that I do not plan to come back for lunch, though– I’d WAY rather have a similarly priced Five Guys meal from around the corner, or even a CookOut meal for 2⁄3 the price.

First of all I’m mad because it has copied the colors and setup of Friendly’s fast food chain. If you’re gonna copy — be better than the one you’re copying. Secondly, I’m mad that the tomatoes are larger than the burger. I have never seen a patty so slim. I was very disappointed… I thought they had put bacon on my sandwich. The sad part is — you have to order a triple to equate to what most people think of the size of a single. The fries are so skinny they must be on a diet just like the burger patties. The custard tastes like $ 1 McDonalds ice cream. I am so not impressed. Actually I am quite pissed as you can tell. SN: use the sewer smelling restroom after you eat. #feelingirritated #freddyswrongforthat

This was my first time having a steak burger. I got the California Style double. It was pretty good, above average for fast food. I loved the shoestring fries even more, they were the perfect amount of crunch in my book. The design of the restaurant has a cute diner feel.

Came in the other day at an off time and there was only one other customer in the place. There were plenty of employees ready for the dinner rush, probably in about an hour, so my timing was great. I ordered the Chicago dog combo, but this time with the chili cheese fries. I specifically asked that none of their seasoning be put on the fries, which was noted on the receipt, and the cashier even went back to the kitchen to tell them. Well it didn’t matter, they still heavily dosed the fries with their seasoning of salt, pepper and who knows what else is in it. I had no idea the chili cheese fries was so huge and felt kind of bad returning it to say they put on the seasoning, which I asked not to be on it. They were really nice and remade another order quickly. I can say I tried it, but won’t get it again. The chili does not have a very good flavor and the cheese is the stuff that is pumped out of the can and kind of watery. To top it off, someone was lazy and didn’t chop the onions well for the hot dog and some were long slices like would be on a burger. It was hard to keep them in the bun with the dog. I don’t think I’m being picky, especially since there was only one other customer in the place and close to ten employees working. I didn’t see a manager on duty either. I’m glad another location opened closer to me cos I noticed the last couple visits this one is slipping fast so I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.

Steak and Shake anyone? I stopped by this location last week to grab some lunch and check it out. If you have been to a Steak and Shake then you have been to a Freddy’s. Nothing really original about this place. It’s a chain burger joint. It is a self serve place which is slightly different from Steak and Shake and because of that, I would give S and S the edge here. The inside was clean and it was not very crowded. I arrived shortly after the lunch rush. The counter staff was efficient however, not very friendly and inviting. The menu is about the same as Steak and Shake and they have combo meal deals. I ordered the number one which is a double steakburger, pencil fries and a drink. I did like the fact that they are a Pepsi establishment so, a point for that. You are given a number when you place your order and then you pick it up at the pickup counter. The food arrives in a basket on a tray and was hot. The fries were cooked just right and hot. My initial thought of the burger is that the patties are really thin. The edges were charred because they are so thin. The overall taste of the burger is good but, it is not remarkable. It reminds me of eating a double at Wendy’s — take that as you will. Restrooms were very clean. My final thoughts are that I would not actively seek out this place. I think they have a decent offering but, nothing that begs to become a regular place to visit. Likely, it is not the place that I would stop at it intentionally.

I was a little skeptical about Freddy’s since there are some many burger places in the area, many of which are pretty awesome. And then there is the whole chain thing, which I am not too crazy about, but this was a franchise I had never been to or even heard of. it’s pretty spanking new and opened in an area with a lot of other spanking new businesses such as PDQ and Chipotle. I got their classic number one, which is a basic single burger. The burger was actually very good. I liked the fries also. They are the thin kind, but they had a good potato flavor. They also offer another tangy sauce in addition the ketchup which went well with the fries. The décor is retro, and very kid friendly. While I didn’t get any this time, they seem to offer a wide variety of frozen custards. The price of my combo meal was a little over $ 8 so Freddy’s is a bit more expensive that your typical fast food burger joint, but less expensive than the gourmet burger places that are popping up everywhere. Also no alcohol serves here like at some of the fancy burger places. It’s an ever increasingly crowded market, for both fast-casual and especially burgers, but I think Freddy’s will do well.

The steak burger was fantastic. I can honestly say that the fries weren’t amazing, but they weren’t bad. I happened to be at this location the day it opened therefore everything was free. You cannot beat that price! I was meeting with my brother in law and we planned to discuss some Wojdylo Social Media related topics. We ended up discussing the new burger options much more so. If you are ever out by Walmart or Barnes and Noble between Duke and UNC I would strongly suggest trying out Freddy’s. I grabbed a «turtle» concrete which is basically a chocolate fudge and caramel sundae. It was amazing!
